So that's why he sucked so bad! It all makes sense now!
Even as a dumbass teenager in the 1970s, I knew that Nugent wasn't playing with a full deck. His interviews were bizarre. He praised himself constantly, and was extremely proud--psychotically proud--of his hunting expertise. I think it was a way to compensate for his lack of participation in Vietnam. Oddly enough, he never mentioned Vietnam back then--I wonder why?
So now he's re-invented himself as a patriot. Ha ha ha. Anyone who takes him seriously must have no capacity for critical thinking. He's a kosher-approved coward, nothing more. Yes, I agree that the Vietnam war was bullshit, and I don't blame anyone who got out of serving in that miserable war. Neither do I blame those who couldn't get out of it. But the worst kind of chickenshit is a guy like Nugent, who boasts about what a badass he would have been, had he actually been there. Utterly contemptible, and transparent.
He can't play guitar worth a shit, either.
