One part of the function of the justice / penal system is retribution. The law puts people in jail for bascially 3 purposes: 1. Punishment, 2. To isolate the offender from the general population so that he cannot harm others in the general population, 3. Retribution for the victim and his family.

The retribution part of the equation is designed to prevent the victim's family from settling the score, so to speak, and the whole thing devolving into a wild-west scenario.

If someone can kill your husband/wife/father/mother/brother with relative impunity, especially a nigger, who will be surprised when the victims family takes its own retribution that the law wouldn't take for them?
