Default Sholem Asch's Epistle of Hatred

Sholem Asch's Epistle of Hatred

In my recent article on the claims about the so-called 'Holocaust' that the famous jewish novelist and literary figure Sholem Asch made in his 1945 work 'One Destiny': I described the almost hysterical claims that he made concerning the behaviour of the German government towards the jews during the Second World War. (1) I also pointed out how embarrassing Asch's claims are for the modern 'Holocaust' industry given that he contradicts (rightly as it happens since if you look at the sources what he states is all there) the central tenets of their 'genocide' narrative: most significantly on the methods the German government allegedly used to 'exterminate' millions of jews.

As an expansion of that original article I would like to cover Asch's comments on the subjects of jews and non-jews more broadly.

By way of a beginning: it is important to note that when Asch wrote 'One Destiny' he believed (however tritely) that the Germans had exterminated several million of his people during the Second World War, which would excuse a bit of vituperation on his part. However the sheer amount of hatred for gentiles exhibited in his 'One Destiny' renders the idea that it was purely an emotional reaction to the so-called 'Holocaust' a palpable nonsense.

We can say this because Asch argues that Christianity is the spiritual child of Judaism (2) and was itself invented by jews. (3) Indeed he styles Jesus as a radical jew who blazed the path for a revolutionary new ethos for mankind. (4)

As such Asch is arguing for the idea that Christianity is an evolved form of Judaism and as such, as a jew and (according to him) part of people whose sole job it is to enlighten the world, (5) it behooves him to be meek, forgiving and to turn the other cheek to those he would otherwise regard as his enemies.

Asch however does none of these things and instead asserts that Christians have continually persecuted the jews and spread lies about them. (6) This he claims was started by the Fathers of the Church (7) and involved the idea that if Christians persecuted jews then more would convert to Christianity. (8)

It was this persecution of the jews by the Christians that Asch claims was the fundamental cause of the so-called 'Holocaust' (9) as well as events such as the massacre of jews in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. (10) Asch claims these jews as 'martyrs' and compares them to the early Christians: persecuted for their enduring faith in, and divine election, by Yahweh. (11) He also extends this comparison further back to the rabbis of the Mishnah who were hunted by the Roman authorities as religious subversives (12) and promptly revels in their martyrdoms as well. (13)

This idea of eternal jewish martyrdom is succinctly summarized by Asch as: 'One long night of sorrow and pain. The history of the Jews is a bloody sore on the conscience of Christendom.' (14)

Asch is similarly quick to invoke the idea (later championed in the English language by the violently anti-gentile jewish historian Max Isaac Dimont) that the survival of the jews was and is a miracle (15) and that said miracle was due to the direct intervention of Yahweh. (16) He further argues that this furnishes proof that the jews are a people who are destined to live forever (17) as well as that the extermination of the jews is the fundamental mission of the anti-Christ, (18) which therefore causes him to assert that anti-Semitism is ipso facto satanic. (19)

It is also worth mentioning that anti-Semitism in Asch's book literally means any and all opposition to, and or criticism of, jews and/or Judaism, which he regards as automatically paving the road to Auschwitz. (20) In this Asch was a man ahead of his time in asserting that any criticism of jews is ipso facto anti-Semitic and that any anti-Semitism means that Auschwitz is just around the corner, which is now an intellectual norm within the international jewish community.

Asch was also ahead of his time in regards to claiming that National Socialism was itself satanic and in some way linked to the worship of the devil. (21) This can be easily demonstrated by quoting Asch's comments on National Socialism and the German people.

To wit:

'Not Hitler alone, not the Gestapo alone, not the Nazis alone, but the whole German people – man, woman, and child – is infected with the leprous plague, the disease of bestiality and blood lust. It had to prey on women and children and old men, had to wallow in human blood, had to smell – like Moloch of old – the odor of human flesh burning.' (22)

'Because the earth will not cover up the split blood of Israel. The whole German people is guilty of the crime which cries out to the heavens. Seven million souls are not annihilated on a single day by a single hand – the whole people must have given its consent to the monstrous crime or Hitler would never have dared to commit it.' (23)

We should notice both the medicalization of the analogy that Asch uses in describing National Socialism as a 'plague' which 'infected' the German people (which he similarly uses in regard to anti-Semitism, which he claims is a disease) (24) and the Old Testament imagery linked to the worship of evil gods (i.e. child sacrifice to Moloch), which Asch also describes a form of 'cannibalistic blood lust'. (25)

This kind of imagery is deliberately used by Asch to associate the alleged 'wrong' that Christians have done by daring to criticize the jews (and thus caused the 'Holocaust' according to him) with the idol worship of the Old Testament: where the Israelites fell into religious error through temptation and reneged on their faith and covenant with Yahweh resulting in idol worship and the bloody sacrifice of jewish lives.

Thus, Asch pontificates, Christians need to re-assert their faith anew and this time defend jews whenever they are attacked (26) and use the yardstick of what someone's attitude to the jews is to decide whether or not they are truly Christian. (27) To encourage this Asch holds out the possibility that this might induce more jews to convert to it. (28)

However Asch himself doubts this since the central tenet of Christianity (i.e. the trinity) he holds to be fundamentally alien to how jews think. (29) Now while we are on the subject of how jews think: it is worthwhile pointing out that Asch endorses the idea of vengeance not forgiveness towards the Germans.

For example he declares that some day the Germans as a people might be rehabilitated in the eyes of the jews [and thus of Yahweh] (30) and that forgiveness might be theirs (given that Asch alleges it was the jews who civilized the Germans in the first place). (31)

He then qualifies his point as follows:

'But whatever the fate of the German people as a whole, every German of the forty millions of them – man, woman, and child – will bear the mark of Cain on his forehead forever.' (32)

In other words, while the jews may eventually forgive the Germans (and they apparently haven't yet): they will never forget and will continue to hate them. That is about as far from the spirit of penitential reconciliation that Asch alleges Judaism believes as you can possibility get and comes back to the earlier point that Asch is not reacting to the alleged 'Holocaust' per se, but rather he hates Germans (and gentiles more broadly with slightly less ferocity) anyway.

In these words Asch declares to what his real agenda is: he is a jewish nationalist.

We can see this in how he describes the jews as the 'chosen' of Yahweh: (33) who were killed by the Third Reich because of this (and because Nazis are 'satanists'). (34) Nor is jewishness purely a religious description for Asch since he regards the jews as a 'holy temple of flesh and blood': (35) he even explicitly states jews are neither a wholly religious group (36) or a political one. (37)

In other words: Asch regards jews as a racial group/nation.

What are the characteristics of this racial group/nation?

Well the first is that jews are mentally and spiritually superior to non-jews in that unlike them are not deluded by passing religious superstitions and able to comprehend the true will of Yahweh. (38) The result of this in Christian terms is that the jews will always be saved first by Yahweh since they are more important to him than non-jews. (39)

The second is that the proper place of the jews is in the higher aristocracy where they can rule the non-jews. This is demonstrated when Asch complements the Poles for their alleged pro-jewish sympathies during the Second World War (40) and then suggests that this is because the Poles used to admit jewish converts right into the higher aristocracy of the nation in recognition of manifest jewish superiority over non-jews. (41)

In other words: Asch regards jews as being a distinctly superior racial group/nation in comparison to non-jews and as such the former have a duty and a mission to rule over the latter per Asch's understanding of human nature.

With this we can see Asch's real agenda: to use the alleged advent of the 'Holocaust' to modify the position of socio-political structures that he believed opposed jews historically into supporting them without reservation (hence Asch's unqualified support of the Soviet Union, while also supporting Israel). (42)

I can summarize Asch's view of his people in no better way than he himself did:

'[...] The Jews are the most powerful, the most worthy, and the strongest people of the entire human race.' (43)
