The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) second-in-command says the capture of the intruding US ScanEagle drone over the Persian Gulf proves the United States weakness vis-à-vis Iran.

“The new US failure in spying operation by this drone demonstrated that the US government, despite its high military and economic power and its dominance on the world political order, is not capable of confronting the Islamic Iran, and Iran can easily undo all its plans,” Brigadier General Hossein Salami said on Tuesday.

It bothers me far less than the fact that there are around 2 billion Muslims alive and breathing air in this world.

It's a ScanEagle drone, built by Boeing. It has a wingspan of 10 feet, and can stay in the air for a long time and relay visuals back to whoever launched it. It is usually carried on lots of US Navy ships, probably a shit load of the ships in the Persian Gulf can launch them. A simple catapult is all that's needed.

Could Iran get one from some unknown source? Maybe, but doubtful. I'm guessing that there are bunches in Israel's stock. Is there anything that we don't give the yids?

Best two guesses...

1. The US Navy is lying. Iranians got it.

2. The captain of the ship that launched it is trying to cover his ass and won't admit to the Pentagon that he is missing one. Maybe some officer or senior enlisted is covering his ass and hasn't told his captain yet. Things like this happen. Certainly I never did anything like this to cover my ass when I was in the Navy. No way!

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has fully extracted the data on the US spy drone, it captured over the Persian Gulf on Tuesday.

“Yes, we have fully extracted the drone’s data...,” the IRGC Public Relations Department said on Wednesday, referring to the ScanEagle drone -- a long-endurance aircraft built by Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani praised the country's Armed Forces, specially the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), for hunting an intruding US drone over the Persian Gulf.

Addressing a large congregation of worshippers on Tehran University Campus on Friday, Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani said that the recent capturing of a US drone proved Iran's superior technology.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A member of the Iranian parliament stressed the country's great technological achievements in defense fields, including production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and announced that Iran will start mass production of its home-made pilotless drones in the near future.

"Although the West and those who consider themselves as superpowers do not believe, the mass-production of Iranian drones will be started in the not far future, and then those who imagine to be superpowers should bow to the Islamic Republic of Iran," Nasrallah Pejmanfar told FNA on Saturday.
