Another Nazi gas chamber discovered

"Dr. Richard G. Macdonald is a retired podiatric surgeon living in Washington, Illinois. His sons, Richard and Philip, and daughter, Annie, encouraged him to pursue unanswered questions about the role played by the author’s father, Lt. Col. Hugh Macdonald, M.D., in the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp in Ebensee, Austria. Two years of research in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Holocaust museum and library in Ebensee showed that his father’s medical unit had been denied its rightful place in the historical record. All very admirable, but Dr. MacDonald claims in 2010 book:

"KZ Ebensee had a gas chamber, but as far as could be learned it had never been used. One of the furnaces that were used was capable of holding eight bodies at a time and cremating them in two hours. No care was made to separate the dead from the living."
