Default Nvidia

Thoughts on GeForce, and recent new driver updates to 8.1.

Any feedback about NVIDIA and/or 8.1 appreciated.

I only ask due to the fact all these 'crucial updates' have whored out to include HORSESHIT. Takes me forever to extract myself from the unsolicited SPAM and MALWARE.

8.1 can kiss my fucking ass. We are looking into a virtual vacuum.

I am from the day when a critical update was a GD critical update, not the reflection of a marketing contract freshly signed to unleash a horde of bugs up my ass.

1. Don't use Windows
2. Don't use proprietary drivers

Excluding that there's not much you can do other than be at their whim

Can you elaborate on this or direct me to another thread? I did search first in order to understand your response :/

Everything is proprietary now. I am sick of it. I know I am slow to realize this, but this last Windows is a TOTAL Whore.

A victim of marketing once again. It's far past old. It is inescapable.

Yes but there are more alternatives than just Linux.

Which is why #1 was a prerequisite.

Linus: http://www.networkworld.com/article/...self-now-.html , http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=137391223711946&w=2

Mint is a decent distro for beginners: http://abriefhistory.org/wp-content/...mintisrael.jpg .. http://www.linuxmint.com/ .. put it on a usb stick with UNetBootin http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ to try it out first without installing permanently on hd.
