Black rapist who murdered White woman had been released a few weeks earlier
A black whose attempted-rape case was dismissed in November is accused of sexually assaulting and killing another woman less than three weeks later. James Wesley Jackson was arrested on a capital murder warrant in the death of 59-year-old Jo Beth Marchand, whose body was found Dec. 2 inside a closet in her apartment. Court records show that Jackson was to go on trial Nov. 14 on charges of robbery and attempted aggravated sexual assault stemming from a Feb. 14, 2011, attack on a 54-year-old homeless woman. On the day his trial was supposed to start, Jackson was instead released from the Tarrant County Jail.
