Jury to weigh death sentence for man in Jewish site killings

OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ Jurors who convicted a white supremacist of killing three people at Jewish sites in suburban Kansas City will now hear more evidence before deciding whether to recommend a death sentence.

The penalty phase of Frazier Glenn Miller Jr.’s trial gets started Tuesday after jurors convicted him Monday of capital murder and five other charges in the August 2014 shooting rampage.

The 74-year-old man from Aurora, Missouri, may be permitted to present some evidence about his beliefs that he was barred from discussing during the guilt phase of the trial. He is acting as his own attorney.

Miller’s standby attorney, Mark Manna, said Miller had witnesses coming in throughout the week, including relatives, a veteran with whom Miller served in Vietnam and two experts on the cost of the death penalty.

Convicted killer F. Glenn Miller Jr. grew argumentative in court again Tuesday, this time as his judge explained how the penalty phase of Miller’s capital murder trial will be allowed to unfold in Johnson County District Court.

Miller, who is representing himself, sought assurances that he could introduce videos and other evidence without objection from prosecutors.

District Judge Kelly Ryan would not grant that promise.

“I don’t know why we had a trial,” Miller said.

“You are on notice,” Ryan responded. “Your rope is very short if you don’t follow proper decorum.”

"Decorum", in this case appears to refer to the string of lies the jewdicial system has fed to Glenn in order to entice his participation in their public show-trial. Now that they have gotten what they wanted from him, and the truth is no longer a threat to his conviction, it will be interesting to see if they actually admit into evidence any documentation of the leading role played by jews in the genocide of all peoples of European descent.

The exchange came a day after Miller got banned from the courtroom for 30 minutes Monday for disrespectful behavior. The jury was not present for either exchange.

Miller has been warned many times that he could be banned from the courtroom if his misbehavior continues. If that happens, his stand by lawyers will finish his defense.

Jurors found Miller guilty Monday of capital murder in the April 13, 2014, shooting deaths of of William Corporon, 69, Reat Underwood, and Terri LaManno, 53, outside the Jewish Community Center and the Village Shalom retirement community in Overland Park. .

The second trial phase, which began Tuesday, will determine if Miller, 74, is to be sentenced to life in prison or death. District Judge Kelly Ryan has told Miller that he will have wider latitude to make his arguments in this phase of the trial.

Prosecutors were expected to start presenting evidence about 10 a.m. District Attorney Steve Howe said he plans to call one witness to speak to the aggravating circumstances involving the three killings.

Miller has said he will present multiple witnesses and other evidence.

Asked by Ryan Tuesday morning whether he had prepared any suggested jury instructions for this phase of the trial, Miller said he had not.

“You do so at your own a risk at this point,” said Ryan, who did not OK any of Miller’s suggested jury instructions for the guilt phase of the trial.

“It doesn’t matter,” Miller said. “You’re not going to approve them anyway.”

Miller is the first defendant facing a possible death sentence to go to trial in Johnson County since serial killer John E. Robinson Sr. in 2002.

During his opening statement Monday in the sentencing phase, assistant prosecutor Chris McMullin called Frazier Glenn Miller Jr. a "proud and remorseless killer that regrets only that he didn't kill more people."

Miller, who is representing himself, said he never denied the shootings. He called them "righteous" and "honorable."

Prosecutors were expected to only call one witness before Miller takes the stand in his own defense.

This is of course a kangaroo court. Glenn knows it. If he does get the death penalty I am almost positive it is automatically appealed. I do not know how bad his health is at this point.

The jews truly are our misfortune. The jews do share most of the blame for Glenn's utter frustration. By this I mean, Glenn tried to operate within the system running for office only to get shut out by both major parties. What in the Hell did they have to fear from an old man? Some of his ideas were very similiar to Trump's and I think that terrifies the establishment to no end.

In the past Glenn has done so much for White people. I will not even at this late hour throw my Comrade under the bus. Sadly there are very few of us left that will say such a thing.

Say what you will about Glenn, but he is fighting the jews up until the end. Most men in his situation would be trying to make a deal to stay off of death row.

Glenn Miller knows what duty and honor mean. He has more courage in the tip of his finger than most men have in their whole body.

He talked about his age, 74, his emphysema and the impact a death sentence would have on his family. He also promised to present evidence on “mitigating circumstances good enough to outweigh” the prosecutor’s evidence for a death sentence.

“I want you to fully understand each piece of evidence,” said the anti-Semite with a long history in the white supremacy movement.

To start his defense, he took the stand and began showing a video of a former Illinois congressman talking about Israel’s influence on America. Miller then talked about his personal, failed attempts to seek elective office on a platform to unite white Americans.

“But trying to unite white Americans is like trying to herd cats,” he testified.

He compared his efforts to those of American colonists acting against British tyranny.

“They got their guns.…” he said. “That’s what I did.”

A witness Miller called to the stand in the afternoon also talked about Jewish influence on America, financial matters and even Hollywood. I wonder if the public will have the opportunity to view and evaluate a video of this witness' testimony?

At one point, McMullin objected to the testimony as irrelevant. Miller defended it by saying, “He’s expressing my beliefs.”

This is typical jew-court procedure. The prosecutor hits you with totally loaded questions and then demands that you answer them only with a Yes or No.
You are not allowed to elaborate on your answer to these questions at all. Yes or No, that's it.
If you refuse to give that Yes or No answer you risk being cited for contempt of court and being fined or possibly even jailed.

Cross then called Alex Linder to the stand, his first witness. Linder said he vouches for Cross' character, calling him "selfless" and "a good man." He said, "Miller [Cross] is a man of my same way of thinking of things." Linder runs a white supremacist website. When prosecutors asked in cross-examination whether Linder supported Cross' murders, Linder paused silently for about ten seconds before responding, "I don't want to answer that."

OLATHE, Kan. - The penalty phase in the Jewish campus shootings trial began Tuesday, one day after Frazier Glenn Cross was found guilty of capital murder and other charges.

Cross, also known as Glenn Miller, was convicted of first-degree murder in the deaths of Reat Underwood, William Corporon and Terri LaManno. He was also convicted on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, as well as aggravated assault for pointing a shotgun at another woman.

Opening statements in the penalty phase

Johnson County Assistant District Attorney Chris McMullen began the state’s opening statement asking the jury to decide the fate of Cross, a convicted murderer. He called Cross a “proud and remorseless killer” whose only regret was not killing more people.

McMullen said the state planned to show the jury the flyers for the KCSuperStar competition to show it was meant for teenagers, such as Reat Underwood, who was shot and killed by Cross. The state also told jurors that Cross knowingly killed more than one person and it was atrocious, heinous and cruel.

Cross then presented his opening statement. He told the jury he never denied that he did it. He said he wanted his day in court to explain why. Cross said he plans to show videos and news articles to the jury to illustrate his beliefs.

Cross also asked the jurors to consider the following factors when they decide his sentence: his age, physical condition, his military service and the impact of the sentence of death on his family and friends.

He said he would have a doctor give insight into his physical condition. Cross also said he would have a witness talk about the potential length of a death penalty appeal process and the cost of it.

Cross takes the stand, presents evidence

Laurie Bridges, a detective for Overland Park, presented that she found the same KCSuperStar flyer that was found on the scene online. She was the only person to testify for the state in the penalty phase of the trial. After Bridges presented the flyer, Cross took the stand.

Cross said a group he had created to bring white people together was disbanded. He claimed he was framed for a misdemeanor and was then told to not contact those people with the group again. Cross said he tried to do things legally, but it dawned on him after he said he was framed that the system would not let him work legally.

“So what are you gonna do? What are patriots gonna do?” Cross asked. He then said patriots would get their guns, so he got his guns to kill Jews.

Cross also showed multiple videos of people talking about the Jewish race, including videos of former Rep. Paul Findley, former Congressman James Traficant and Louis Farrakhan. He also submitted articles from multiple news outlets talking about Jews in the United States. Cross also showed a video of him and others protesting in the 1980s in downtown Raleigh, N.C.

Acquaintance of Cross takes the stand

Alex Linder, who has known Cross for about 10 or 11 years, took the stand. Linder agrees with Cross’ views on anti-Semitism.

As Cross asked Linder questions, McMullen objected multiple times and Linder continued to speak after the objections. Judge Kelly Ryan reminded Linder to stop speaking when an objection was made. After Linder spoke after multiple objections, the judge told him this is “not a soap box. This is not a demonstration. This is not a speech.”

Ryan also told Linder this was a court of law and not a forum. Linder responded, “You have the power, but Miller and I have the authority.”

McMullen then cross-examined Linder. Linder said Cross being convicted did not change his opinion of him.

When McMullen asked if Linder condoned the killings the defendant did on April 13, 2014, Linder responded, “I don’t want to answer that.”
