Default Bon Jovi - Runaway

The other week VH1 was showing some 1980's music videos. It was the time of white "big hair" bands. I was never too crazy about Bon Jovi but this was one of their better songs, and their first hit I believe.

L@L. Chick band.

I'll only give John Bon Jovi credit for a couple good songs off the Young Guns movie soundtrack.

I liked this one he did:

Yep. My girlfriend at the time (a bit younger than me) was really into them. Guys wouldn't mind going to their concerts because it was filled with smokin' hot chicks.

That young gun soundtrack was THE ONLY Bon Jovi album I ever bought.. The song Blaze Of Glory brings Robert Mathews to mind... Mathews was faced with two choices, go with your hands on your head or your hands on the trigger, he chose the latter. While the house was burning he was still shooting, that's what you call going down in a blaze of glory.

"Blaze Of Glory"

I wake up in the morning
And I raise my weary head
I got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night's bed
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six gun lover
A candle in the wind
When you're brought into this world
They say you're born in sin
Well at least they gave me something
I didn't have to steal or have to win
Well they tell me that I'm wanted
Yeah I'm a wanted man
I'm colt in your stable
I'm what Cain was to Abel
Mister catch me if you can
I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm no one's son
Call me young gun
You ask about my consience
And I offer you my soul
You ask If I'll grow to be a wise man
Well I ask if I'll grow old
You ask me if I known love
And what it's like to sing songs in the rain
Well,I've seen love come
And I've seen it shot down
I've seen it die in vain
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
'Cause I'm going down in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
I'm the devil's son
Call me young gun
Each night I go to bed
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No I ain't looking for forgiveness
But before I'm six foot deep
Lord,I got to ask a favor
And I'll hope you'll understand
'Cause I've lived life to the fullest
Let the boy die like a man
Staring down the bullet
Let me make my final stand
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
I'm going out in a blaze of glory
Lord I never drew first
But I drew first blood
and I'm no one's son
Call me young gun
I'm a young gun

Blaze of Glory was good. From what I recall, I liked the YG Soundtrack. In the 80s-90s, I listened to some of their other shit, but they are total fags.

I'd rate that eternal adolescent somewhere down the totempole near the likes of John "Cougar" "Mellenkamp" (Melloncamp), the self proclaimed American Fool. Neither one has mastered the English language. "Bon" "Jovi" (whatever that is) claims to be from upstate New York, even.
Can't that Kazoo player, in his band, play an instrument?

I saw those guys back in July of 84 when they toured with the Scorpions.

I've always like the Scorpions - Would I be correct in my assumption that the Scorpions blew Bon Jovi off the stage?

Being an 80's metal head. One of the best concerts I've ever seen was W.A.S.P. From what I can remember It was unreal.

OOohh Blackie Lawless was so badass lol. I was a Cinderella/Metallica girl, mainly. The 'And Justice For All' concert was the best I've seen.. that and Nazareth.

Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet was the first CD I ever got back when I got my first decent stereo system...back when CD's were new and exciting.

But it was also the last Bon Jovi CD I ever got.

......With such tracks as "You Give Rock a Bad Name" and "Livin' on my Hair."

Jon Bon Jovi always struck me as a good looking patriotard. One of those guys who will end up with a gig yodeling "this is our country" in Chevy truck commercials, or something. The kind of cool PC cat who would replace Remember the Alamo with Remember 9-11. A man with a career in Hymiewood to think about.

Besides, what kind of person has the last name Bon Jovi?

My musical interests quickly turned to bands like New Order and Sigue Sigue Sputnik.

Actually they were pretty good. I never even heard of them before that show.

But, by the end of the concert I also thought the lead singer of the Scorpions was sticking to the walls

Here's a funny music video by the late great Stevie Van Vaughan.

I've gotta confess to being a fan of the big hair bands of the '80s and a big, big fan of '70s glam rockers, especially The Sweet and (gulp!) Gary Glitter.
