A big part of Croats has Serbian roots, that's true. However, smaller part also have Hungarian and Italian roots as well.
There is no such thing as "bonsniaks". There are Bosnian muslims who really were Serbs who converted to Islam back in the day of Ottoman invasion. However, they are also intermixed with Turks and there is no going back for them.
