I don't know if anyone here has actually met Mr. Steele and even if they did there's no way to tell what demons may haunt a man.
The fact that he was an articulate activist for out cause doesn't spare him from the human frailties that Yankee Jim succumbed to.
I do hope he is innocent and quickly exonerated but anything's possible.
