Charges are pending against Rickie Anthony, 54, of Omaha, in the aftermath of a traffic accident that took the lives of a woman and a teenager on Highway 75 just west of Nebraska City Sunday.
The victims are identified as Rachel Curry, who died at the scene, and Chloe Curry, 15, who died in the hospital.

WHITEVILLE, N.C. — A second man was arrested early Tuesday in the shooting death last week of State Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Conner last week in Columbus County, authorities said.
Chauncy Askew, 18, of Chadbourn, was apprehended in Loris, S.C., following an extensive manhunt, Columbus County District Attorney Jon David said during a news conference. He was being held without bond in Conway, S.C., awaiting extradition to North Carolina, where he will be charged with first-degree murder, David said.
Raheem Cole Dashanell Davis, 20, of Chadbourn, was arrested last Wednesday on a charge of first-degree murder and remains in the Columbus County jail.

DNA evidence obtained from the scene of 77-year-old John Roth's slaying in August led homicide detectives to identify 21-year-old Carey Lamont Reid Jr. as the perpetrator, Oceanside Police spokesman Tom Bussey said. Reid is known to be a transient who lives in Oceanside.

Lonnie Arrington, 48, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at Newark Penn Station, officials said Monday.
The search confirmed Arrington, of Newark, was wanted in connection with the death of Michael Shendock. The 38-year-old Voorhees man was shot to death on Sept. 23 in Newark.

Upper Arlington police say 27-year-old Mohamed Abdullahi was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse and arson.
Police said Abdullahi was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was a person of interest in the death of 23-year-old Bobbie Simpson. Police say DNA taken from Simpson's body matched Abdullahi.
