That was probably a good thing though they didn't. That could have lead to a very bad war especially with the Russians developing nuclear weapons as well during that time.
However, if that did happen and Russia got into the war then everyone would have been saying they should have taken the side of Deutschland in World War Jew to defeat the Russians.
