What do you make of Pierce's Cosmotheism? Tax fraud or something he truly believed in?

He speaks about it like he's serious in this book, but that could be to keep up appearances so that the government didn't find out.

Creating a religion is very hard, but I don't fault him for it. I don't think he really believed in it, but saw it is a way of giving his organization better conditions and work around the government's laws. Nothing wrong in that. We're in a struggle to the death against the Jews. 'Moral' plays a very small part of that.

Modern examples are rare. Maybe Hubbard's Scientology is the only one that has worked out since WW2. Want to create a religion? Look at what he did.
