I have heard about Flatland. When I was in college one of my math professors
said it was good. As Patrick Swayze said in the move Road House, "Opinions
vary."
Another book that I had to read in 8th grade English class was called
Zen Koans. It was a compilation of zen koans, or proverbs. You were
supposed to read these koans which often seemed odd and find the deep
hidden meaning to them. Most of these koans are related to the true nature
of Buddha. One I remember was "Buddha is a dung wiping stick."
I think I could have been okay with not reading this book.
