That thought occurred to me also. Edgar Steele is in the position of being officially hated because of who he defends as a lawyer and the ideas he expresses in public. Being officially hated means that you can't contract a murder because there's no contractor who you can safely talk to. Anyone who you ask will instantly calculate that there's more benefit to be had, with less risk, in betraying you than in helping you. That's not just true for an employee; it's also true for a professional killer working for a crime syndicate. He could buy indemnity for some of his own crimes, or for those of his crime bosses, by selling you to the federals.

What a whopping big lie. Shaun Walker, Matt Hale, Chester Doles, and lots of others, have been prosecuted on false charges for which all the federal evidence was faked.
