Evolving faster... but in which direction? Selection pressure since the invention of agriculture and urbanization has been towards disease resistance and fertility. Since the invention of welfare it has been towards fertility and perhaps away from intelligence.
But what about the fact that those on welfare are mainly breeding with others on welfare, while those of a particular social class strongly tend to marry within that class? Are we splitting up into 2 species like the Morlocks and Eloi in H.G. Wells' book "The Time Machine?"
