Default Atypical Form of 'Mad Cow' found in Alabama

They say the cow never made it to the livestock market. I guess the virus mutated, which is scary because this is a brain-wasting disease.

If you are lucky enough to live somewhere that has meat from local, smaller cow and dairy farmers I'd utilize it, so long as they are being health inspected and whatnot. We had a dairy farm near us once that sold milk that was unpasteurized, which I thought was scary as hell, but they never had a problem in decades because they were so clean in how they handled things. They also sold superior beef and chicken and cheeses.
