Default The Running Man ( '87 )

- - -

. . I've already mentioned that movie in other threads but this thread is about the movie per se.

- - -

It is a dystopic piece about a possible future of televsion.

The plot . .

In a dystopic future the world economy has collapsed and a police state rules with an iron fist.

Television is on the side of the state and a game show called 'The Running Man' is where delinquents ( traitors , enemies of the state . .) are given prey to powerful gladiators against whom they must fight . .

The movie starts with a policeman ( Ben Richards ) refusing to shoot into an unarmed crowd of rioters who wish for food. His colleagues arrest him for that . Another officer carries out the order and eliminates all rioters.

Richards is transferred to a detention zone where he and some buddies manage to make a jailbreak. But he is detected later on while trying to flee to Hawaii via a woman he has kidnapped snitching him.

He lands in the show 'The Running Man' and is shocked to see that his jailbreak-buddies are featured as candidates there as well . .

Well , they start the race . . . Richards , in the beginning with the help of his friends , later on his own , manages to destory all stalkers . .

In the end he and the woman who had snitched him but changed sides and then also landed in the show meet the underground-resistance and they manage to hack the government's channel . .
In the end the truth about the food-riot massacre comes out and Richards eliminates the showmaster of the show in quite an ironic way . .

- - - -

Wow . . .

. . not so far from possibility , no . . ?

First of all . . the NWO of which more and more people are aware truly is planning to install a police-sate . .

Second , TV-shows with people having to solve hurdles for money already exist.

- - - > in this dystopic vision the control of televison over society goes so far that delinquents against the tyrannical government even are more or less executed for the pleasure of the audience . .

Well , already , the police-force is always heroized on television . . https://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=553614 . .

And game-shows are quite popular . .

The story also bears resemblance to ancient Rome where the emperors let their enemies be executed in the arena for the "pleasure of the audience" . . .

Sign of a totalitarian state , clearly.

- - -

. . to sum this up . . television already has an enormous influence on the people. This movie deals with a peak of televsion . .

- - -

Further notices . .

The USA also is multicultural and in the show featured there are gladiators of all "tastes" . .

An Asian ice-skater armed with a giant pickaxe and a black fighter armed with a fiery weapon.

Also a message from the movie.

Gladiators of all tastes.

Everything which is supposedly on the side of the state in the movie is commended as being "patriotic" . .

- - -

. . quite a dystopic vision . .

I did like the way Arnold disposed of Cpl. Newkirk at the end.

Thank you for the positive feedback . .

I learned that a part of being a national socialist ( that's just one affiliation in our movement among many though ,there are libertarians , national anarchists et al , yet I myself am one ) is also to distrust the media.

. . I suppose one might also call the 'The Running Man' vision a dystopic lookout concerning America ( apart from it having clear NWO-allusions and also describing a dystopic future of television per se . . )

The USA were based on freedom and the European peoples . .

Freedom for settlers from Europe that is.

. . in this dystopic vision the USA is totally multicultual ( the movie was made in '87 and for the time it was done in it was very , very multicultural : Many blacks , many Latin-Americans , plus others . .)

Like I said , even the gladiators in the show are multicultural.

So . . multiculturalism . . .check.

Totalitarianism . . . check . .

Totally centralized government , rules by brute force , totalitarianism.

Also , the word cadre , the government in the movie , is often deemed as socialist slang . .

So . . a totalitarian America.

Last . . media control . . double-check.

Television , an instrument of the N.W.O. , now rules practically completely . .

. . there are told lies about events , the state is glorified , delinquents are executed live on tv for "pleasure of the audience" , lethal game shows for the winning of money are on the air etc etc . .

I had to think on that statement a bit but then it dawned to me that you meant one of Richard Dawson's other roles

He sucked as that showmaster though. .

. . even I prefer him as Newkirk.

the start of this movie, is eerily prescient eh?

a policeman who refuses to shoot into an unarmed crowd of homeless people, gets arrested.

sort of like the beginning of they live, where the police are destroying the homeless encampments. you actually see this on the news a lot, looks nearly identical to They Live beginning.

Bottom line, kikes and their gentile buttboys don't like the homeless for same reason they don't like Palestinians. Because they raped them and fear justice from them, as long as they are alive, there's someone out there with a great reason to kill them all

To add another anti-copper graphic . . https://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?...39#post2283139 . .

The cops more often than not are just an instrument to preserve the circumstances.

Summed up how I view the 'Running Man' vision . .

. . on the surface it deals with a totalitarian U.S.A. . .

Freedom has bitten the dust , a 'cadre'-government rules , people are re-educated ( see the story about Ben Richards' bother in the film ) , no dissent is tolerated.

Multiculturalism is glorified , multicultural gladiators , multicultural crowd etc . .

Furthermore it lays open the control of television over society and that the state-system and the alledged 'law-enforcement' is glorified in television.

Also it lays open that often the 'official version' of happenings as reported in the press cannot be trusted.

- - -

It is a welcome change in movies considering how many movies just fulfill the agenda of the N.W.O. . .

Unfortunately the USA are not headed into a good direction with for example that gun-banning debate...

Maybe totalitarianism really is around the corner...

Actually . . the dark-figure is much higher than that.

. . not that I'm in favour of the chinks but once again an example of Communist tactic . .

. . . what I like about this movie is . .

1 ) that it was one of the few occasions laying open the control television has over the people . .

2 ) that it laid open dirty secrets of state-manipulation.

Originally a novel it was made into a movie , that even though it is so critical of television . .

Man . . . those Asians.

As usual . . . only good at copying

The novel The Running Man, by Stephen King, was heavily influenced by this 1932 short story and movie:

Well . . if such a plot already was made up as early as '32 then the author sure was ahead of his time.

Now, keep in mind that The Most Dangerous Game had nothing to do with a "game show". What it pioneered was the idea of "hunting humans for sport" and played out in the context of a big game hunter who had bored of hunting lions and elephants and wanted instead to hunt "the most dangerous game" - humans. It was an idea translated into several movies and TV shows, even - surprisingly - an episode of Gilligan's Island whereby a big game hunter found the isolated castaways the perfect "big game" to hunt. And he started with "Gilligan":

Former movie and TV star Rory Calhoun played the hunter. He
was the only big-named actor to ever appear on Gilligan's Island

. . the sermon at the end of the movie is quite revealing.

" . . this is television , that's all it is. It's got nothing to do with people, it has to do with the ratings! . . FOR FIFTY YEARS WE'VE TOLD 'EM what to eat, what to drink . . what to wear . . .

For Christ's sake, Ben , don't you understand . .? !

Americans love television ! ! They WEAN THEIR KIDS on it ! !

. . listen, they love game-shows, they love wrestling . . they love sports and violence..

So , what do we do ? . . WE GIVE 'EM (((WHAT THEY WANT))) ! !

. . we're number 1, Ben . . that's all that counts !

. . believe me . . I've been in the business thirty years !!"
