And Ghislaine Maxwell has hardly been moving cave-to-cave.

France may not have an extradition treaty with the U.S., but that doesn’t explain why French authorities haven’t taken her into custody. It’s well-known that Jeffrey Epstein was a sexual predator who knew no geographic boundaries. Maxwell appears to have been his madam, his pimp, his enabler, his co-conspirator, and reportedly a sexual offender herself.

The world would be better off without her moving around in it. Yet it seems there are powerful people who disagree. What other explanation is there?

Maxwell is one of the world’s most wanted women, sought by the FBI for questioning. Yet before the lockdown, she was seen swanning around Paris, patronizing high-profile, four-star restaurants and cafés, dropping into art galleries, a scarf tied around her head as if she were Jackie O on Fifth Avenue.

These are the defiant actions of a remorseless woman who knows she is well protected. Her hiding seems almost performative. Maxwell isn’t hunkered down on a private island or on a yacht in international waters. Her whereabouts are well known.

Longtime Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested Thursday on a six-count indictment charging her with grooming young girls for sex.

The British socialite, 58, was arrested by the FBI in New Hampshire around 8:30 a.m., authorities said.

The just-unsealed indictment charges stem from Maxwell’s role “in the sexual exploitation and abuse of multiple minor girls by Jeffrey Epstein” as early as 1994, court papers say.

“The victims were as young as 14 years old when they were groomed and abused by Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom knew that certain victims were in fact under the age of 18,” the indictment says.

Judge Rules Virginia Giuffre's Lawyers Must 'Destroy' Jeffrey Epstein Files

Attorneys for Virginia Giuffre, who publicly accused Jeffrey Epstein of sex trafficking, must destroy files they obtained on Epstein after a Wednesday ruling by a federal judge.

Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking. Allegedly, Epstein procured women to have sexual relations with high-profile individuals, such as Prince Andrew. Information about Epstein, culled from a 2015 civil suit filed against Epstein by Giuffre, allegedly contained the names of individuals with whom Epstein had conducted business.

Senior U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ruled Wednesday that Giuffre's lawyers had come into possession of the documents improperly, noting that the protective order could only be enforced during the civil lawsuit proceedings which had already been settled. Preska wrote that all the materials in the files "shall be destroyed."

Preska also requested proof that the documentation had been destroyed. "Counsel shall submit an affidavit detailing the steps taken to do so," Preska's ruling added.

Ghislaine Maxwell ordered held without bail on child sex-trafficking charges

Ghislaine Maxwell was ordered locked up in New Hampshire on Thursday pending her transfer to face trial in Manhattan for allegedly recruiting underage girls so they could be sexually abused by her ex-lover, infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Maxwell, 58, waived her right to seek release on bond following her blockbuster arrest earlier in the day, although defense lawyer Lawrence Vogelman said she reserved the right to do so once in New York.

Prosecutors had filed legal papers ahead of the hearing that called the disgraced British socialite an “extreme” flight risk on grounds that she has three passports and $20 million in various bank accounts.

Maxwell didn’t enter a plea to the six felony counts in the indictment against her, which alleges that she schemed with Epstein — a financier who committed suicide following his arrest last year — and lied about it during a sworn deposition in 2016.

Alan Dershowitz told The Post on Friday that Ghislaine Maxwell should be “presumed innocent” — and that the feds’ sex case against her may fall apart because of statutes of limitation.

In 2008, the Harvard University law professor helped Maxwell’s perverted pal Jeffrey Epstein secure a plea deal with federal prosecutors in Florida while the sexual predator was under investigation for abusing underage girls.

Dershowitz also is embroiled in a lawsuit himself against Virginia Guiffre, who claims Epstein kept her as a teenage sex slave and forced her to sleep with both Prince Andrew and Dershowitz. The lawyer and royal both have vehemently denied this.
