Default #1 Brigitte Bardot campaigns against kosher slaughter in France

Quote:
Actress Brigitte Bardot has launched a campaign to ban the religious slaughter of animals in France.

Ms Bardot, along with six other animal rights groups, aims to put up more than 2,000 posters encouraging the government to outlaw both the Jewish practice of shechitah and the Muslim method, halal, of killing animals.

The posters include a graphic image of a cow’s head.

Ms Bardot, 76, wants religious slaughter to be replaced “to prevent animals suffering."

She told AFP: "I can no longer accept that in order to please a god, animals have their throats slit like in the Middle Ages without being stunned beforehand.”

The star, who lives in St Tropez, is a longtime animal rights activist and has campaigned on issues including ending bullfighting and seal hunting, as well as . She set up the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals in 1986.

Ms Bardot has spoken against shechitah and halal on several occasions. Last year she wrote a letter to French President Nicholas Sarkozy calling on him to remember “France is a secular country” and oppose the practices.

Last year Ms Bardot joined Baywatch star Pamela Anderson in calls for Israel to stop religious men from wearing shtreimels (hats) trimmed with fur.

Ms Bardot, who reportedly had a long affair with Jewish singer Serge Gainsbourg, has been fined several times for inciting racial hatred. She is married to Bernard d'Ormale, a former adviser of France’s far-right party the Front National.

Good for her. If only more celebrities would come out against kosher/halal slaughter.

Default French women of spirit

Of course one does not expect to find anything like this on this side of the channel.

Brigitte Bardot calls Marine Le Pen 'modern Joan of Arc'

Former actress Brigitte Bardot says she hopes the far-right leader will be the saviour of France in a Paris-Match interview before her 80th birthday

Brigitte Bardot, the 1960s icon of liberated, bikini-clad French womanhood, has described the far-right leader Marine Le Pen as "the Joan of Arc of the 21st century" in an interview with Paris-Match.

The magazine published a topless photo of the former actress, taken in 1967 when she was 33, on its cover this week as she prepares to celebrate her 80th birthday in September.

"I am a native Frenchwoman and proud of it," Bardot said. "I mourn the fact that my beautiful country has deteriorated in every way. It's criminal to submit to these depths."

Now an animal rights activist, she is an outspoken supporter of Ms Le Pen's anti-immigration Front National party, which topped the vote in European elections earlier this year amid widespread discontent with the Socialist government over record unemployment and the stagnant economy.

"I hope she [Ms Le Pen] saves France. She is the Joan of Arc of the 21st century," Bardot said. Burned at the stake for heresy in 1431, Joan of Arc is a Roman Catholic saint, sometimes referred to as the "mother of the French nation".

Bardot was chosen in 1969 as the first model for images of Marianne, the female figure used as a national emblem of the French republic and displayed in many public buildings.

According to Paris-Match, Bardot "may not have changed the face of the world" but she did change "the way we live" with "her motto, 'liberty, equality, sensuality'".

She has often criticised Muslims and has supported Ms Le Pen's campaign to prevent schools from serving Halal meat.

She also spoke of her private life, saying she had taken delight in "loving passionately". Asked which of her lovers she had preferred, the thrice-married Bardot replied "the next one".

She said she wanted to be buried "alongside my animals" in the grounds of her villa in Saint-Tropez, where she hoped to find "the peace that has always been denied me during my lifetime".

The problem with animal rights campaigners in the UK is that they are very selective. They are content to speak out about Halal slaughter, but accidentally on purpose "forget" about the Kosher variety. Shechitah practice ought to be protested with equal vehemence. Cowards afraid of upsetting Satan's Chosen Maggots as usual.

Animal rights is ultra pc, mostly lesbians with daddy issues and men who live on lentils types, ie weirdos.

They don't campaign against halal, most of these morons simply say all animal killing is the same. They even oppose the RSPCA.

Animal rights types are actually anti animal welfare.

A typical example is the millionaire celebrity Russell Brand. They are not logical people. Obviously stunning an animal is more humane then slitting its throat, and letting it bleed to death while conscious while Ismamic or Jewish rituals are observed. If you cut deeply and severe the spinal cord and brain step, ie almost decapitating that's a very fast death, but they don't they only cut the arteries.

Post Brigitte Bardot arrested for being hateful

DAILYKENN.com -- Silly leftists.

They dismiss rioting, murdering, and blowing things up as an emotional release caused by an onset of exclusion and bigotry against Islam.

If only we were more inclusive, they say, Muslims would discard their savage behavior to sip tea and munch on crumpets with the rest of us.

However, when another dares to voice frustration over Islamic violence, hate-crime charges are levied and the accused faces the wrath of the law.

So it is with Brigette Bardot, the aging but quick-witted movie icon of mid-twentieth century.

Bardot is facing a $24,000 fine and jail time for expressing herself.

According to news reports, the 79-year-old wrote, “I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country.”

Her country, by the way, is France.

This is the fifth time Bardot has faced prosecution for expressing her opinion. She once lamented that France was being overwhelmed by foreigners. Her focus was on Muslim. That offense occurred back in 1997. Things have gotten much worse since them.

A year later she was cited for decrying the loss of French identity. Yes, it is a crime in France to say such things. The offense is termed "inciting racial hatred."

Bardot continued her outspoken honesty, costing her two additional convictions.

Her current row with the law will be her fifth.

Fortunately there is a growing sense of awareness among ethnic French who are awakening to the coarse reality that allowing their culture to be dispossessed constitutes neither racism nor hate. Rather, fighting back the Islamic invasion is profoundly logical.
