Default Joe Cocker

. . where do you stand on him ?

- - -

My personal opinion . . .

.. an example that even as a lowlife you can find your way in the music-business. .
. . may be shocking for fans of his that I have that opinion of him , but . . . consider the following....

He was an alcoholic through and through.

Some claim that that gave him his 'characteristic' voice ( his voice was deemed as being made 'of Sheffield-steel' ) but whatever.

Second , he only covered other songs . .

- - -

So what we have here . . an alcoholic into stealing melodies of others . .

He never wrote one note himself.

He only got famous with a 'little help from friends' . .

Hmmm . .

- - -

What remains to say is that , despite him being a lowlife alcie and only 'singing songs of others' , he was successful.

Well . . if I poured so much whiskey each day I probably also would have a voice sounding similar to "Sheffield-steel" . .

- - -

I once heard that whenever he was in concert a bottle of whiskey was standing next to his mic . .

- - -

Interesting . . how some people make their money . . . .

. . .

He probably "sits at the bar in Heaven" now.

Well . . not a too long life but certainly an interesting character.

He 'had all the fun' even though never writing songs himself and he had a booze at every concert.

Way to go . . hmmmm . . .

Well Joe , wherever you are now . . hope the whiskey is well.

. . keep pourin'.
