Post Police attempt to ban Britain First from all mosques and certain areas of town

The party is known for its “Christian patrols,” mosque invasions and anti-Islam protests in Luton.

Bedfordshire Police have sought a High Court injunction against the group’s leader, Paul Golding, and his deputy, Jayda Fransen, following “harassment” of communities in Luton.

In a statement, chief superintendent David Boyle told the Luton Herald & Post that the force is attempting to get the injunction “due to concerns that their presence in these areas could increase the possibility of disorder and antisocial behavior.”

The application, to be heard next month, will ask that Golding and Fransen be banned for three years from “entering any mosque or Islamic cultural center or its private groups within England and Wales without any prior written invitation.”

It also seeks to ban the pair from entering Luton’s Bury Park without police permission, and that they give at least two weeks’ written warning should they wish to enter Luton town center.

They would not be allowed to enter Luton more than once every two months should any consent be given.

Britain First says if the measures are granted, it could lead to other police forces seeking similar bans, effectively preventing them from campaigning in town centers across the country.

“If we don’t win, we are finished,” Golding told IBT.

“What we are dealing with here is a direct challenge to our right to exist as a political party.

“If Luton police can achieve such an injunction against a legally registered political party, then what’s to stop every other town in the country applying similar injunctions?

“We could end up being bled dry with endless court appearances and injunctions that simply make it impossible for Britain First to continue operating.”

The move comes a year after Bedfordshire Police launched another High Court application against Golding and Fransen in an attempt to ban them from Luton prior

Post Britain First Golding and Fransen banned from Luton for three years: also banned from every mosque in England

TWO leaders of Britain First have been banned from Luton town centre for the next three years.

Bedfordshire Police has successfully obtained a civil injunction against Britain First leader Paul Golding and deputy leader Jayda Fransen, preventing them from entering the town centre and Bury Park.

The order was agreed between Bedfordshire Police and Mr Golding and Ms Fransen who were legally represented at the High Court, on Thursday, August 11.

The injunction bans either Paul Golding or Jayda Fransen (either by themselves or by instructing or encouraging or giving permission to any other person) from:

Entering any Mosque or Islamic Cultural Centre or its private grounds within England and Wales without prior written invitation.
Being within a designated exclusion zone in the Bury Park area unless travelling via railway.
Causing, permitting, encouraging or inciting anyone to enter or remain in the designated exclusion zone in the Bury Park area unless travelling via railway.
Publishing, broadcasting, distributing or displaying, or causing or encouraging to be published, broadcast, distributed or displayed, any images or films showing anyone in these exclusion zones.

They can only enter the town centre of Bury Park area for attending court and must give the police chief notice before 5pm the day before any hearing.

The order also gives police the power of arrest should either party breach any of the terms of the injunction.

Mr Golding told police to 'let the fun and games begin' after he avoided jail for his involvement in a protest march in Bury Park on July 29.

The 34-year-old, of Beeches Close, London, pleaded guilty to the charge of wearing a political uniform under the Public Order Act 1936 at Luton Magistrates Court. He was handed a £450 fine but told police the group would arrange more protests in Luton.

He previously spoke out about the banning order from the police and said that Britian First is at risk of being 'bled dry with endless court appearances and injunctions that simply make it impossible for Britain First to continue operating'.

In a video uploaded to Youtube a month ago, Golding expressed his 'disgust' that 'once again we are being dragged to the High Court by Luton Police.

He added that Luton Police do 'all they can to oppose Muslim extremists' and said: "What we are dealing with here is a direct challenge to exist as a political party."

Assistant Chief Constable Mike Colbourne said following the result: "Applying for such an order is not a decision we take lightly, however we decided to take action following a number of incidents where these parties came into areas of Luton and caused community tensions.

"Luton is an incredibly diverse and vibrant town and we will not tolerate any individual who seeks to cause disharmony or provoke tensions within our communities.

"I would like to be clear that we would never seek to ban demonstrations or peaceful protest, however we have a duty to protect our communities and will always act in their best interests."

Post Paul Golding jailed

The former leader of Britain First has been jailed for eight weeks after breaching a court order not to enter a mosque.

Paul Golding, 34, who recently stepped down as head of the controversial nationalist party for family reasons, admitted contempt of court.

London's High Court heard that nine days after an injunction was imposed in August this year, Golding drove four Britain First members to the Al-Manar Centre in Cardiff for a "mosque invasion".

The injunction prohibited him entering any mosque in England and

Post 300 turn up to edl/bf London march

THE GUARDIAN – Fewer than 300 members of the far-right groups Britain First and the English Defence League turned up for their “march against terrorism”, a turnout castigated by opponents as a lame attempt to whip up Islamophobia in the wake of the Westminster attack.

The anti-Islam groups had organised separate demonstrations that finished on the Victoria Embankment, close to Westminster Bridge, where a terror attack 10 days ago killed four people and injured 50. A similar number of Unite Against Fascism (UAF) demonstrators convened a short distance away chanting “Racist scum”, but were kept at bay by several lines of police.

During the march itself, some UAF supporters got close to the Britain First marchers, among them Barry Kader, 23, from Bristol, who said: “Fascism needs to be challenged at street level. These marches can encourage people, it can help with their public support.”

Paul Golding, the leader of Britain First, who was released from prison in January for breaching a high court ban by entering a mosque, addressed supporters waving some of the 400 union jack flags made by his mother on Friday night.

Earlier, as the marchers moved from Charing Cross station, Golding’s mother Chris had said of the flags: “They really lift the march, they look lovely.”

Following a a recital of the Lord’s prayer, Golding warned his audience about east London’s Brick Lane and its apparent “mobs”, telling supporters he was also finding it impossible to eat tikka masala now because of the preponderance of halal meat. Golding added: “We are the face of the future.”

Yet the turnout must have been a disappointment. Britain First has 1.6 million Facebook followers and more than 2,700 had expressed an interest in going to the march.

Among those that did turn up was John Lillywhite, 78, who was on his debut demonstration and had turned up because he felt the the government didn’t understand the “threat” of Islam.

Despite an instruction from Golding not to talk to the media, Britain First organiser Angela Holbrooks, from Timperley, near Altrincham, Greater Manchester, said: “We need to keep our streets safe for our women and children, stop them raping our kids. If anyone says anything about Muslims, then they’re attacked. But the Muslims don’t want to integrate.”

Retired firefighter Steve Green, 52, from Gravesend, Kent, said he attended the march because he was scared of the growing Muslim population. “Politicians are doing nothing to protect us. They don’t want to mix. My daughter will be forced to wear a burqa at this rate.”

At the UAF counter-rally, which included representatives of trade unions, and faith and community groups, speakers praised the unity shown by Londoners following the Westminster attack and condemned attempts to use the attack to stir hatred and division.

Weyman Bennett, UAF joint secretary, said: “While we recognise that this despicable attempt to use the outrage of the Westminster attack to whip up hate fell flat, this should not be cause for complacency. These groups remain intent on stirring racial and religious hatred and must be opposed wherever they rear their head.

“The murder of Jo Cox, the shocking rise in hate crime, and the rise of the far right in Europe show that it is critical we unite against fascism, racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism at this time.”

A blog written for the Exposing Britain First group states: "I’ve been studying family history now for long enough to suspect that you aren’t completely British. Fransen is not a British name. So I decided to have a little dig around.

"Let’s start with your paternal grandparents; John Joseph Fransen, or rather Jan Jozef Wynand Fransen. Born in the Netherlands in 1927, Jan came to England with the Dutch Naval fleet."

The writer also examines the maternal side of Fransen's family and comes to the conclusion it's highly likely they were Jewish.

Woodpecker Britain First leader Jayda Fransen forced onto programme aimed at radical Islamists

BRITAIN First deputy leader Jayda Fransen is being "forced" to enrol in the Prevent programme - usually aimed at radical Islamists.

Fransen, 32, was jailed last month for 36 weeks for Muslim hate crimes.

One of her victims was then-pregnant Kelli Best whose child was later still born.

The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that Fransen has been enrolled on Prevent - usually used to de-radicalise Islamists - the people the far right activist claim to oppose.

An email leaked to the anti-fascist ABF Facebook page says: “I have some very disturbing news for you.

“In their latest assault on our movement the establishment is trying to force our fearless leader Jayda Fransen to take part in their Prevent strategy.

It added: “Jayda was warned recently that she must engage with an agent from Prevent due to visit her prison soon or she will face severe consequences.

“It is ridiculous that in a country where 23,000 known Jihadists are living, 400 of which have returned from Syria, and the government’s answer to the mayhem: silence conferences Christian patriots who speak out.

“True to her principled and uncompromising form Jayda has said she will be refusing to engage with Prevent.”

It adds: “She is willing to face the consequences whatever they may be for ignoring demands to engage with them.”

The rambling letter also criticised Theresa May’s government and Prevent for letting Parsons Green bomber Ahmed Hassan, 18, slip through the net.

At the end of the email Britain First begs its members to "chip-in" so they can support the "day-to-day" running of Britain First.

Prevent is part of the government’s CONTENT counter terrorism strategy that was set up in 2003.

It has previously been criticised for ‘promoting Islamphobia’ and spying on Muslim communities

Britain First deputy Jayda Fransen to move to seaside resort on release from prison

Jayda Fransen, 32, was convicted in March of three counts of religiously aggravated harassment and handed a 36-week prison sentence

The jailed deputy leader of far-right party Britain First has bought a seaside home in Northern Ireland.

Jayda Fransen, 32, was convicted in March of three counts of religiously aggravated harassment and handed a 36-week prison sentence.

She is expected to be released on licence from the jail in Kent on July 11.

Belfast Live reports she will later travel to her new two-bedroom home in Donaghadee, Co Down

Bought for just over £70,000, the two-bedroom property is in a secluded spot with beautiful views of the harbour and famous lighthouse.

It was used as her base during her initial court appearances in Belfast last year and she is expected to return there in July on her release from an English women’s prison.

Fransen became the subject of headlines around the world last November when the US President Donald Trump shared a number of her Islamophobic video posts.

She was suspended from Twitter along with Britain First leader Paul Golding. Twitter said her posts broke the company’s policy prohibiting “groups that affiliate with organisations that use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes

She was arrested with Golding, 36, over the distribution of leaflets and posting of online videos during a gang-rape trial in Kent.

Golding was convicted of the same offences and jailed for 18 weeks.

During their trial in January, the court was told Fransen visited a house she wrongly believed to be the address of Sershah Muslimyar, a defendant in the Canterbury trial.

Golding was cleared of uploading a video of that incident. The pair, both from Penge in south-east London, were arrested in May last year

As Britain First supporters left the courtroom they hurled abuse at court staff and members of the press, shouting “No surrender”.

When Fransen is released, it is thought she will spend the remainder of her sentence on licence.

She is facing separate legal action in Belfast following an incident at City Hall.

Jayda Fransen: Britain First deputy leader to face trial over 'threatening' Belfast speech on Islam

The deputy leader of Britain First is to go on trial over a speech made at a far-right rally in Belfast.

Jayda Fransen, who rose to international prominence after her Twitter posts were shared by Donald Trump, faces two charges related to her comments at the Northern Ireland Against Terrorism rally in August 2017.

District judge Fiona Bagnall said the 31-year-old, from Anerley in south-east London, would go on trial on 6 April as her supporters looked on from the public gallery.

Paul Golding, the leader of Britain First, was arrested while attending Ms Fransen’s previous court appearance in Belfast and is due at a hearing later this week over his own speech at the same rally.

A third person, understood to be 55-year-old far-right activist Paul Rimmer, from Liverpool, has also been charged over comments made at the same event.

Mr Golding and Ms Fransen face separate legal action in England over their activities with Britain First, which posts incendiary videos on social media and became notorious for its “invasions” of supposedly Muslim-majority areas, mosques and shops.

Ms Fransen is also charged with four unrelated counts of using threatening behaviour or language in a video filmed at a peace wall dividing Catholics from Protestants in Belfast last month.

The footage, which contained comments on Islam, was posted on social media from the unionist Shankill area. A date for that trial has not yet been fixed.

Following her court appearance on Tuesday, Ms Fransen posted a bizarre video from Belfast City Hall, showing her wearing red robes and sitting in the mayor’s ceremonial chair

She claimed Britain First supporters had been sending her messages and financial donations to fight for “free speech”.

Ms Fransen was accompanied by an independent unionist councillor, Jolene Bunting, who has openly expressed her support for Britain First and the far-right groups Traditional Britain and Generation Identity.

Ms Bunting was pictured on social media with Ms Fransen, Mr Golding and other Britain First members on Tuesday, but declined to comment on the nature of the meeting when contacted by The Independent.

Trial involving leaders of far-right group Britain First put back to the autumn

Paul Golding & Jayda Fransen

A TRIAL involving the leaders of far-right group Britain First for allegedly inciting hatred in Belfast has been put back to the autumn.

Proceedings against Paul Golding and his deputy Jayda Fransen were plunged into doubt following their imprisonment in England.

A hearing scheduled for last month at Belfast Magistrates' Court had to be postponed when the pair were convicted and jailed for religiously aggravated harassment in a separate case.

A new date in September has now been secured for the trial involving Golding, Fransen and two other defendants.

But defence lawyers are still seeking clarity around contact permitted between the Britain First leaders before the hearing gets underway.

Golding (36) and Fransen (32) are being prosecuted over speeches delivered outside Belfast City Hall.

The case relates to a 'Northern Ireland Against Terrorism' rally in August last year.

Golding and Fransen are charged with using threatening, abusive or insulting words.

Similar charges have also been brought against 60-year-old John Banks, of Acacia Road in Doncaster, south Yorkshire, and Paul Rimmer (55) of Modred Street in Liverpool.

All four accused deny the allegations against them.

Doubts about the trial being able to go ahead first emerged when Golding and Fransen were convicted and jailed Folkestone Magistrates' Court in March over unrelated charges.

Fransen was handed a 36-week sentence while Golding received 18 weeks.

The new contest date in Belfast has been fixed to ensure both have completed their prison terms.

Britain First leader Paul Golding could return to prison IN WEEKS

“FAKE” Facebook posts could land Britain First leader Paul Golding back in prison within weeks of being freed.

Golding, 36, was released from HMP Liverpool two weeks ago, having served half of an 18-week sentence for hate crimes against Muslims.

As part of his early release he was given strict conditions to abide by for the remaining nine weeks of his sentence, it is claimed.

The conditions forbid him from engaging in political activity and banned him from using the internet, according to a leaked Britain First email.

Despite this, within days of his release a Facebook page called Britain First - Taking Our Country Back posted a statement naming him and saying the party is ready to “move forward to bigger and better things".

Prominent Britain First supporter Jolene Bunting said these posts were fake but this hasn’t stopped him being reported to police for breaching his licence.

In the post on the page, which has since been shut down, it says deputy leader Jayda Fransen is no longer in the party and says the group will learn from previous “mistakes”.

It added: “Jayda Fransen is no longer a part of this organization

“Paul does admit keeping a close eye on events would prevent these mistakes being repeated.

“This is a time to move forward to bigger and better things.

“Regards HQ.”

The Daily Star knows of at least one person who has reported Golding to Kent Police, the county in which he lives, over the “fake” posts.

A spokesman for Kent Police refused to confirm or deny if an investigation was under way.

Mrs Bunting, a Northern Ireland councillor, also said that Fransen, 32, had not been removed from the party.

Golding was reportedly released from HMP Liverpool on Tuesday, May 8 and taken to his home in Kent by “two carloads of officers from SO15 counter-terrorism command”.

In a leaked email the far right group said: “Instead of catching terrorists, our guardians prefer to act as taxis for newly released prisoners.

“Paul was informed that, upon release, he would be subject to draconian license conditions that stop him from doing virtually anything, especially anything political.”

The email said that for the remainder of his nine-week sentence he was:

-Not to use the internet in any way

-Not to contact Jayda Fransen

-Not to engage in any political activities

-Not to leave his home address for nine hours

-Not to contact or associate with anyone in Britain First

-To surrender his passport to the police

-To provide details of his phone and car to the police

-Not to speak to the media

It added: “When deputy leader Jayda Fransen is released in 9 weeks time, she will face the same conditions for another four and a half months!

“Needless to say, we need to challenge these conditions as soon as possible in the courts.”
