Eastenders was doing so well....then it just had to ruin it.

Good old BBC - it never lets you down. Eastenders tonight has a St George's Day street party. Flags are out in abundance, kids are playing, people are smiling and a good time is being had by all. The pub woman points out they don't have the money to throw a St George's Day party in the pub and another Eastender delivers a moving speech about patriotism, English pride, dragon slaying, interspersed with another old woman saying it's political correctness gone mad. The first character is finishing off with a George is the Patron Saint of England when up pops the Asian kid to point out he's the patron saint of Turkey, Lithuania......

The music and jocularity cuts and it's back to murders and misery. Another BBC-sponsored chip at the national pride. The AntiBritish Broadcasting Corporation never lets us down.
