Ukrainian nationalists captured Brazilian citizen Rafael and brought him to the Security Service of Ukraine building in Kiev on Friday.

Lusvarghi stood accused of fighting alongside Luhansk (LNR) and Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) forces.

The Brazilian was convicted on terrorism charges and released in December after serving 14 months in prison, later the Ukrainian nationalists found his whereabouts in a monastery on Thursday.

The far-right group's members searched Lusvarghi's backpack, finding his belongings, photos and documents.

"In principle, he must either be killed or released. The SSU let him go, we do not beat him because we want that there would be order here," said one of the nationalists Evgenii Karas.

The SSU later took Lusvarghi into custody.
