UK Museum Removes Shrunken Heads From Display
UK Museum Removes Shrunken Heads From Display
Sep 14, 2020 Oxford University’s Pitt Rivers Museum has removed its famous collection of shrunken heads and other human remains from display as part of a broader effort to “decolonize” its collections. The museum, known as one of the world’s leading institutions for anthropology, ethnography and archaeology, had faced charges of racism and cultural insensitivity because it continued to display the items. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/oxfor...DKnwLlm_QOJG1- |

Basically what the museum is now doing is hiding some realistic examples of anthropology, ethnography and archaeology as expressed by other racial groups. Sad!
What is the purpose of such a museum if not to openly display such aspects of humanity? |
