Pictures of the Universe? come to this topic (56k WARNING!)
I wasn't quite sure where to put this, so i'll put it here. I've got a huge collection of really cool galaxies and planets, and I thought i'd share them.
i'll post the most astounding one first. This is an animated picture that first shows earth and then about 25 other planets in a size comparison. |

Be sure to label each picture so that we know the name of what we are looking at. And only put one picture in each page. There's nothing like a picture of the universe to keep us humble before the Creation. And such enormous beauty everywhere! Wow! Thanks! Last edited by banjo_billy; December 1st, 2007 at 09:41 AM. |

The Medusa Nebula- this Medusa is an old planetary nebula some 1,500 light-years away in the constellation Gemini. the nebula is associated with a dramatic transformation. The planetary nebula phase represents a final stage in the evolution of low mass stars like the sun, as they transform themselves from red giants to hot white dwarf stars and in the process shrug off their outer layers. Ultraviolet radiation from the hot star powers the nebular glow.
