Haiti: US evacuates embassy staff amid gang violence

The United States says it has airlifted non-essential embassy staff from Haiti, as the country spirals further into gang violence.

The Americans have also boosted security at their mission in the capital, Port-au-Prince.

It follows attacks by gangs on the airport, police stations and prisons this week. They are pushing for Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry's removal.

A three-day state of emergency has been extended by a month.

"Heightened gang violence in the neighbourhood near US embassy compounds and near the airport led to the State Department's decision to arrange for the departure of additional embassy personnel," the embassy posted on social media.

It added that the embassy will remain open.

The pre-dawn operation appeared to be conducted by helicopter, the AFP news agency reports, citing nearby residents who described hearing the sounds of aircraft blades overhead.

On Sunday, Germany's ambassador to Haiti also left, travelling to the Dominican Republic, along with other EU representatives, the German foreign ministry told AFP.

Now meet the jew Gilbert Bigio, Haiti's only billionaire, who is largely responsible for the chaos:

Quote:
Gilbert Bigio is a retired Haitian businessman. He is the founder of GB Group and Haiti's only billionaire. He was sanctioned by the Government of Canada for his involvement in arms trafficking and human rights violations in Haiti. Bigio is also the de facto leader of Haiti's Jewish community and an honorary consul to Israel.[1][2][3]

Bigio's name appeared in the 2021 Pandora Papers leak of secret offshore company documents by the ICIJ. In an accounting document from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein, Bigio was revealed as the buyer of Epstein's Mercedes Maybach at a price of $132,000.[4] Other leaked documents showed Bigio moving wealth to Miami and Switzerland through offshore companies in different tax havens.[5]
(...)
Bigio is from a Sephardic Jewish family from Aleppo in the Ottoman Empire (now Syria), whose family emigrated to Haiti in 1896. The family has also been involved in other commercial activities all throughout the country.
(...)
According to Bigio, he has not experienced antisemitism in Haiti.[9]
(...)
On December 2, 2022 the Government of Canada imposed sanctions against Bigio, along with two other Haitian businessmen; Reynold Deeb and Sherif Abdallah. The sanctions against Bigio was a response to his alleged participation in "gross and systematic human rights violations in Haiti and engaged in acts that threaten the peace, security, and stability of Haiti." The Canadian sanctions against Bigio were intended to stop the flow of illicit funds and weapons to armed criminal gangs in Haiti.[10][11]

Specifically Bigio is accused of supporting "illegal activities of armed criminal gangs, including through money laundering and other acts of corruption" according to a statement from the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs.[12]

The Billionaire Oligarch Who’s Enabling Haiti’s Murderous Gangs

Businessman Gilbert Bigio is facing penalties for his alleged involvement with the violence that’s engulfed the country during Prime Minister Ariel Henry’s corrupt reign.

Demonstrators carry a coffin covered with American, Canadian, and French flags and pictures of politicians as they protest the corrupt and violent regime of Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

In a stunning new development amid the smoldering crisis in Haiti, Canada has imposed stiff economic sanctions on Gilbert Bigio, who is often described as the richest man in Haiti. The Canadian foreign ministry accused Bigio, along with two other superwealthy Haitians, of using their economic power “to protect and enable the illegal activities of the armed criminal gangs” that are tearing the country apart. For years, Haitians have said Bigio and other oligarchs are complicit in the violence strangling the nation: This year 1,448 people have been killed, with another 1,005 kidnapped for ransom. Until now, however, the international community has stayed mostly silent about Haiti’s corrupt elite.

Canada’s bold move should end the mistaken view in the outside world that the gang violence, which has brought 60 percent of the capital, Port-au-Prince, to a virtual standstill, is nothing but savagery contained in poor neighborhoods. As one local online publication—the respected AyiboPost—explained, the Bigio family’s broad economic holdings include its own recently constructed private port of Lafito, just north of the capital. AyiboPost speculates that Canada may have information indicating that the gangs have been able to use the port to import some of the heavy weapons that are outgunning the beleaguered Haitian police.

The Bigio family is part of what is often called the “Syro-Lebanese elite”—the descendants of people who immigrated in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries from various parts of the Middle East. There are estimates that Gilbert Bigio, the 86-year-old patriarch, is worth $1 billion, although no one knows for sure. It is a matter of public record that in 2020 he bought a Mercedes Maybach luxury auto for $132,000, quite a statement in a nation where an estimated 4.7 million people—nearly half the population—are experiencing “acute food insecurity.”

That many outside of Haiti are ignorant about these influential oligarchs is actually something of a surprise. Back in the early 1990s, after most of the wealthy supported the overthrow of the democratically elected President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, foreign diplomats, including a U.S. ambassador, called them “morally repugnant elites,” or MREs for short. The appellation was inspired by the emergency rations known as “meals ready-to-eat.”

Daniel Foote, the former U.S envoy to Haiti who resigned in September 2021 to protest against the disastrous American policy, told me that he thinks Canada and the U.S. State Department are working together to economically punish Bigio and the others. But he suspects that the United States cannot follow Canada’s example by imposing stiff sanctions, possibly because Bigio may be a U.S. citizen and thus entitled to due process. In theory, however, U.S. prosecutors could bring cases against Bigio and other oligarchs for funding the vicious gangs whether these defendants have U.S. citizenship or not. As things stand, inaction is much more likely.

Why do some members of Haiti’s elite pay and even arm the gangs? There are several explanations. In conversations with well-placed Haitians who understandably asked for anonymity, several theories emerged. All agreed that the gangs today are largely paramilitary allies of the PHTK, the political party that has dominated Haiti for the past decade with a combination of election fraud and violence. These oligarchs have a vested interest in maintaining this alliance. A large-shop owner explained that Haiti’s elite profits from monopolizing certain strategic imports—the Bigios control steel—and so they cooperate with the ruling party to maintain that economic power.

Well, that's the most important thing. I mean, who cares about the rapes, murders and cannibalism as long as the country's jews don't experience "antisemitism".

Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry resigns as law and order collapses

By Will Grant, Central America correspondent & James Gregory
BBC News

Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry has agreed to resign following weeks of mounting pressure and increasing violence in the country.

It comes after regional leaders met in Jamaica on Monday to discuss a political transition in Haiti.

Mr Henry is currently stranded in Puerto Rico after being prevented by armed gangs from returning home.

In a video address announcing his resignation, Mr Henry urged Haitians to remain calm.

"The government that I am leading will resign immediately after the installation of [a transition] council," Mr Henry said.

"I want to thank the Haitian people for the opportunity I had been granted. I'm asking all Haitians to remain calm and do everything they can for peace and stability to come back as fast as possible."

Mr Henry, who had led the country supposedly on an interim basis since July 2021 following former President Jovenel Moïse's assassination in July 2021, had repeatedly postponed elections, saying security must be restored first.

Many Haitians had questioned him governing the country for this long without an elected president.

Does viral video show Haitian gang eating human body parts? Truth behind the incident

Amid escalating gang violence in Haiti, a disturbing video has surfaced on social media, showing an alleged gang member engaging in cannibalism

Amid escalating gang violence in Haiti, a disturbing video has surfaced on social media, showing an alleged gang member engaging in cannibalism. “Disturbing footage of the Haitian cannibal gang eating body parts of one of their victims as he cooks in the fire,” an Instagram post reads. The same video has been shared across other social media platforms, including X.

The video shows a man chewing on something that looks like a human finger. He then proceeds to tear flesh out of the leg of a person seen burning.

The truth behind the video

The video has not been independently verified by any news agency. However, according to Times Now, agencies on social media have revealed that the video is two years old and has nothing to do with the current unrest. Although the incident may be true, it is not related to the current situation in the Caribbean nation. One user shared the video with the caption, “It turns out that this video is from over 2 YEARS ago of a battle between the Gran Grif and Ti Mepri gangs in the Artibonite Valley. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier or today's uprising. The man pictured did this gruesome act to terrorize his rivals.” The post added that the reports came from journalists who covered the Haiti situation for years.

NEW: Pentagon officials anticipate 'mass migration' of Haitians amid chaos in Caribbean

"At the moment we have not yet seen large numbers, what we would characterize as a maritime mass migration, but we are alert to that possibility. I think you’re right that the driving conditions in Haiti could very well press more people."

Hannah Nightingale Washington DC
Mar 12, 2024

During a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, Department of Defense officials testified that they are preparing for the possibility of an influx of Haitian illegal immigrants coming to the US as the Caribbean nation has fallen into chaos.

Rep Matt Gaetz pressed the officials during the hearing to state "what we are doing to prepare for that wave and to ensure that these people are not paroled into the United States as the administration has done with people on the southern border, but instead are repatriated back at the dock at Port-au-Prince?"

Florida border agents placed on high alert for refugees following breakdown of order in Haiti

By Jennie Taer
Published March 12, 2024, 4:05 p.m. ET

Border agents in Miami have been told to prepare for a wave of migration from Haiti following the takeover of the country by bloodthirsty gangs, The Post has learned.

An internal agency email leaked to The Post pointed out it is unlikely Haitians who take to the sea and enter Florida illegally will be repatriated back to their home country, given its instability.

The message also warned that one vessel of migrants landing would overwhelm agency capabilities in the area.

“One landing will cripple the station and our ability to respond to other traffic,” the email to agents read.

We only have two words for you regarding the ongoing crisis in Haiti: Gilbert Bigio.

That's it. Gilbert Bigio.

He is Haiti's only billionaire. And... He is Jewish. A Syrian Jew from Aleppo, to be precise.

Beyond that, he is in fact the leader of Haiti's tiny 25-person Jewish community. He owns Haiti's only "Torah", is the honorary consul of 'Israel', and just so happens to fly a huge Tumorite flag outside his mansion. The Jewish Virtual Library reveals all these tzitzit-tidbits and calls Bigio a "well-to-do businessman".

What the Jewish Virtual Library DOESN'T say about this "well-to-do businessman" is that he is the one enabling the murderous, allegedly cannibalistic gangs tearing Haiti apart. He also propped up the Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier dictatorships previously, along with his fellow Jews, like the Weiner family, who control Haiti's coffee trade.

We are told the gangs are led by a man named "Barbecue" who was a member of a riot squad police force. And guess what? It ain't just America training Haiti's repressive cops. It's also none other than the usurping Zionist entity. And do you know who cooperates closely with IOF? The Bigio family.

When the revolution started by Toussaint L'Ouverture (R.A.) freed Haiti from colonialism, what it actually facilitated was freedom from the Jews. Some of Haiti's earliest settlers were Brazilian Jews as the World Jewish Congress admits, and*we know, thanks to the Nation of Islam's "Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, that the Jews of Brazil were predominantly slave-traders.

The Jewish Telegraph Agency says these "Marranos" were all killed or expelled by L'Ouverture, inadvertently confirming their role in the slave trade.

The Jews never forgave Haiti for throwing off its Jewish shackles and casting out its Jewish shacklers. Bigio is all but pursuing Talmudic revenge for his predecessors.

Therefore... Whose fault is Haiti's current plight? The Jews' fault. Every. Single. Time.

Gov. DeSantis dispatches soldiers to protect Florida against Haiti migrants fleeing upheaval

By Ryan King
Published March 13, 2024, 6:45 p.m. ET

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis revealed plans Wednesday to dispatch over 250 soldiers and other assets to safeguard the Sunshine State against potential illegal immigrants from Haiti.

DeSantis’ move comes in response to a wave of gang violence and widespread upheaval that has rocked the Caribbean island due to a political vacuum that has plunged the nation into what some experts have described as a near civil war.

“For quite some time, the State of Florida has been dedicating significant resources to combat illegal vessels coming to Florida from countries such as Haiti,” the governor said in a statement.

Gangs are estimated to control 80% of Haiti’s capital city Port-au-Prince, according to estimates from the United Nations.

Haiti is located more than 700 miles off Florida’s coast. Over 276,000 Floridians are estimated to have been born in Haiti.
