Romania to build Holocaust memorial, premier says

Bucharest - Romania will press ahead with plans for a national Holocaust memorial, Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu said Monday. Tariceanu said work would soon commence at the site in the centre of Bucharest, the capital, to commemorate some 400,000 Romanian Jews and Roma killed under a Nazi-allied regime during World War II.

"The Holocaust must not be denied or forgotten, and it must never be repeated," Tariceanu said in a written statement ahead of Romania's October 9 Holocaust memorial day, introduced four years ago.

The memorial is to use a design by Romanian-born sculptor Peter Jacobi, who lives in Germany.

It envisions a seven-metre high building with a glass roof and metal beams. Light and shadows are reflected on the floor of black, polished granite.

A Star of David sculpture is to be erected beside the building in addition to a wheel, which has symbolic value for the Roma minority.

"Construction in Bucharest of a memorial to victims of the Holocaust will start soon," Tariceanu said. He gave no specific date.

Romanian authorities insisted well into the post-communist era that what happened under the World War II regime could not be labelled part of the Holocaust.

In 2004, the government accepted the findings of an international panel chaired by Nobel Peace laureate Elie Wiesel that implicated Romanian civilian and military authorities in 1940-44 in mass killings and deportations.

Some 280,000 - 380,000 Romanian Jews died in Romania and Romanian-occupied areas, and 25,000 Roma were deported, about half of whom died, the report said.

October 9 marks the start of mass deportations of Romanian Jews to a then Romanian-occupied part of the Soviet Union. Tens of thousands perished in so-called death marches into areas east of the Dniestr river.

Some 800,000 Jews lived in Romania before World War II. Most of the Holocaust survivors emigrated to Israel and about 9,000 Jews now live in the country.

Resigning Israeli MP: Don't come to Romania

Israeli member of Romanian parliament warns of anti-Semitic wave, says Jews being blamed for financial crisis

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...608120,00.html

Nati Meir, a former Israeli currently serving a member of the Romanian parliament, has announced on Sunday his plans to stand down from his position, due to increasing number of Anti Semitic incidents in Romania.

Meir is expected to submit his resignation on Monday, but for the moment he is taking the opportunity to warn Israeli businesspeople who are working in the country.

"Jews are going to be facing some tough times here. The era of Israeli growth in Romania is over. I would seriously think twice about coming here," Meir told Ynet.

In regards to the situation in Romania and the reasons for his resignation, Meir said that "currently there is a wave of Anti Semitism. I've been living here for the last 13 years, and it's only getting worse with each passing year. If this is the situation we face, and I as a parliament member see these things, and I have no right to respond to it, I decided to do something. The Nationalist Party is dancing on Jewish blood and no one is standing up and saying it's illegal. If I didn't take this step, then where would we be?"

'Jews are always at fault'

In response to the various stories in the local press and television, criticizing the scope of the Activities carried out by Israeli real estate developers, Meir said "they claim that the Israelis stole their lands. That it's because of us that there is a financial crisis. The Jews are always at fault and no one reacts, no one cares, and the papers publish the same stories over and over again."

According to Meir, Israeli investors should be careful and reconsider their plans in Romania. "

Many of the Israeli companies that come here need to understand that there is a problem of anti-Semitism. The time of Jewish growth in Romania is gone, and tough times are ahead. As soon as they blame the Israelis, who knows where it will end, be careful about coming to Romania."

Meir added that due to the recent outbreak of ant-Semitism, his family is seriously considering moving back to Israel.

Cemetery desecration: Romanian Jews denounce the authorities indifference

Original article: www.ejpress.org/article/31532

29/Oct/2008

BUCHAREST (EJP)---Several dozens of members of the Jewish community in Romania denounced on Wednesday the authorities' indifference” after over 130 graves and over 100 monuments were destroyed in the Jewish Cemetery in Bucharest last week.

Unknown vandals knocked over and in some cases destroyed the headstones in the cemetery where at least 35,000 Jews are buried, including victims of the Holocaust.

The desecration took place during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

Police opened an investigation but assured that it was not an anti-Semitic action.

"All devastated tombs are mine,” renowned Romanian actress Maia Morgenstern declared during a gathering at the cemetery, complaining about what she called the bureaucratic and administrative indifference.

She added that local authorities intend to transform the unacceptable in acceptable and underlined the lack interest displayed by authorities.

Romanian Elie Wiesel Institute executive director Alexandru Florian declared that in Romania there are not only indirectly racist expressions or symbols but also actions based on such thinking.

"One week ago, anti-Semitic violence has reached its peak,” he added.

At the meeting, he read letters from both the President and the Prime Minister’s Chancellery condemning such acts.

Two weeks ago Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced the construction of a monument dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust in the centre of Bucharest.

The European Jewish Congress (EJC) has called on the Romanian government to take measures to find those responsible."We urge the government to see that justice is carried out and to promote a policy of tolerance and education in Romania in order to prevent such actions. This is the most relevant response," said Moshe Kantor, the EJC's president.

"Condemnation of these attacks is important, but it is equally important that justice is achieved. The EJC is committed to developing tools and educational programs to encourage tolerance and understanding in Europe."

Around 400,000 Romanian Jews were killed by the Nazi regime during WWII.

Romania has struggled to come to terms with its role in the Nazi extermination of Jews. It denied any participation in the Holocaust until an international commission chaired by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel said in 2004 that Romanian authorities had killed up to 380,000 Jews in territories under their control.

Under pro-Nazi Marshal Ian Antonescu, Romania became a German ally in 1940 but switched sides just before the war ended.

The Jewish community currently numbers around 10,000 people.

"The Jews are always at fault and no one reacts, no one cares, and the papers publish the same stories over and over again."

See thats simply brilliant and to the point..
facts always win against jew-lies, because truth, like Life itself, is an "antisemite"...

Wonderful to see the spirit of Codreanu and his Iron Guard..

"I could not define how I entered into the struggle. Probably like a man who, walking the street, with his preoccupations, his needs and his own thoughts, surprised by the fire which is consuming a house, takes off his jacket and rushes to give help to those who are the prey of flames. With the common sense of a young man of twenty or so, this is the only thing I understood in all I was seeing : that we were losing the Fatherland, that we would no longer have the Fatherland, that, with the unwitting support of the miserable, impoverished and exploited Romanian workers, the Jewish horde would sweep us away. I started with an impulse of my heart, with that instinct of defense which even the least of the worms has, not with the instinct of personal self-preservation, but of defense of the Race to which I belong. This is why I have always had the feeling that the whole Race rests on our shoulders, the living, and those who died for the Fatherland, and our entire future, and that the race struggles and speaks through us, that the hostile flock, however huge, in relation to this historical entity, is only a handful of human detritus which we will disperse and defeat... The individual in the framework and in the service of his Race, the Race in the framework and in the service of God and of the laws of the divinity: those who will understand these things will win even though they are alone. Those who will not understand will be defeated."

Great men in history are always the enemy of the kike.

Corneliu Zelea Codreanu – Present!
Militant members of the Noua Dreapta movement from accross the country took part in the commemoratve march that marked 70 years from the sacrifice of Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, the man who layed the foundations of the Leginary Movement.
The march started from Bucharest and took the people all the way down to Tancabesti Forest, the place where Corneliu Codreanu and 13 other major figures of the movement were cowardly assasinated on the 29th/30th of November 1938, at the order of King Carol II; thus they are now the martyrs of our people. A religious service was held at the cross that was errected on the spot of their assasination, and after the service, Mr. Tudor Ionescu, the leader of Noua Dreapta, mentioned in his speech:
„This march is our testimony of faith. It is the proof that the enemies of the Legoin have not reached their ultimate goal. Through this march, which today was held for the 10th consecutive time, the Captain is still amongst us even after 70 years have passed since his physical removal. This march makes the ideas for which the Captain gave his life, as relevant as they were 70 years ago.”
Nationalist delegations from France, Spain (La Falange), Germany (NPD), Bulgaria (BNS) and Slovakia (Slovenska Pospolitost) also attended the march.

Noua Dreapta National Day March
Noua Dreapta militants and followers celebrated the National Day of Romania in the city of Bucharest, through a march that culminated in a mass-meeting at which Tudor Ionescu, the leader of the movement, together with several other friends of Romania held firing speaches (Felipe Perez – La Falange/Spain, Jens Puhse – NPD/Germany, Boian Rassate – BNS/Bulgaria, Michal Lassak – Sloenska Pospolitost/Slovakia, Chrisophe Lespagnon - France).
We thank to all who did not hide their pride of being Romanians, and who were together with us during this moment of joy and celebration!

jewsign Jew thinks it's Obama

THE ROMANIAN STATE DESERVES AN OBAMA!

I am Nati Meir, romanian citizen with Israeli origin and I have the advantage of being born, raised and having leaved in capitalism. In Romania I had the honour of being elected deputy in the Romanian Parliament in the legislature 2004-2008 and I had the occasion of getting involved at national level in solving the problems of this country. As member of the Committee for human rights, cults and national minorities issues I have especially fought for the rights of those persons deprived of liberty, for the improvement of the conditions of detention and their alignement to the U E standards. As elected of the population of Tulcea county in the Romanian Parliament I was inwards and materially nearby the persons who were inflicted by the desastrous overflow of year 2006.
As result of my activity I have achieved to obtain a personal fortune which raise me above any suspicions which have floated around other candidates from the romanian political spectrum.
These aspects and my quality of leader, proven of my political and economical activity entitle me of putting my candidacy for the presidential elections from the autumn of this year taking into consideration that more candidates will conduct to amplify the competition which will bring that change expected from the romanian people..

I invite you to join my demarche by signing this appeal.

I thank you all

Nati Meir

Nati Meir (born 23 May 1955) is a Romanian politician and businessman of Jewish origin. He lived in the past in Israel where practiced business. Currently he is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies.

He became a deputy on the lists of the extreme right wing Greater Romania Party; he was independent from April 2005 till June 2007, when he joined the Democratic Party.

His political and business activities and choices were disputed.

The Guardian newspaper states that, in the beginning of the 90’s, Nati Meir served a 30 month jail sentence in Israel. He was accused of identity fraud, more specifically of impersonating a lawyer, as he presented himself as “Lawyer Nati Meir”. The tribunal stated that Meir chose to lead a life of crime. However, these statements are proven false by the Member of Parliament’s political and economic activities. He received his Romanian citizenship in 1999 and the current Romanian legislation does not allow the granting of citizenships to people who were convicted in their countries. Also, in 2002, he obtained a license for a security company; the Romanian legislation forbids people who were convicted in their own countries to obtain this license. Finally, he was elected as a deputy in the Romanian Parliament, in the 2004-2008 legislation.

In December 2006, only one day after the prisoners’ revolt ceased, the prosecutors of the Romanian Supreme Court sent Nati Meir to court on estimated damages of 300 million ROL(11,000 US$). Previously, the case had received 3 NUP (No Penal Follow-up). The prosecutors say that the damages originate from erroneous recordings of Romanian workers’ contracts that were bound to leave for Israel. Nati Meir, is accused, by the prosecutors, of intellectual fraud, tax evasion by purloining tax payments and defrauding 129 people, whom he promised work contracts in Israel.

Member of Parliament Nati Meir, later declared on DDTV, popular television channel, that out of 123 workers whom reported him: 119 were paid back in full and the remaining 4 could not be found. Nati Meir’s trial is still in process but keeps getting postponed due to lack of witnesses.

In 1999, he received his Romanian citizenship. This invalidates any claims that he was convicted in Israel- see Romanian Constitution and Law 21 from 1991. True to the Romanian Constitution and Electoral Law, he could not run for a seat in the Romanian Parliament, if he had prior convictions and therefore, in 2004 he was elected as a deputy in the Romanian Parliament.

On November 27th 2003, he was named as foreign policy advisor to the Greater Romania Party president, Corneliu Vadim Tudor. He tried to change public and international perception of the Greater Romania Party, which was labeled as “anti-Semitic” and “extremist”. He tried to do so, not only by his presence in the party but also, by mediating the hiring of renowned electoral management company, Arad Communications from Israel, which did not ultimately secure the victory of the Greater Romania Party leader in the elections.

Nati Meir was elected as a deputy in Tulcea County, in the 2004-2008 legislation, on the Greater Romania Party’s lists however, he left the Greater Romania party in February 2005. From February 2005 till June 2007, he was an independent deputy in the Romanian Parliament. In June 2007, he joined the Democrat Party whom he left after 2 weeks; after which he reverted back to being an independent deputy. He is a member of the Human Rights, Cults and National Minority Issues Committee.

In February 2005, as a Greater Romania Party deputy he publicly confronted an article in “Tricolorul” newspaper, controlled by the Greater Romania Party, the article vehemently denied the existence of a Jewish Holocaust during World War II. He immediately asked Corneliu Vadim Tudor to retract the article from the newspaper. He was immediately excluded from the Greater Romania Party by Corneliu Vadim Tudor and is since an independent deputy in the Romanian Parliament.

In December 2006, he was involved in a disputed law due to a legislative proposition regarding the collective pardoning of some prisoners. This proposition led to a wave of revolts in Romania’s prisons; with 26 prisons and over 6,500 prisoners having participated.

On the Chamber of Deputies website, Nati Meir has 9 legislative propositions, some on the pardoning of prisoners serving prison sentences of less than 5 years. These propositions date from June, July, August and October 2006. Two of these propositions were withdrawn by the deputy. Through these legislative propositions, circa 10,000 inmates would be pardoned starting from the 1st of January 2007. Although it was given many favorable references, it did not pass through Parliament having only been supported by the Social Democrat Party and a few independent deputies.

In the beginning of May 2008, the deputy initiated a new legislative proposition regarding the pardoning of prisoners. He asked for public support to initiate this project. He did this by going on popular television channels, OTV and DDTV, posting messages on his blog and started an Online Petition. To avoid being accused of incitement to revolt, he asked the prisoners in numerous press releases not to revolt.

Deputy Nati Meir is married and has four children from his marriage and one (Or Meir) from his second marriage.

In 2005 he claimed that he inherited $2 billion from an American relative (about whom he refused to give any details), whereas $86 million were transferred into his accounts.

Default Romanian Mayor Cited for Wearing WWII German Uniform

Reported: 17:45 PM - Jul/20/09

The Centre for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism sent a letter to Romania's general prosecutor Monday, urging an investigation of Mayor Radu Mazare of the Black Sea port of Constanta after he goose-stepped with his son in World War II German uniforms during a weekend fashion show, according to Reuters. Wearing a Nazi uniform is illegal in Romania.

Mayor Mazare said the uniform belonged to a German infantry general, had no swastikas and nothing to do with the SS. Newspaper Evenimentul Zilei quoted him as saying."I was inspired from the Valkyrie movie [about an assassination attempt on Nazi leader Adolph Hitler -ed.]... I wanted to dress like a Vehrmacht general because I've always liked this uniform, and admired the rigorous organisation of the German army,"

Romania denied participating in the Holocaust until 2004 when it accepted the findings of an international commission that Romanian authorities killed up to 380,000 Jews in territories under their control. Under pro-Nazi Marshal Ian Antonescu, the country became a German ally in 1940 but switched sides just before war ended.

Corneliu Codreanu and the New European Empire According to Julius Evola

In March 1938, one month before Codreanu’s imprisonment, a meeting between Codreanu and Julius Evola, the famous Italian traditionalist, took place in Bucharest. Evola wrote a very important article about Codreanu´s thoughts on the struggle of the Iron Guard.

According to this, Codreanu characterized the national movements of the time as follows: “He said that there are three principles in every organism: Form, Vital Energy, and Spirit. A movement for national rebirth could not develop if it placed its emphasis on one principle or another. If one follows Codreanu, in Fascism the Form-principle is the leading political idea that the State has priority. The heritage of Rome is here the organizing energy. In German National Socialism, on the other hand, special weight is given to the principle of Vital Energy. This is where the concern about race comes from. The myth of race, with its recognition of blood and the national racial community, stands at the center of National Socialism. For the Iron Guard, in contrast to these, the Spiritual element is of central significance, with religious and ascetic values, which for Codreanu are closely related.” (Evola, Il mio incontro con Codreanu).

There is no doubt which of the three principles Evola ascribed the greatest weight to. For a long time he had been criticizing the reduction of Fascism to State-worship and a new bureaucracy. In his opinion, Fascism had to choose between the Roman Empire and Italy: between the Roman Empire, which is also an important heritage for Romania, and Italy, the revolutionary, freemasonic state that arose out of the unholy spirit of the French Revolution, corresponding to the current Romania of party squabbles.

In National Socialism, Evola certainly welcomed the racial ideas in one respect, but openly criticized its formulation in the terms of biological materialism. For Evola, the racial soul was of greater significance than the material basis of heredity. This view was clearly connected with his refusal of the so-called “theory of evolution,” that materialistic invention of Darwin’s, which, together with Marx and Freud, Evola considered as the lowest drivel of the materialistic period.

Evola was in quest of a national movement that would help the spiritual principle to break through. He and a few friends had tried to influence Fascism accordingly. He thought that he had discovered in National Socialism, with the SS, the attempt to found a new ascetic Order. In fact, the intention of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler’s was to lay a net of castles of the SS Order all over the new Greater-German Reich, which would take over its rule after the death or retirement of the Führer, thus thwarting the development of a new bureaucratic hegemony. But what was the spiritual principle of this ambition? Beside the adoration of the Führer (the Form principle) and the belief in the superiority of the Nordic race (the principle of Vital Energy) there was not much room left for the Spirit: merely an exoteric rune-cult, supposed to evoke the spirit of the Germanic antiquity. Here Evola saw a chance of introducing his doctrine of Tradition, but this met with mistrust and incomprehension. As the records of the NS authorities show (see Julius Evola nei documenti segretei del Terzo Reich, Edizioni Europa, 1986), it was this concept of soul-race that upset them. They could issue certificates of Aryanism, but in no way could they meet Evola’s hopes for the Aryan warrior in the spiritual sense.

The Iron Guard, on the other hand, seemed to correspond to the ideal that Evola was seeking. He particularly approved of the name they had chosen: “Legion of the Archangel Michael.” Evola mentions the importance that fasting and prayer had for Codreanu. “By prayer he understands inner composure and the gathering of energies.” This had nothing to do with his former interpretation of Christian prayer, in the spirit of Nietzsche, as nothing but crawling and debilitation. Evola would later write about ascesis in the context of Buddhism (La dottrina del Risveglio, 1943: Eng. tr., The Doctrine of Awakening, Rochester, VT, 1997). There he argues the idea that Buddha taught nothing other than the original Indo-Germanic values, lost to us today because Buddhism had fallen under Asiatic influence.

Here we must address the “outer” relationship to the Christian Church and to the Nation. Evola preserves Codreanu’s words:

“We are trying, in general, to put life into this religion which has become very mummified–the mere traditionalism of a clergy who have gone to sleep–in the form of national awareness and living experience. Furthermore, we find ourselves in a condition that is foreign to our religion: that of dualism between faith and politics, which produces an ethic and a spirituality that have no political consequences. The Iron Guard movement is removing a fundamental idea from our religion: that of ecumenism. This is a positive denial of any internationalism, any abstract and rational universalism. The idea of ecumenism is that of a society as a unity of life, as a living organism, as a “life” not only with our folk, but also together with the dead and with God. The realization of such an idea in the form of an actual experience is the center of our movement: politics, party, culture, etc., are just consequences and incidentals to us. We will revitalize this central reality and thereby renew Romanian man, so that he can finally act and also construct the nation and the state. It is a very important point to us that the presence of the dead in the ecumenical nation is not abstract, but real: the presence of our dead, and especially of our heroes.”

We cannot go here into detail about how closely these thoughts correspond to many of those of the Austrian Catholic thinker Othmar Spann, who had also influenced Evola at this period. Together, they showed Evola a living spiritual nationalism (or ecumenism), in contrast to the philosophical concepts on paper.

Consequently Evola was shaken, after Codreanu’s imprisonment, when the news reached him at the beginning of December 1938 of Codreanu’s shameful murder by the state authority. (see his article Dopo l´assassinio di Codreanu: la tragedia del legionarismo romeno)

During the war years, Evola devoted himself to understanding the significance of the World War. He tried to comprehend war not as an evil to be put up with, but as the opportunity for the development of heroic energies and for the formation of a new man. “A lot will now depend on how the individual can form his experience of battle: on whether he is able to accept heroism and sacrifice as a catharsis, as a means to liberation and inner awakening. This inward, invisible deed of our warriors has nothing to do with gestures or grand words, but it will be of decisive significance not only for the eventual victorious conclusion of this stormy time’s events, but also for giving form and meaning to the Order that will arise from victory. [...] This new man will vanquish everything tragic, obscure, and chaotic in himself, and will constitute the start of a new development in the time to come. According to ancient Aryan tradition, such heroism on the part of the best men can work as an evocation, and re-establish the contact between the world and the higher world that has been weakened for centuries.” (Die arische Lehre von Kampf und Sieg, Vienna, 1941) Who embodies this contact, if not the Archangel Michael?

But the War did not end as Evola had hoped, and Europe was divided between the powers of Bolshevism and Americanism. What had the Axis Powers done wrong? Evola put his thoughts on the faults of Fascism and National Socialism into his work Il fascismo. Saggio di un’analisi critica dal punto di vista della Destra (1970). He called his point of view that of the “authentic Right.”

Regarding the Duce, he criticized the deification of personalities, in which, for example, Mussolini praised the tireless sportsman and the inexhaustible lover, but knew of no transcendent principle beyond the personality. If the Duce saw himself above all as the embodiment of the State, then the Führer saw himself above all as the embodiment of German Folk. This implied theoretically a direct contact between Folk and Führer, without any intermediary hierarchy; it was a tendentious leveling in which every member of the Folk was equal. Evola maintained that National Socialism had become proletarianized. On the other hand, a parasitical class of bureaucrats sneaked in between the Führer and the Folk, acting despotically towards the people and quashing any criticism of itself as criticism of the Führer, while at the same time isolating him from the Folk who were his only source of power.

Evola opposes the totalitarian Folk-State and the Socialism of the Nazis with the idea of the Order-State. The SS was supposed to have been the vehicle of this Order-State. But what spiritual principle was to lead the new Order? The “positive Christianity” of the National Socialist creed signified a rejection of so-called “negative Christianity.” According to this, the negative aspects of Christianity included the Jewish thought in the Old Testament; cutting off the European folk from their pre-Christian roots, to the extent of destroying the folk altogether through denial of their national connection; exclusive fixation on the after-life; and the life-denying attitude. But what alternative did the SS offer? Evola’s opinion was that with their neo-heathen naturalism and pantheism, they not only failed to overcome “negative Christianity,” but lacked any transcendent orientation on even the lowest spiritual basis. Nor could there be any question of reviving the pre-Christian Teutonic religion. Hence the SS went into battle with no transcendent principle to lead them: neither the ancient Germanic war-god Thor, nor the Christian archangel Michael, who since the Synod of Mainz in 819 had been the Patron of the Empire.

No one can accuse Evola of only having made this criticism after the fact. In the remarkable article Reich und Imperium als Elemente der neuen Europäischer Ordnung (Europäische Revue, February 1942), we find his opinion clearly expressed:

“We are well aware of the anti-Roman prejudices that are cultivated in certain circles. However, they mostly rest on one-sided comparisons. For example, they substitute for true Roman law a kind of law that would better be called Napoleonic, marred by unversalism and an abstract normativism that occurred only incidentally in the organic concept of earlier Rome’s ‘imperial space.’ It is equally wrong to compare the Roman Empire with the Catholic Church. Certainly we admit that Rome worked in concert with Catholicism to create the imperial culture of the Middle Ages; but we have to be clear about what sort of Catholicism was involved then. True Roman law was not “universal” in the modern, rational sense, marked by the Enlightenment and Freemasonry, but was the form of a well-ordered imperial space or empire, which had as its basis an equally well-ordered cultural and human ideal. Medieval Catholicism was likewise related to a Christianity which largely identified itself with the community of Aryan European nations. This community was conceived as an organic and military unity, and the ethics of honor and loyalty counted far more in it than the virtues of renunciation and the universal brotherhood of humanity. [...]

“One must not forget that for many European peoples, Catholicism represents the tradition of many centuries, which cannot be discarded overnight without destructive consequences. In this respect, a suitable adjustment and selection will serve the true common goal far better than outright rejection. [...]

“It is, in any case, essential to be realize that the new Order will need a fulcrum analogous to that which Rome already provided for forming the Medieval culture of Europe. If Imperialism signifies a power-system in which the governing part oppresses and exploits the other parts, the Empire or Imperium, in contrast, represents leadership and the higher justice of the ‘unum, quod non est pars’ [unity that is not a part].”

In the Eastern part of Europe the Orthodox church has made the synthesis of nation and Christianity possible, but outside of Romania the Roman and therefore the true Imperial spirit would have been missing. The Legionaries show clearly the living Roman influence in Romania which completed the Dacian heritage and the Christian tradition to the New Man of the Iron Guard – modelled after the exemple of the heroic life and death of Corneliu Codreanu.

Senate unanimously adopts declaration condemning Holocaust

12 Octombrie 2010

http://www.financiarul.ro/2010/10/12...ing-holocaust/

The senators on Monday unanimously adopted a declaration on the Holocaust Day. The above-mentioned document was presented in the plenum of the law¬making body by chairman of the foreign policy commission Titus Corlatean.

According to the text of the declaration, the senators stick to their attitude combating anti-Semitic and xenophobic manifestations or intolerance. “Romania’s Senate reaffirms its pledge to go on supporting, in point of legislation and institutions, the action meant to combat any anti-Semitic and xenophobic manifestations, racial discrimination and intolerance and supports the special importance the educational process has for correctly informing citizens, making them sensitive and responsible, especially the younger generation.

The society as a whole must be informed correctly of the tragic effects of the racial hatred when it becomes a state policy … The entire assumption, in a lucid and honest manner, of the past is the foundation of our responsibility for the future,” reads the declaration that marks the commemoration of the Holocaust.

President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania Aurel Weiner thanked the senators for adopting the declaration and said that the assumption of this responsibility was “highly useful and deserves the gratitude of the 8,000 Jews still living in Romania of the 800,000 that used to live in the early 20th century.”

Liberal Senator Varujan Vosganian said on the same occasion that the declaration was the expression of the political will as regards Romania’s contribution at world level to the recognition of all the recent realities, which must be “assumed in such a way that such atrocities should never happen again.”

“It is through this door of pain, the Holocaust, that we must look at and understand the entire drama of the 20th century,” said the senator, who added that he himself was the heir of “a people that was the victim of the first genocide of the 20th century, the Armenian people.”

Deputy Nicolae Paun, representative of the Gypsy community in the Chamber of Deputies, said in his turn that the declaration adopted by the Senate was “a proof of political maturity and responsibility to the minorities in Romania.” Ambassador of Israel in Bucharest Dan Ben-Eliezer also attended the above-mentioned commemorative meeting.

(AGI) Bucharest, Oct 12 — Police in Bucharest arrested 30 football fans before, during, and after the Euro 2016 qualifying match between Romania and Hungary on Saturday. The two sides threw smoke bombs, stones, and firecrackers at each other near the National Arena, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw under the protection of 12,000 policemen. Hungarian hooligans also destroyed the buses that brought them to the stadium after seeing their flag wrongly depicted on the fliers.
