Michael Cohen nixes doc about last days before prison stint

President Trump’s longtime fixer Michael Cohen pulled the plug on a documentary about his final days before heading off to prison — though his daughter still hopes to cash in with a movie deal.

Cohen was close to signing a deal for the doc, which would chronicle his days before his May 6 surrender, and was talking to several directors, including uber-lefty Michael Moore, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cohen, a Trump loyalist who nonetheless spilled the beans on his former boss’ alleged foibles after deciding to cooperate with the feds, could have pocketed up to $3 million for the flick.

The website also said Cohen’s daughter, 22-year-old Samantha, has pitched her own documentary about life as the daughter of a crooked lawyer and political fixer.

Trump claims Michael Cohen asked him ‘directly’ for pardon

President Trump said Friday that Michael Cohen “directly” asked him for a pardon and that he turned him down — contradicting what his former lawyer and fixer told a House committee.

“Bad lawyer and fraudster Michael Cohen said under sworn testimony that he never asked for a Pardon. His lawyers totally contradicted him. He lied!” the president tweeted.

“Additionally, he directly asked me for a pardon. I said NO. He lied again! He also badly wanted to work at the White House. He lied!”

Cohen, who is heading to prison for lying to Congress, told the House Oversight Committee last week: “I have never asked for it, nor would I accept a pardon from President Trump.”

FBI got warrant for wrong hotel room during Cohen investigation

The FBI initially obtained a search warrant for the wrong Manhattan hotel room in connection with its investigation into Michael Cohen, according to a trove of papers unsealed Tuesday.

Special agents received a search warrant for Room 1728 at the Loews Regency Hotel on Park Avenue on April 8, 2018 — but then learned the next day that President Trump’s former fixer was actually staying in a suite one floor down, documents said.

Mueller found no Trump collusion with Russia, not enough evidence for obstruction: Barr

Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia — and the Justice Department says Mueller didn’t uncover enough evidence to charge Trump with obstruction of justice, according to a letter Sunday from Attorney General William Barr.

The four-page letter summarizes for Congress the key findings of the report that Mueller submitted Friday upon wrapping up his 22-month probe.
“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election,” Barr wrote.

Schiff: There Is Still ‘Significant Evidence of Collusion’

Republican lawmakers ask Justice Department to investigate Michael Cohen for perjury

(CNN)Two of President Donald Trump's closest allies on the House Oversight Committee referred Trump's former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to the Justice Department Thursday for possible criminal prosecution, claiming to have evidence that Cohen "committed perjury and knowingly made false statements" to lawmakers during his day-long testimony Wednesday.

The criminal referral -- sent by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the top Republican on the Oversight Committee, and North Carolina Republican Rep. Mark Meadows -- outlined several areas of testimony they urged the Justice Department to investigate, including Cohen's claims Wednesday that he did not seek a job in the Trump White House, his denial of committing bank fraud, as well as his assertion that he did not have any reportable contracts with foreign entities.

"I was extremely proud to be the personal attorney for the President of the United States of America," Cohen told lawmakers Wednesday. "I did not want to go to the White House."

Yet Republicans have pointed to court filings from prosecutors in the Southern District of New York that stated Cohen "privately told friends and colleagues, including in seized text messages, that he expected to be given a prominent role and title in the new administration" -- an assertion Cohen said Wednesday was "inaccurate."

Version of Mueller report will be released to Congress in ‘weeks not months’: Barr

Attorney General William Barr said his version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report will be released to Congress in “weeks not months,” according to a report Tuesday.

Barr shared the timetable with South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham in a phone call on Monday, a Justice Department official told Fox News.

Congressional Democrats are demanding that the entire report be made public, not just Barr’s version that redacts classified and other information.

Mueller cleared President Trump’s campaign of colluding with Russians during the 2016 election and did not conclude that the president obstructed justice, according to Barr’s four-page summary of the report released Sunday.

Post lifes repasts

The biggest problem with Donald Trump is in the throng of jews he has around him, led by his son in law who likely has something really big he's holding over him. He has the Dirt on Dirty Don and probably reminds him of it in subtle ways whenever possible besides the fact that he is the man who holds the lives of his grandkids in his hands.

Even in the unlikely event that Trump woke up this morning and wanted to do something honestly good to benefit white americans by lunchtime it would be stopped ice cold for one reason or another. And by supper would be twisted into something that somehow benefits jews only with The Donald left amused and wondering what the hell happened to the great brain fart he had at breakfast.

Well as much as you are what you eat, it's also who you sit down and break bread with at chow time that shapes your fate.

Trump’s Jews Are A Shonda For Di Goyim

My first job in journalism was at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a venerable, century-old newswire which provides coverage to Jewish papers around the world. As a jack-of-all trades intern, one of my jobs was to monitor our web traffic. To my surprise, I found that one of our top referrers was frequently Stormfront.org, a neo-Nazi website.

Then it made sense: our job was to track every Jewish newsmaker, for good or ill, and write it up. And in a way, so was theirs. Anti-Semites are obsessed with Jewish behavior, and so are Jews: We take pride in those who excel, certainly, but our history has demanded alertness to those who might provoke backlash. To an extent, we have always sought to hush and hide our transgressors. Before the phrase “bad for the Jews” came into currency, the Yiddish phrase a shanda fur di goyim –- a scandal in the eyes of Gentiles -– illustrated the plight of a minority community working to show itself in the best light before punitive external scrutiny.

Lately, we’ve been inundated with stories about high-profile Jews behaving badly. Take Michael Cohen, for instance, Trump’s lawyer and fixer whose evocative name dates back to the Jewish Biblical priesthood. Cohen allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to stay mum about her affair with the president. But last week, the FBI raided his office for evidence, a breach of attorney-client privilege that generally only happens in cases when a lawyer is strongly suspected of furthering crime or fraud. Then lawyers for the Southern District of New York determined that Cohen was doing “little to no legal work” –- not even much of a lawyer!

Cohen is what you might call a high-profile shanda. But he was not the only one to shame his people last week. He was joined by other high-profile shandas Eric Greitens and Elliott Broidy. Greitens, the governor of Missouri, is accused of a lurid and grotesque assault on a woman. And Broidy, who stepped down from his role on the finance committee of the Republican National Committee, stands accused of paying $1.6 million in hush money to a Playboy Playmate who had an abortion.
(...)
It’s a feeling that the Trump era has brought on in spades. Trump has a tendency to surround himself with badly behaved Jews. Trump’s Jews hew uncomfortably close to ugly stereotypes, from Cohen to Broidy to Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, with his slumlord deals and increasingly shady international reputation. Then there’s financiers like Gary Cohn and Steven Mnuchin, the latter of whom was memorably photographed holding a sheet of money, a visual shanda to all who care about income inequality in this country. Recently, pursuant to Cohen’s fall from grace, Alan Dershowitz is providing legal advice to the president, in between his eloquent screeds in defense of Trump on Fox News.
(...)
I hope that history doesn’t repeat itself, and that eventually Jews reach a point at which we can expunge these historical neuroses. But with George Soros conspiracies on the airwaves at Fox News, with multiple open neo-Nazi candidates for office in 2018, that doesn’t seem likely.

Michael Cohen reports to America’s ‘Jewiest’ prison

By SAM SOKOL / JTA May 7, 2019

Michael Cohen, a former attorney and fixer for Donald Trump, reported to start his three-year term on Monday at a prison called “federal Jewish heaven.”

Cohen will serve his time at FCI Otisville, a medium-security prison about 70 miles northwest of New York City with a reputation as the lockup of choice for Jewish criminals.

Some reasons why: It serves kosher foods such as matzah ball soup, gefilte fish and rugelach, in part because of its “proximity to New York’s sizable Jewish population.” Also, Otisville holds Shabbat dinners and Passover seders, according to Larry Levine, who served an 11-year sentence in 10 prisons before setting up the Wall Street Prison Consultants group.

Michael Cohen sues accountant for allegedly screwing up tax returns

By Priscilla DeGregory
March 13, 2020

Michael Cohen has filed a $500,000 negligence lawsuit against his accountant for allegedly making errors on three years of tax returns.

Cohen — who is currently serving out a three-year prison sentence — sued accounting firm Getzel Schiff & Pesce, LLP and accountant Jeffrey Getzel in Manhattan Supreme Court Friday for “negligence in preparing Mr. Cohen’s tax returns for the tax years 2013 through 2016.”

Cohen — President Donald Trump’s former “fixer” — claims that the firm failed, “to account for certain taxi medallion income, estimated tax payments, and loan repayments.”

The 53-year-old lawyer — who pleaded guilty to tax fraud, campaign finance violations and lying to Congress — is $22 million in debt after allegedly taking loans against the taxi medallions he owned.

It’s not clear if the claims Cohen is making in the new civil suit are related to the criminal tax charges.

Michael Cohen caught at NYC restaurant — and it could land him back in prison

By Christopher Sadowski and Bruce Golding
July 3, 2020

Michael Cohen could soon be back to chowing down in a prison cafeteria.

The recently sprung jailbird was caught by The Post dining out on Manhattan’s Upper East Side — and the meal may cost him his freedom, legal experts said Friday.

Exclusive photos show President Trump’s former personal lawyer seated at a sidewalk table outside Le Bilboquet, a French restaurant around the corner from his Park Avenue apartment, on Thursday night.

Cohen, his wife, Laura, and another couple spent about an hour chatting before they became the last patrons to leave around 11:30 p.m.

At the time, staffers were preparing to close the eatery, where the “signature” dish of Cajun chicken costs $36 and a “New York Prime” steak is $55.

Michael Cohen wishes fans a happy Fourth of July as critics rip restaurant romp

By Jon Levine
July 4, 2020

Recently sprung jailbird Michael Cohen certainly appears to be enjoying his independence.

Cohen on Saturday wished his Twitter followers a happy Fourth of July, hours after being pictured on The Post’s front page dining al freco at a chic Upper East Side restaurant Le Bilboquet — a move some legal experts have suggested could cost him his freedom.

“Wishing everyone a #safe and #happy #4thofJuly2020,” President Trump’s former lawyer wrote at 7:28 a.m in a tweet featuring an image of the Stars and Stripes and fireworks.

Cohen, 53, was released to house arrest from the Federal Correctional Institution at Otisville, New York on May 20 over COVID-19 concerns.

He’s supposed to be serving three-year sentence for his role in paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, bank fraud, tax evasion and lying to Congress.

At the time of his release, Cohen was only 10 months into his prison stint, which was to extend to Nov. 2021.

Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen taken into custody after restaurant jaunt

By Lois Weiss, Ben Feuerherd and Bruce Golding
July 9, 2020

Michael Cohen landed back behind bars Thursday after The Post’s exclusive report on his evening out at a Manhattan restaurant led federal officials to review his release from prison, a source familiar with the matter revealed.

“That dinner caught the eye of those at [the Bureau of Prisons] who feel he was released on furlough only due to the coronavirus situation but is acting like he’s a free man and not out under supervision,” the source said.

“The Post article was a catalyst to take a closer look.”

Cohen, 53, was taken into custody during a meeting with federal probation officials in Lower Manhattan, defense lawyer Jeffrey Levine said.

Of course, they shouldn't have let him out in the first place.

Michael Cohen pleaded for freedom after seeing US Marshal with shackles, pal says

By Ben Feuerherd
July 9, 2020

Michael Cohen pleaded not to be hauled back into prison after US Marshals broke out the shackles when they took him into custody Thursday.

“I’ll sign exactly what you want me to sign, so I don’t have to go back to jail,” President Trump’s former fixer whined to the lawmen who proceeded to chain him and take him into their custody, his former lawyer and friend Lanny Davis said.

Cohen was taken into custody by the marshals at Manhattan federal court, where he reported Thursday morning to have an ankle bracelet attached and to sign terms of his new home confinement.

Cohen refused to agree to the first term of the home confinement deal, which would’ve barred him from speaking to the press and blocked him from publishing a tell-all book that he’s been writing while behind bars in an upstate New York federal prison.

Michael Cohen back in Otisville prison in solitary confinement

By Ben Feuerherd
July 10, 2020

President Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen was transferred back to Otisville prison and is being held in a 14-day solitary confinement because of the coronavirus pandemic, his lawyer said Friday.

Cohen was moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to the central New York prison after his arrest at the federal courthouse in Manhattan Thursday morning, Cohen’s attorney Jeff Levine said.

“Unbeknownst to me and his family, it happened last night,” Levine told The Post, adding that Cohen’s relatives are “devastated” by his incarceration.

Cohen was arrested Thursday after he refused to agree to one of the stipulations to a home confinement agreement, which would have barred him from speaking to the press and blocked him from publishing a tell-all book that he’s been writing while behind bars in Otisville.

Judge rules Michael Cohen should be released to home confinement

By Ben Feuerherd
July 23, 2020

A federal judge on Thursday ruled that Michael Cohen should be released to home confinement from federal prison, after agreeing that authorities sought to limit his right to free speech by blocking him from writing a tell-all book about President Trump.

Judge Alvin Hellerstein said in a Manhattan federal court hearing that he believes the Bureau of Prisons and US Probation Office retaliated against Cohen by transferring to jail from home confinement earlier this month.

Hellerstein added that federal authorities specifically sought to infringe on Cohen’s First Amendment rights by blocking him from writing a tell-all book and speaking to the media as part of his terms of home confinement.

Michael Cohen back home in NYC pad after release from prison

By Georgett Roberts and Ben Feuerherd
July 24, 2020

Michael Cohen walked into his apartment building on the Upper East Side Friday evening to begin his home confinement term, ending a weeks-long fiasco that saw him arrested and returned to federal prison for refusing terms of his confinement.

Cohen, wearing a suit jacket, baseball hat and surgical mask, walked into his building with his son without stopping to speak to reporters.

A federal judge on Thursday ordered Cohen’s release from Otisville prison, ruling that he was brought into custody by federal authorities on July 9 as “retaliation” for tell-all book that he was planning to write about President Trump.
