The whole situation with the US military and veterans issues seems backwards.
America spends enormous amounts of money (740 billion dollars a year)
on the military and most of that is complete waste. Most of these expensive
weapons are never used. And when some are used it is in a stupid, destructive war against a much weaker country that just compounds the problem. If
one is concerned about wounded veterans then campaign to end these wars.
A small fraction of this money could be diverted to pay for all the veterans
issues. So the problem is money management and prioritizing. I recently
got a call from a Veterans Organization begging me for money. I go their
letter and I told them what I just posted. If you want money for veterans
then take your request to the people who are managing this enormous amount
of tax money.

This silly worship of military veterans gets so tiresome. So you served in the
military. SFW? You knew when you joined that you may see combat. It seems
that a small percentage of military members actually see combat. A lot of the
muds that join the military are losers and end up having these problems
with chronic homelessness and substance abuse. To white people who serve
in the military I say great and I wish you well. If you are not getting the services that you need I think that is because the vast amount of tax money
that is spent on the military each year is not being spent in the right places.
You may want to contact your congressman or senators about it.
Sinise just seems like he is a drama queen or something.

I used to get solicitations for money from a veteran's organization and finally told them basically the same thing you did. And surprise, I never heard from them again.
