Kensington Palace hid word ‘negro’ on painting before Obamas could see it

Painting from 1660 entitled ‘The Negro Page’

Moments before the US president and First Lady sat down with Prince William, Duchess Kate and Prince Harry on Friday night, an assistant spotted a plaque beneath a painting reading ‘The Negro Page’. Aides reportedly hastily removed the plaque and put a pot plant in front of where the plaque would have been.
