I saw this concert by the band Blackberry Smoke last night on Palladia. Charlie Starr, a terrific lead singer who sounds a lot like Levon Helm and plays outstanding guitar (as does the other picker); good keyboards: just great stuff. I'd seen them on there before, but I didn't give them a chance, thinking it was just more of Murray's CMT cuntry horseshit. Boy, was I wrong that time. A couple of tunes do have those mindless hick party lyrics, but even those are catchy as hell.
Check it out.

Crossroads, seem to come and go, yeah The gypsy flies from coast to coast Knowing many, loving none Bearing sorrow havin' fun But back home he'll always run To sweet Melissa Freight train, each car looks the same, all the same And no one knows the gypsy's name No one hears his lonely sighs There are no blankets where he lies In all his deepest dreams the gypsy flies With sweet Melissa Again the morning's come, again he's on the run Sunbeams shining through his hair Appearing not to have a care Well, pick up your gear and gypsy roll on, roll on Crossroads, will you ever let him go? Lord, Lord Will you hide the dead man's ghost Or will he lie, beneath the clay Or will his spirit float away? But I know that he won't stay Without Melissa. Yes I know that he won't stay, yeah Without Melissa Is that so |

My cup runneth over Like blood from a stone These stand for me Name your god and bleed the freak I like to see How you all would bleed for me When the pig runs slower (Slower) Let the arrow fly (Fly) When the sin lies bolder (Bolder) I'll pluck out thine eye (Out Thine Eye) These stand for me Name your god and bleed the freak I like to see How you all would bleed for me If you scorn my lover (Lover) Satan got your thigh (Thigh) If you steal in hunger (Hunger) I will kick you when you try (When You Try) These stand for me Name your god and bleed the freak These stand for me I like to see How you all would bleed for me "All these things that you've done for me, I'm not saying that you haven't done a lot of good, But if there's one thing you can do, Have left me so... fucking tired You can bleed for me, bleed for me" These stand for me Name your god and bleed the freak I like to see How you all would bleed for me Name your god and bleed the freak These stand for me I like to see How you all would bleed for me |

Listening to an amazing new band called "Newborn".
It's unlike anything out there today, It will make you reminiscent of the great rock of the past generations, while shining a bright light on the future of music.
Listen to their single "Broken Virgo" - Their newly recorded song, "All Fail Forward" And a beautiful song (not yet done professionally) called "Black Sky" https://soundcloud.com/newborn-6/black-sky If you like what you hear, then be sure to check their facebook page and give them a like. Thanks! https://www.facebook.com/newbornrockmusic |

Home made Stilton Cabbage soup CornBeaf Eggs Salmon Rye bread The wife is doing dinner prep work for pork and kraut and stuffing with chestnuts. She's griping about having to peel the chestnuts. The dogs think all this is for them. |

Many stubborn Ozzy Only Sabbath fans are missing out on some great music. From 1987
