The Last Unicorn ( 80s movie )
Now , before anybody deems that a children's movie or merely a movie for females . . First of all , this movie contains scenes which may not really be suitable for children , second this movie , in some scenes , is too 'sinsister' that the 'girly'-types may like it , lol . . It is an interesting movie though . . What is good about that movie is that it draws hard on European myth /folklore ( pretty much like 'Lord Of The Rings' . . .) . . . . Mostly from heathen Europe . . A world full of elves , magic etc . . . The only thing negative is that, once again, the usual Japs helped with the animation . . I don't think we need Japs with animation . . It takes the viewer into a world full of European myth etc . . Funny thing to mention . . Christopher Lee is the voice of King Haggard in the movie and in the German dubbing he also voices him . I always liked Christopher Lee's acting talent and find it impressive that for this movie he even took it upon himself to voice another language I also liked the soundtrack . . The story is by Peter Beagle who , I think , rightfully stepped into the footsteps of people like Tolkien with this work . . |
