Joe Biden takes low blow at Trump over white supremacy

By Post Editorial Board
August 8, 2019

Joe Biden’s got some timing: As President Trump traveled to Dayton and El Paso to console victims, and just days after he called for unity against racism, the ex-veep accused him of doing the opposite.

A president’s words can “unleash the deepest, darkest forces in the nation,” and that, Biden insisted Wednesday, is what Trump “has chosen to do.” The 2020 Dem wannabe claimed the president “encourages and emboldens” white supremacy and has “poured fuel on the fire” of hate crimes.

Sure, Biden’s in a tough fight for his party’s nomination. But doesn’t he care at all about healing and uniting the nation after last weekend’s devastating massacres?

How is painting Trump as just short of Adolf Hitler and stirring up fiery resentment toward him going to calm the public, heal the wounds and bring folks together? Who is pouring fuel on the fire?

Biden camp says verbal stumbles are just ‘Joe being Joe’

By Chris Perez
August 12, 2019

“Joe’s always been gaffe-prone — it’s just a piece of who he is.”

That’s the excuse coming from the Joe Biden camp as to why the former vice president and 2020 Democratic front-runner keeps having to put his foot in his mouth while on the campaign trail, with multiple verbal stumbles coming in recent days.
(...)
Campaign advisers and allies insist that despite what some people say, it is not Biden’s age that’s causing him to slip up — it’s just in his nature.

“Joe’s always been gaffe-prone,” said Rev. Joseph Darby, a longtime supporter from South Carolina.
“It’s just a piece of who he is,” Darby told the Times. “He made a bunch of them last week but I don’t think it affects his capacity to govern…He is as sharp as he’s been.”

Biden’s camp has referred to the “so-called gaffes” — which included bungling the locations of the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings, just days after claiming that “poor kids” were as “just as bright” and “talented” as “white kids” — as a “press narrative, not a voter narrative.”

Obama worries Biden’s 2020 bid could ‘damage his legacy’: report

By Mary Kay Linge
August 17, 2019

Former President Barack Obama tried to talk Joe Biden out of jumping into the race for the Democratic presidential nomination — and fears his veep could “damage his legacy” with his White House bid, according to a report.

“You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t,” the former president told Biden before the front-runner entered the race, insiders told the New York Times.

Biden has repeatedly cited his relationship with his old boss as he touts his credentials on the campaign trail — but Obama has asked Biden staffers to make sure the gaffe-prone veep does not “damage his legacy” or “embarrass himself” during his run.

They have been unable to prevent him from making verbal blunders, like his claim last week that “poor kids are just as bright … as white kids” and his insistence that there are “at least three” genders.

Joe Biden has bigger problems than just gaffes

By Post Editorial Board
August 18, 2019

Joe Biden, 76, has been getting heaps of attention for his verbal gaffes. Alas, voters should worry about a far bigger problem: It’s impossible to know what he stands for.

Yes, some of his slip-ups can be head-scratching. Democrats choose “truth over facts,” he said. Huh? The kids from the Parkland high school shooting — which happened after he left office — “came to see me when I was vice president.”

He lamented “the tragic events in Houston” and “Michigan” rather than El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. He warned against giving President Trump “eight more years” and told backers to “go to Joe 30330,” instead of texting him. And that’s just recently.

Sometimes his flubs raise serious questions about what he thinks, as when he asserted that “poor kids” were as bright as “white kids,” though he quickly corrected himself (as, to his credit, he usually does).
(...)
The bigger trouble is that, even when he’s not mangling words, it can be hard to tell his true position — not just because he’s inarticulate but because some of what he says is just plain bizarre. And because he’s flip-flopped so furiously under pressure from his Democratic foes.

Initially, for instance, he insisted America is “in competition with China.” Yet in May, he discounted Beijing as a serious rival and blasted its critics: “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man … They’re not bad folks.” That was no verbal goof.

Then, when those comments drew fire, he switched back: “China poses a real challenge to the United States and in some ways a real threat,” he said.

Biden recounts war story rife with inaccuracies in latest gaffe: report

By Bob Fredericks
August 29, 2019

Gaffe machine Joe Biden has put his foot in his mouth again, telling a war story on the campaign trail about pinning a medal on a hero service member’s chest — but getting nearly every detail of the yarn wrong, according to a report Thursday.
(...)
“This is the God’s truth,” Biden insisted. “My word as a Biden.”

But virtually every detail was wrong, the paper reported, adding that Biden apparently conflated several actual events to come up with his story.

Biden had visited Afghanistan in 2008, but as a senator, not as vice president, and the military man who performed the rescue was a 20-year-old Army specialist, not a Navy captain.

And that soldier, Kyle J. White, never had a Silver Star or any other medal pinned on his chest by Biden.

Trump and Biden are making almost the same appeal to voters

By Marc Thiessen
August 30, 2019

During a recent speech in New Hampshire, President Trump unveiled a new campaign line: “Whether you love me or hate me, you have got to vote for me.” Citing the strong economy, Trump told voters that if he loses, “your 401(k), everything is going to be down the tubes,” so “you have no choice!” To underscore the point, when he finished speaking the music that came on was the Rolling Stones singing, “You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, well, you might find, you get what you need.”

Not far away, in Nashua, the Biden campaign rolled out the very same message about its candidate. “I know that not all of you are committed to my husband, and I respect that,” Jill Biden told Democratic primary voters. “Your candidate might be better on, I don’t know, health care, than Joe is. But you’ve got to look at who’s going to win this election. And maybe you have to swallow a little bit and say, ‘Okay, I personally like so and so better,’ but your bottom line has to be that we have to beat Trump.”

To put it another way: “Whether you love Joe or hate him, you have got to vote for him.”

Trump and Biden are both running on the same message, but with one crucial difference: Trump is directing his at independent swing voters; Biden is directing that message at his base.

THE TRANSCRIPT WE REALLY WANT TO SEE

September 25, 2019

The transcript of President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky is yet another illustration of the rule: Never ask a question you don’t know the answer to.

But on the basis of one drama queen’s overreaction to a rumor she’d heard about what was said on a phone call she didn’t hear (I'm assuming the whistleblower is Christine Blasey Ford), the Democrats have launched impeachment proceedings against the president.

I guess they figured it's easier than flying to South Dakota with picks and chisels and carving Trump into Mount Rushmore. But it will have the same effect.

Now that the transcript has been released, it’s The New York Times that doesn't want anyone to see it.

The transcript I'd like to see is the one of Nancy Pelosi reading the Trump transcript.

F@@@@@@CK! Whose f***ing idea was it to demand this goddamn transcript?
F@CK!
F@@CK!
F@@@CK!

The absolute worst version for Trump -- i.e. the one being repeated non-stop on MSNBC -- is that he did exactly what Obama and Biden were doing to Ukraine: intimidating an ally into giving us something in exchange for the foreign aid we were giving them.

Biden himself bragged about getting Ukraine’s prosecutor fired by threatening to withhold a big fat check from them.

The Democrats’ argument is: No, no, no! When WE were pressuring Ukraine, we were doing it for good! Don’t you understand? We’re good; they’re bad.

The other reason the media are going to have to bury this transcript is that Trump brought up a few items that the media have been hoping the public would never find out about.

Trump said: “There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution, so if you can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me.”

Biden should drop out to make way for a moderate not tainted by corruption

By Andrew Stein
September 30, 2019

Joe Biden’s corrupt dealings in Ukraine and those of his son must be investigated, and the time has come for him to drop out of the presidential race.

While Biden served as vice president, his son Hunter was unaccountably making $50,000 a month “consulting” in an industry with which he was totally unfamiliar *(energy), in a notoriously graft-prone country where he didn’t speak the language (Ukraine). Hunter made similarly sketchy deals with China.

President Trump’s phone call this summer with his Ukrainian counterpart may have been ill-advised, but it simply didn’t rise to an impeachable offense. Meanwhile, the American people deserve to know the truth about the Biden family’s lucrative dealings with other countries during the Obama *administration.

Indeed, in 2016, Biden oversaw a seriously salacious project in Ukraine that included attempting to get the nation to fire its top prosecutor. One of his tactics included clearly and explicitly threatening to withhold at least $1 billion in American aid if the Ukrainians didn’t follow through with the Obama administration’s demands. Soon *after this tangible threat, the prosecutor was fired.

PIERS MORGAN: If we swapped the name Hunter Biden for Donald Trump Jr, the Democrats and media would be going absolutely nuts - so it's time to start asking Joe Biden the key Ukraine questions he doesn't want to answer

(...)

1) What exactly did Joe Biden Do in the Ukraine? President Obama made him his point man there after the overthrow of pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych in the 2014 revolution. Biden visited Ukraine at least a dozen times over the next two years, ostensibly to help new pro-Western president Petro Poroshenko root out corruption. But what was Biden really doing? We should be told.

2) How and why did Hunter Biden come to land such a lucrative job in the spring of 2014 with Burisma, the largest private gas company in Ukraine? He doesn’t appear to have any real credentials for it other than being the US Vice-President’s son. We should be told.

3) What did Hunter Biden do for Burisma? Who did he meet, what deals did he fix, what influence did he wield and how? How did he earn his $50,000 a month? We should be told.

4) Why, as DailyMail.com reveals today, did Hunter’s investment firm partner Chris Heinz – former Secretary of State John Kerry’s stepson – split from him when he joined Burisma because he was reportedly worried about Biden’s poor judgement and how it would look? And did Heinz share those concerns with Joe Biden?

5) What conversations did Biden Snr have with his son about Burisma? He says none, but Hunter previously said they had at least one. Neither answer seems credible given how close they were and what they were doing at the time in Ukraine. ‘Ask the right questions’ snapped Biden Snr when a reporter tried to push him on this last week. This is a perfectly right question to ask. We should be told.

6) Did, crucially, Biden Snr interfere with any investigations into Burisma that were conducted because the owner Mykola Zlochevsky was close to ousted Yanukovych? We know Biden Snr boasted of successfully demanding to have Ukraine’s top prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired if the government wanted $1 billion in U.S. aid. But was another reason that he wanted to protect Hunter from being dragged into any Burisma probe? If that were true then Biden would surely be guilty of exactly the same kind of thing Trump’s been accused of? Biden vehemently denies it, and no hard evidence has yet emerged to prove otherwise. But this is the key charge being leveled by a Trump campaign that ironically calls Biden ‘Quid Pro Joe’. Again, we should be told.

Trump publicly calls on China to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden

by Zeke Miller and Jill Colvin, Associated Press, Updated: October 3, 2019- 5:54 PM

WASHINGTON (AP) — Ensnared in an impeachment inquiry over his once-secret appeal for Ukraine to investigate an American political rival, President Donald Trump openly underscored that request Thursday and flung it wider, urging global rival China to probe Democrat Joe Biden and his son.

Trump and Vice President Mike Pence said Americans have a right to know about the wrongdoing the president alleges. But Biden’s campaign chairman said Trump’s assertions merely show he’s scared of facing Biden in next year’s election. House intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff, who has a leading role in Congress’ impeachment inquiry, said Trump’s comments show “he feels he can do anything with impunity.”

Poll: 57% Americans Support Probe of Biden and Son’s Ukraine, China Actions

Kristina Wong 6 Oct 2019

A new poll showed that 57 percent of respondents support a Justice Department probe on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden regarding their actions in Ukraine and China.
(...)
The poll showed that the recent headlines on Ukraine, surrounding President Donald Trump’s calls for the Bidens to be investigated and the Democrats’ push to impeach him over those calls, are having a negative impact on the former vice president.

The poll also showed that as a result of the Ukraine issue, eight percent said they were more likely to vote for Biden, while 23 percent said they were more likely to vote against him.

The former vice president’s son, Hunter Biden, sat on the board of a Ukrainian gas company and was paid $50,000 a month for no discernible work while his father was tasked with overseeing Ukraine for the White House.

The elder Biden had pushed the Ukrainian government to fire a former chief prosecutor, who had opened an investigation into the company’s CEO.

Warren’s Anti-Corruption Plan Does Not Prevent Hunter Biden Scenario

John Binder 6 Oct 2019

An anti-corruption plan put forth by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in the 2020 Democrat presidential primary would not prevent a scenario where a sitting vice president’s child is allowed to serve on the board of a foreign corporation, as former Vice President Joe Biden’s son did.

Released last month, Warren’s plan to “End Washington Corruption” seeks to end a series of loopholes where presidents, vice presidents, lawmakers, and their family members have been able to effectively sell influence to line their pockets — a scheme that the Clintons were famously accused of with the Clinton Global Foundation, and one which Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, are now accused.

In April 2014, as Breitbart News’ Haris Alic has reported, Hunter Biden was appointed to serve on the board of Ukrainian oil company Burisma despite having no qualifications do to so. At the same time, Biden led the Obama administration’s response to Russia’s invasion of Crimea, pushing billions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer aid to the Ukrainian government. Some of that money allegedly filtered out to Burisma, the corporation of which Biden’s son was a board member.

Joe Biden calls for Trump to be impeached

By Bob Fredericks
October 9, 2019

Former Vice President Joe Biden said for the first time Wednesday that President Trump should be impeached — and that the commander-in-chief “has indicted himself” and believes the entire US government can be used for his own political and personal needs.

“With his words and his actions, President Trump has indicted himself by obstructing justice, refusing to comply with the congressional inquiry. He’s also convicted himself in full view of the world and the American people,” the 2020 Democratic candidate said during a campaign speech in Rochester, New Hampshire.
