Gotta tell you, I don't trust guys who wear bow ties. Usually a big liberal giveaway.

That being said, the Chinese have s strong money making instinct. As James Clavell (the author of Shogun and Taipei) wrote, the Chinese are natural capitalists. Maoism was an inversion, a reaction to the chaos of the end of their empire. In China, they always want a balance of celestial order, and Maoism was that balance.
it's no surprise they're moving into markets and developing economic strength.
Of course, we developed lot of that in hopes they would be good, obedient cogs in the global world order, but the Chinese have other ideas.

When I lived in Boston, a fellow employee, a stern Yankee, told me "there are just as many certifiable lunatics in Massachusetts as there are in California. The difference is, in Massachusetts...ours vote."
