[QUOTE=Enkidu........
This shouldn't bother Christians much. My parish pastor told me that he considered most of the Old Testament to be legends based on Babylonian and Sumerian Myths. He was, aside from this, a serious, believing Catholic.[/QUOTE] As any sane person would. Except, I think that they are really informative legends as they show how lazy, deceptive, hateful and generally wicked the Jews have been a long ways going back. |

Geophysical Analysis of the Bosnian Pyramid Complex by the Remote Sensing Geophysicists at SpecTIR Corp. Additional Evidence that the Mounds Visocica and Pljesevica, near Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Represent Ancient Colossal Stone Structures. Two researchers using ultra-modern satellite imaging believe they have confirmed a discovery of huge, ancient buildings, which may be the first European pyramids, buried in a rugged, mountainous area, near the town of Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Amer Smailbegovic who with his partner, Sean Anklam, are leading the investigative remote sensing work, said “ based on preliminary analysis of data collected thus far we have encouraging and compelling evidence that the two mounds we are focusing on may be in fact ancient pyramids.” The researchers, working at SpecTIR Corporation in Reno, Nevada, USA have analyzed multiple satellite, airborne and radar imagery, and geospatial datasets, acquired over Visocica and Pljesevica, two mounds in Bosnia and Herzegovina postulated by a growing amount of scientific evidence, to be the first European Pyramids. Using several different available spaceborne, airborne and topographic datasets (Radarsat, Landsat, Hyperion, Orbview, IKONOS, Quickbird, Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) they hope to attain the full view of the area. The SpecTIR Corporation commands recognition on its expertise and integrity, and elite clientele in the United States, ranging from government agencies to corporations and educational institutions. The company specializes in the acquisition of airborne hyperspectral imagery, analysis and interpretation of geospatial datasets and integration of multiple datasets into ready-to-use information for their customers. “Personally speaking, we have no doubts that some kind of enormous, man-made structures exists in and around Visocica: the sides of the mounds appear unnatural because they are very linear, with clearly defined edges. The nature generally abhors straight lines and geometric theorems. In addition to Visocica and Pljesevica features, we may have identified other structures, not readily apparent to the observer on the ground.” state Dr. Smailbegovic and Anklam in their findings. The researchers said they are applying the latest scientific methods in their geo-archaeological investigation. Smailbegovic said a number of Bosnian scientists will join the effort in the coming year. So far, the volunteer effort has centered on analyzing data collected from satellite imagery of areas near Visocica and Pljesevica, about 30km northwest of Sarajevo. A continued, concentrated effort will be initiated to explore the pyramid interior and the network of underground tunnel systems. Semir Osmanagic, the team’s principal investigator, said he is exploring several geophysical methods which could be used to explore the interior of the underground structures and the network of tunnels which may connect them to other areas of archaeological interest in the Visoko Valley.

After the Pyramid in Bosnia, now the Chinese are in on the act:
In Yunnan Province, China researchers are reporting the discovery of Mayan pyramid-like buildings under Fuxian Lake . "Gengwei, a professional diver, told reporters on December 19th, 2005, that images from sonar scans showed that a large relic covering at least 2.4 square kilometers sits underwater in Fuxian Lake. "He said eight main buildings were found all under the water, including a round building and two large high buildings with floors that liken to the Mayan pyramids of Latin America." The round one has been described as similar to a colosseum in architecture, with a 37-meter wide base and a gap to the northeast. One of the large, high buildings has three floors, a 60-meter wide base and lots of small steps linking the floors. Another is even larger, with a 63-meter wide base standing five floors and a total 21 meters high. A 300-meter long and 5 to 7 meter wide rock road connects the two buildings. The complex, located in present-day southern Yunnan province, is believed to be from an ancient civilization dating back to the Qin and Han dynasties, approximately 2,000 years ago. Bosnian Pyramid Update
http://www.theage.com.au/news/World/Australian-in-Bosnia-pyramid-riddle/2006/01/20/1137553735882.html
Australian in Bosnia pyramid riddle January 20, 2006 - 7:39AM Australian archaeologist Royce Richards is among a team preparing to look for the truth behind a theory that Bosnia-Herzegovina has an ancient pyramid. Archaeologists from Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, and Slovenia will begin excavation work in April on the Visocica hill, 32 kilometres north-west of Sarajevo. The hill is quite symmetrical, and the theory that it was once a pyramid is supported by preliminary investigations. If true, it would rewrite world history, putting Europe alongside South America and of course Egypt as homes of ancient pyramids. Bosnian Semir Osmanagic put forward his theory last year that a 100 metre geometrically-shaped hill with evenly shaped sides and corners that point north, south, east and west is an ancient man-made edifice. Osmanagic, who has spent 15 years studying the pyramids of the Americas is convinced the hill is a genuine man-made pyramid from an ancient civilization. His preliminary excavations shows what he believes is evidence that the earth has been shaped to form a pyramid and covered in prehistoric concrete and stone blocks. "We have already dug out stone blocks which I believe are covering the pyramid," Osmanagic said. "We found a paved entrance plateau and discovered underground tunnels. "You don't have to be an expert to realise what this is." Osmanagic's assertions have been supported by experts studying aerial and satellite images. Theorists believe the Illyrian people who inhabited the Balkan region before the conquering Slavic tribes overran them about 1,400 years ago had the sophistication to shape a hill into a pyramid. Excavation work to test Osmanagic's theory will begin on April 14 in the Visoko region and is expected to continue until October and the rugged mountainous area has become an archaeological park.
