Somebody once said he thought there were 3 phases of a civilization.: 1) people imagine gods, 2) people make up myths about heroes, 3) they see things in terms of real men.

People do it every day on a small, personal scale; especially when it comes to the opposite sex seeking a potential person to be enamored by. Whoever they are enthralled by, whoever made an impression upon them, they think about that person, and make them into the most awesome person in the world, flawless, perfect in every way, saying the right things, doing the right things. And then.............. Then they have a bit more exposure. The sentiments shift from "you're my perfect everything!", to "what? you just farted in bed woman? You didn't do that when I thought of sleeping with you! What? This is your log in the toilet? And you're laughing?! I fancied you such a lady!" Kaboom. Married happy people... hmm. they must be two people who strive to be like 1, in which case it is a vanity agreement, or perhaps two people who are very grounded with 3, in which case they see past all the seemingly godliness that arouses the majority in the next ass they are tempted to chase. Well, it's only logical that we can paint our ideal picture better than someone else can paint it for us, no? Hmm. Maybe that's wrong. Some few do just woo us with their communication, in ways better than we imagined. Only to raise the bar, i.e. spoil. Last edited by P.E.; June 28th, 2011 at 09:17 PM. |
