Talking Who is / was your favourite cartoon character?

lol

Any cartoon characters you personally find hilarious / did find hilarious as a child ?

Especially American cartoons contain some truly hilarious creatures . .

( if you live in a country with not so prominent cartoons feel free to post them as well )

- - -

My fav. about which I even had to laugh "back then" . .

'Taz' . . The 'Tasmanian Devil' hyped up

I found the rest of the 'Looney Toons' quite boring yet I always had a faible for this hilarious character . .

Also for the 'kiddie'-version which was done . .

'Dizzy Devil'

- - -

lol . . but seriously . . A 'Tasmanian Devil' is such . .

'Sarcophilus harrisii' . .

. . not really a resemblence , no . .?

But that's what cartoons are there for

. . over-hyping things . .

Sorry if this thread come across as a bit immature yet . .

We all had fav. cartoon characters I suppose . .

Good thing is in cartoons more or less all things are possible and one might encounter the most stange creatures . .

In reality a 'Tasmanian Devil' is marsupial predator ( see picture above )

Australia ( the continent ) , through continental drifting , was cut off from Asia hundreds of thousands of years ago . . .

That's why its flora and fauna developed in a way entirely different than that of the rest of the world . . .

Marsupials are only found there . .

- - -

I think 'Taz' made the species of the 'Tasmanian Devil' world-famous

The Tasmanian Devil is an endangered species and today primarily found on the island of Tasmania . .

Or , as it used to be called . .

'Van Diemen's Land' . .

Bugs, Porky, Daffy, Elmer, the (((Warner Bros))) 'toons were funnier than the Disneys, in my opinion, which were more wholesome, although Donald & nephews Huey, Dewey & Louie were funny.

I named a beloved cat Sylvester.....

Default Who is/was your favorite cartoon character?

I always liked the Warner Brothers stuff, but also enjoyed Rocky and his Friends, with Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle ('Likeways, I'm sure') Moose. it was a lot of jokey fun as they went on adventures to find The Kurwood Derby (pun on Garry Moore's sidekick, Durwood Kirby), and always pursued by Boris and Natasha, led by that nefarious dictator Fearless Leader, the last three have passed into pop culture.

I liked it because this was the Cold War, and it showed the Russians as being not evil, but silly and ludicrous. Whenever i hear a Russian woman, i still expect her to say Natasha's 'Dollink, I luf you.'

Rocky and Bullwinkle lived in Frostbite Fall, Minnesota, near Whassamotta U., home of the famous Russian quarterback team of Rimsky and Khorsakav.
'Allo, Rimsky. is ready for pass?' 'Da, Khorsakov, pass avay.'

It had a lot of jokey, silly humor and awful but lovable puns. There were also bits like Sherman and Peabody, Fractured Fairy Tales, and Dudley Do Right. Recalling the show, it was for kids, but adults could also enjoy it (as the Warner Brothers cartoons).
Also, in the stories, there was a lot of history, culture, and politics that kids were expected to know to appreciate the jokes...a lot of cultural knowledge now lost. When I was a kid, all of this was side-splitting funny.

Probably the new age in humor came when I went to the movies in 1966, and a cartoon before the feature was Crunchbird. I thought it was the damned funniest thing I'd ever seen. Crunchbird is on Youtube; you must watch it.

I have already posted the cartoon in a topic about the Soviet cartoons but it was deactivated on YouTube.

I like this greedy, lazy and unfortunate character.

I do remember watching all that when I was really young in the early 70s. I'm sure they were re-runs.

Rambo has always been a cartoon character, even in the live-action films.

I did think Hot Shots was amusing, especially the second one where Richard Crenna was spoofing his Col. Trautman character from the Rambo series, and the Terminator-like Saddam Hussein was funny. Charlie Sheen's on-screen girlfriend Valeria Golino was smoking hot, too.

. . for non-German readers , the German intro version to this series , just that you experience how it felt to watch this series as a young German kid in the 80s

Actually, I liked the Mach 5 the most--a lot like a James Bond car.
