Weimar Republic Swing
How to evaluate this music ? Hitler opposed it . . He viewed Swing music as an offshoot of Jazz . . What do you think about that kind of music ? Do you think the National Socialists were justified in detesting it ? I'm going to go into the lion's den and say that some of the stuff is quite entertaining . . There even is some kind of "Weimar Republic Swing" revival in Germany . . Mainly carried by this man . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Raabe They cover old songs from back in the 20ies and even publish new ones . . They are quite successful . . How to evaluate the Weimar Republic Swing from today's point of view ? It is an open secret that the Weimar Republic was decadent to the core ( for example drug use was introduced among the 'higher' specimens of the bourgeoisie . .) . . and to be honest the Weimar Republic was quite a-moral in comparison to the reign of the Kaiser . . What does everybody here think about Weimar Republic Swing ? I know there were jewish members of the Comedian Harmonists . . . . yet what's your opinion ? |

But , guess what , Weimar Republic swing , in a way , is still 'popular' in Germany , viewed as some kind "our heritage" . . Some folks still listen to it . . The C. H. certainly had some amusing lyrics ( by 'amusing' I mean , seemingly senseless . .) http://lyrics.wikia.com/wiki/Claire_...er_Am_Himalaya Or . . I think one could argue about whether Swing music as such truly is "negroid" . . Jazz came to pass ( apart from the fact that the NWO has a hand in the promotion of 'popular music' ) when poor blacks in the USA who often were illiterate and couldn't read musical notes took instruments used for European military chapels ( tuba , trombone . .) and started improvising on them . . Negroid ? I think music like that is more negroid . . Negroes didn't invent the instruments used for European military chapels . . . . nor is improvising on them all that negroid IMO . . Concerning the dance style . . I admit that the "passionate" dances present in Swing or Jazz certainly are more passionate than the way Europeans used to dance before ( before that they used to dance more 'mildly' . .) . . . . somehow have some kind of negroid "carelessness" to them . . Yet even then I think one can make a disambiguation . . There are different styles . . A 'milder' form of Jazz- / Swing-dancing as well as styles such as Rocksteady or Bebop style . . Oh , and just in case anybody is wondering , no I wasn't taking about these guys . . |
