Woodpecker Donald Trump and Seeing the Glass Half-Full Rather Than Half-Empty

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but he can be credited with 3 very important things in America:

1. Destroying the credibility of the mainstream media.

2. Killing “mainstream conservatism,” which never conserved anything and was a joke in American politics.

3. Making illegal immigration (and a border wall) a central policy (and not just ignoring it or even aiding it like Conservatism, Inc./the GOP establishment).

Don’t forget, “the idea of Trump” (or Trumpism) is more important than Trump himself.

The media discredited themselves. MSM was unpopular before Trump ever ran for office, and all he did was use their unpopularity against them to gain popularity.

Mainstream Conservatism is alive and well, unfortunately. Conservatives from here on out are going to sound more Trump-like, but their actions will be the same old, same old. Conservatives have been getting kicked around by the left for decades, and Trump showed them that being combative, and a little bombastic is a morale boost for their base.

Trump on the border? He did about as much as Ronnie Raygun on border security. He attempted to give amnesty to illegals AKA "dreamers" and Democrats turned the offer down.

Trump hasn't changed anything, Trump is the swamp. Trump refuses to leave Iraq even though he campaigned on it, and even after the Iraqi government told them to leave. This shithead adopts jewish banditry tactics, threatens sanctions, and wants them to foot the bill for building their country around US military bases.....

Fuck Donald Trump.

You could also mention the Trump tax cuts. The richest 1% and .1% already
had a large disproportion of the wealth in America. Trumps tax cuts gave
them more wealth and hurt the middle class and the poor. Republicans like
Trump or Reagan will claim that these tax cuts for the wealthy will allow
these wealthy people to invest the money in creating businesses that expand
the available jobs and benefit the economy. But often this does not happen.
A lot of the money that went to the rich in 2017 was used for stock buy backs, offshore tax shelters and more mansions or yachts that aren't really needed. One of my economics professors in grad school told me that if the
rich get the tax cuts and don't invest in businesses that there is no real benefit.

>Trump administration will repurpose another $7.2 billion in Pentagon money, turning it into a border-wall fund
If he actually builds this, then at least that's something. It seems like a tiny crumb way too late at this stage, but it's never too late. I guess...
