I only read this thread yesterday and appreciate very much all of the information it contains. I've hated Win7 on my laptop and considered getting a Mac; reading these comments makes me think again; it's bad enough getting my XP Pro and Win 7 to work together; adding a Mac promises to add more headache for little gain--getting it to work with WordPerfect, for starters.

If you think Windows 8 is shit, just wait until you tried the new Microsoft Office. The retarded research and development at MicroSoft has placed more new shit on Word, Excell and PowerPoint. It's just not enough to go through a simple pull down menu anymore. Good luck finding the fount size and script. Even copy and paste, without scaling down your picture can give you twenty 8.5" by 11" to post up on a wall. Plus, you have to check your printer settings constantly. MicroSoft products should have Perpartion H smeared all over on them.

Yes. And I do it partly (mostly) because it's who I am, and partly
because I honestly despise being subtle or "nice".

The fact is, people need to know what my position on things are. And I
can't just say "please don't do that", because people won't listen. I
say "On the internet, nobody can hear you being subtle", and I mean

And I definitely am not willing to string people along, either. I've

Sarah, first off, I don't have that many tools at hand. Secondly, I

about your emotions about core/process is good. And because it's damn
hard to read people over email, I think you need to be *more* honest
and *more* open over email. I'm generally nicer in person. Not always.

And yes, I'll happily be part of the discussion at the KS. But I think
you also need to be aware that your "high horse" isn't necessarily all
that high.
