The Chief Rabbi of Russia, Berel Lazar, has denounced Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to send the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Syria as a “mistake” and expressed the hope that Israel could “deal” with the threat.

Lazar—described as “one of President Putin’s closest associates,” said the delivery of the S-300s to Syria “will only bring more difficulties” to the Middle East.

“I think this transfer story has been going on for many years, and it was the incident of the Russian plane that ultimately led to the unequivocal decision—that Russia must deliver this material to protect its aircraft. I think this is a mistake, which will only bring more difficulties to the region,” Rabbi Lazar was quoted as saying.

According to Rabbi Lazar, the S-300 system is not an existential threat, the report continued.

“I’m sure that Israel and the IDF have the technological options to deal with the enemy today, as well as with the S-300. We are talking about this issue with President Putin in order to sharpen the sensitivity of the subject.”

Rabbi Lazar added that “We very much hope that Israel’s cooperation with the Russians will continue and that the state will continue to maintain its borders and do everything it needs to ensure that the threat of the enemy does not reach its gates. Our relationship with Russia is important and we must continue it, but not rely on anyone but on ourselves.”

The use of the word “ourselves” in this comment clearly indicates that Rabbi Lazar is talking of himself as being part of Israel, not Russia. Jews are often accused of “double loyalty,” that is, to Israel and the nationality which they might hold, but as Lazer here admits, there is no such thing and actually only a single loyalty.

Galei Tzahal (Israeli Army Radio) announced that it would have to deploy its F-35I stealth fighters to continue its attacks on Syria.

Galei Tzahal quoted a source in the Israeli Air Force who said that in light of the situation in Syria, Israel has decided to increase the use of F-35 stealth fighter in its attacks on Syria.

“The coming attacks won’t be the first, but they will be safer for the pilots in light of the new reality in Syria’s skies,” the source told Galei Tzahal.


Galei Tzahal quoted a source in the Israeli Air Force who said that in light of the situation in Syria, Israel has decided to increase the use of F-35 stealth fighter in its attacks on Syria.

The IAF must increasingly rely on the futuristic stealth capabilities of the troubled F-35 jet if it’s to continue its raids with impunity,* after Syria’s air-defenses were boosted with S-300 systems, Israeli army radio reports.

The Russian threat also includes the decision to jam radar, navigation, and communications systems on any aircraft attacking targets in Syria, and the report admitted that this would further complicate missions.

Earlier this week the Russian Defence Ministry released video footage of the delivery of S-300 systems, interceptor missiles, radars and other hardware to Syria.

The footage showed the military hardware being unloaded off the world’s largest military transport jet, the Antonov An-124 Ruslan (the Condor), designed to carry a payload of 120 tons. The video shows the gigantic front cargo doors of the aircraft opening up, through which the Russian servicemen rapidly unload an S-300 launcher, radar and control vehicles, as well as the mounting of surface-to-air interceptor missile tubes onto a hauling unit.

According to Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu a total of 49 pieces of military equipment were supplied to Damascus and all of it will be integrated with the Russian anti-air capabilities into a unified air defense control system by October 20, while Syrian crews will be trained to operate the new hardware within three months.

"On the evening of October 9, in the area of al-Latamna, one of the ISIS formations attacked the headquarters of the detachment of the terrorist organization Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra).

As a result, four militants and two employees of the White Helmets organization were killed. Two chlorine containers were stolen from the headquarters room.

The stolen chlorine cintainers were transported to the south of the Aleppo province and handed over to terrorists of Harras al-Din terrorist group associated with ISIS.

Western countries, planning provocations against the Syrian government forces using controlled armed gangs, do not take into account the difficult situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Peaceful settlement of the conflict and rendering of comprehensive assistance are the main vectors of work in the Syrian Arab Republic.

Representatives of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation held a humanitarian action in the settlement of Ajam, al-Quneitra province. People received 300 food sets with a total weight of 1.3 tons.

In total, since the Russian Centre for Reconciliation started settlement process, it carried out 1,965 humanitarian actions. The total weight of humanitarian cargo delivered amounts to 3,072.9 tons.

A charitable action was held at the Hamish hospital in Damascus to hand over 25 wheelchairs, 50 blankets and 50 towels to the hospital administration.

People in need in Salakhin district, Aleppo city, received one tone of fresh-baked bread.

Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Insurgents attacked the following towns over the past day: Rasha, Akch-Baer (three times), Ein al-Naur, Jubb al-Zarur, Ikko in Latakia province.

Despite the statement of the American side about the eradication of ISIS in Syria, the terrorists still retain control over certain areas of the country. At the same time, the US-led international coalition and the Pentagon-controlled Kurdish forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces continue to imitate the struggle against the ISIS in the south of Deir ez-Zor province.

As a result of the inaction of the US-backed formations, the terrorists managed to establish complete control over the strip along the eastern bank of the Euphrates river, about 20 kilometers long between the settlements of Khadzhin and al-Sousa.

Taking full advantage of impunity, ISIS militants attacked a refugee camp in the al-Bahra area on October 13 to capture130 families totalling about 700 people and take them to Khadzhin.

The kidnapped civilians are actually taken hostage and can be used by terrorists as a “human shield” to cover terrorists from possible offensive by the Syrian democratic forces.

The Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides urges leaders of illegal armed formations operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone to cease hostilities and move towards peaceful settlement of the situation in areas they occupy.

I. Return of Refugees from abroad

Over the past day, in total 175 people (52 women and 89 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus , and al-Dabusya.

Since July 18, 2018, in total 18,045 Syrians have returned back to their homes from abroad:

17,727 refugees have left Lebanon, with 10,533 of them - via the Jeydet-Yabus CP, Zemrani – 3,812 people, 1,834 people via al-Dabusiyah, 854 people via the al-Qusayr and 694 via Talkalakh;

318 people have passed via the Nasib CP from Jordan.

According to consolidated information provided by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, as for October 1, 2018 there are still 6,639,529 registered refugees seeking asylum in 45 countries worldwide, with 1,991,859 women and 3,319,765 children among them.

In 45 embassies of the Russian Federation in foreign countries where the Syrian refugees seek asylum, 30 countries (Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Germany, Egypt, Iraq, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland, Cyprus, Belgium, Italy, Romania, Spain, Ireland, Malta, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Argentina, Luxembourg, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Iceland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Latvia) confirmed the figures provided by the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, on Syrian citizens in these countries.

At present there are 6,309,981 Syrians in these countries: (Turkey - 3,564,919, Lebanon - 976,002, Jordan - 671,428, Germany - 534,011, Egypt - 131,019, Iraq - 248,698, Netherlands - 74,998, Austria - 42,505, Denmark - 17,995, Greece - 13,139, Switzerland-6,702, Cyprus-5,899, Belgium-3,982, Italy-3,836, Romania-3,101, Spain-2,352, Ireland-1,729, Malta-1,289, Bosnia and Herzegovina-1,630, Poland - 1,069, Argentina - 1,496, Luxembourg - 663, Croatia - 530, Slovenia - 460, Bulgaria - 180, Hungary - 51, Iceland - 197, Slovakia - 43, Czech Republic - 39, Latvia - 19).

It is estimated, that 1,712,264 Syrians in nine countries expressed their desire to return back to their homeland(Lebanon – 889,031, Turkey – 297,342, Germany – 174,897, Jordan – 149,268, Iraq – 101,233, Egypt – 99,834, Denmark – 412, Brazil – 149, Austria - 68, Argentina - 30).

Since September 30, 2015, in total 247,325 Syrians have returned back to their homes from abroad (74,195 women, 126,119 children).

Ten CPs have already deployed for returnees, among them there are:

five on the Syria-Lebanon border (Zemrani, Jaydet-Yabus (Zabadani), al-Sabusiya (al-Aarida), Talkalakh and al-Qusayr (Qusayr));

one on the Syria-Jordan border (Nasib);

two in the Syrian Arab Republic (Abu-al-Duhur and al-Salhiyah);

one CP at Damascus international airport;

one CP at Baniyas sea port.

The leadership of Syria is taking active steps aimed at increasing the efficiency of the process of repatriation of Syrian refugees from the territory of foreign states.



II. Internal Displacement

Over the past day, 21people have returned back to Eastern Ghouta (Damascus province) - 5 women and 9 children. Since September 30, 2015 – 135,944 people (40,810 women, 67,932 children);

Over the past day, no refugees have left the Idlib de-escalation zone. Since March 4, 2018, in total, 33,848 people (women – 10,391, children 16,875), 4,232 vehicles and 44,352 heads of cattle left the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Since September 30, 2015, in total 1,241,026 IDPs have returned back to their homes in the Syrian Arab Republic (373,031 women, 632,675 children). Since January 1, 2018, 158,711 IDPs (48,033 women, 80,292 children).



III. Cities and Towns Ready to Receive Refugees

There are 1,497,650 places arranged to receive and accommodate refugees in 412 settlements less affected by the combat actions.



IV. Infrastructure Rehabilitation

Twenty buildings were recovered over the past day (Kafer al-Tun - four, Homs province, Uwaynat Kabirah - three, Aleppo province, Douma - six, Damascus province, Saida - seven, Daraa province) and a water pump station in Al-Tabiyah (Deir ez-Zor province).

They assessed the social infrastructure and facilities, housing fund, amount of construction materials available in Khusham (Deir ez-Zor province) and al-Kariyatain (Homs province). In order to improve living conditions for Syrians, and to complete infrastructure rehabilitation it is necessary to supply materials in the following towns:

Khusham – a dump truck, 18 windows, 7 cu m of bricks, 5 cu m of cement, 4 tons of building bars, 1,350kg of lime and filling, 950m of water pipes, 900m of electric cables, to overhaul six houses;

Al-Kariyatain – a tractor, a wheeled crane, two dump trucks, 36 windows, 21 cu m of brick, 19 cu m of cement, 12 tons of building bars, 2,350kg of lime and filling, 1,900m of water pipes, 2,800m of electric cables, to overhaul eleven houses and a bakery.

Heads of local administrations prepared applications to the Ministry of Public Works and housebuilding to received construction materials for recovering social infrastructure.

Since July 18, 2018, in total, in the Syrian Arab Republic:

104 medical and 247 educational organizations have been recovered;

five road bridges and 690 km of roads were recovered (8km - over the past day);

627km of power line have been installed (5km - over the past day);

102 power substations, 95 water supply facilities (one over the past day), 97 bakeries, 43 industrial enterprises have been put into operation.

Currently, in 283 settlements of the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Deir-ez-Zor, Latakia, Hama, Homs, work is underway to overhaul 175 schools, 157 kindergartens, 152 bakeries, 173 water pump stations, 159 power substations, 149 medical centres, 1,869 houses and 82 place of worships.



V. Humanitarian Assistance

Over the past day there have been a humanitarian action in Bir Adjum, al-Quneitra province, to distribute 300 food sets with a total weight of 1.29 tons.

Besides, the Kadyrov Regional Public Fund has held two humanitarian actions:

civilians in Salakhin, Aleppo province received one ton of bread;

people in Hamish hospital, Damascus province received 25 individual wheelchairs, 150 school bags and 60 sets of clothes.

In total, the Russian side has organised and carried out 1,965 humanitarian actions, delivering 3,072.94 tons of food supplies, the bare necessities and bottled water.

In total, 95,110 Syrians were provided with medical assistance by Russian military medics.



VI. Mine Clearance

The SAA engineering units carry on the mine clearance operation in the settlements of Talbiseh, Qasiri-Harabesi, Ein-Zat (Homs province), Oufaniya, Shaukatliya, Hader and al-Othmaniyah (al-Quneitra province), Nasib (al-Suwayda province) and al-Zelaf (Damascus province). They have cleared up: 7 ha of the territory, 9 buildings and 2km of roads.

They found and defused 31 explosive devices including 8 improvised explosive devices.

In total, in the Syrian Arab Republic: 542.6 ha of the territory, 1,097 buildings and 153.5km of roads. They found and defused 9,947 explosive devices including 2,724 improvised explosive devices.



VII. Arrangements for Refugee Reception

The government program on restoration settlements liberated from the militants has started in Damascus, Aleppo and Hama provinces.

The program consists of three phases: preparation of infrastructure (water supply, electrification), targeted aid to the population, the repatriation of residents to permanent housing. Efforts taken by the Syrian Arab Republic activate repatriation process.

National Reconciliation Committees established in Syrian provinces and cities (made up by heads of administrations, police, sheiks, representatives of public organizations and opposition) hold negotiations on joining ceasefire regime and voluntary defection to the side of legal government and the surrender of weapons. Former members of illegal armed formations and internally displaced persons are granted amnesty who lived in the territories earlier occupied by terrorists.

The Joint Coordination Committee of the Syrian Arab Republic on the repatriation of refugees headed by Local Administration Minister Hussein Makhlouf carries out social and economic activities to activate the process of infrastructure rehabilitation; all necessary measures are taken to enable refugees and internally displaced persons to return back to their homeland.

The government of Jordan has announced that a group of 279 so-called “White Helmet” activists—militants aligned with Takfiri terrorists and the launching of fake gas attacks in Syria—have left for “resettlement in Western countries” three months after they were evacuated by Israel.

In July, the White Helmets, fleeing advancing Syrian government troops, slipped over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights frontier and into Jordan with the help of Israeli soldiers and Western powers.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the time he had helped the evacuation at the request of US President Donald Trump and other Western leaders.

Jordan had accepted them after getting guarantees that their stay would be temporary and they would be given asylum in Canada, Germany and Britain.


The “White Helmets” most famously staged the alleged “chemical attack” in the town of Douma in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta in April, a stunt which was filmed and used worldwide as “proof” of the Syrian government’s “war crimes”—until an international inspection team concluded that there had been no chemical attack at all.

The “White Helmets” who fled to Jordan were transported by the Israeli army in July this year. The Jordanian government, which has consistently refused to accept Syrian “refugees” in recent years, said an exception was made in this case as the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany agreed to take the White Helmets and their families.

Report: Russia sends Syria improved S-300 to counter Israeli strikes

Russia has reportedly transferred to the Syrian military a more advanced version of its S-300 air defense system in a bid to help Damascus counter Israeli airstrikes against Iranian and Iran-backed forces in the country.

The Russian daily Izvestia reported Friday that the upgraded system, the S-300PM-2, boasts more advanced radar and communications systems. It has been in use by the Russian army since 2010.

Three batteries of the system have been transferred to Syria, the report said, citing a Defense Ministry official in Moscow.

The jew airforce doesn't need F-35's to attack Russian air defense, they can swarm it with ballistic missiles, cruisers or even AGM they have plenty of all these types of ordnance available and would be quickly and amply resupplied by Uncle Sugar if they needed more.

The jews will wait until the optimum moment for their attack on Syria, likely soon after they provoke Hezbollah to play its hand near their northern border or Iranian forces in Syria maneuvering for an attack so they can say they attacked the Russians and Syrians while engaging in self defense.

The Pentagon’s in-house tech incubator is trying to stop Russia from scrambling US battlefield signals in Syria, federal contract documents show.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency — or DARPA — has awarded at least $9.6 million worth of contracts over the past couple of months for radio systems designed to protect US signals used to call in air and artillery strikes. The agreements with US defense contractors Northrop Grumman and L3 Technologies come amid rising concerns that Russia could intercept and manipulate targeting data.


A top US commander who spoke to Al-Monitor said that the military is waking up to the severity of the threat after getting outpaced by Russia in recent years.

“On the communications front, we have to secure our networks,” said US Army Lt. Gen. Paul Funk, who commanded the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria until June. “Our adversaries are going to adapt all the time, so we have to adapt faster and more frequently.”

Funk, who now commands the Army’s III Corps out of Fort Hood, Texas, said he was not aware of the DARPA-led program.

Since entering the conflict in 2015, Russia has rotated “everybody who’s anybody” in the military through Syria, said CNA’s Bendett. Valery Gerasimov, who leads Moscow’s armed forces, has described the Syrian battlefield as a preview for future wars. That includes ingraining electronic warfare (EW) into military training.

“Whenever we talk about Russian EW systems, it’s the constant training,” Bendett said. “They’re doing this around the clock.”

American military officials are concerned over Israel's campaign against Iran in Syria that has won the encouragement of the White House, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

“It’s a growing concern for us,” a senior military official told the Journal. The report says that U.S. military officials fear that Iran would believe the United States is behind some of the strikes in Syria, or that the United States is feeding Israel intelligence for the strikes, it could prompt attacks by Iran-backed militias on American troops in the regions.

The officials expressed concerned particularly to more than 5,000 U.S. troops stationed in Iraq.

The Israeli bombings commenced, according to foreign press reports, in January 2012, less than a year after the outbreak of the Syrian civil war.

Haaretz's Amos Harel wrote last week that Russia has been taking a more forceful stance toward Israel concerning Israel Air Force activity in the north, ever since the incident in which a Syrian anti-aircraft missile downed an Ilyushin Russian intelligence-gathering plane. The plane was shot down at the end of an Israeli airstrike near Latakia in northwestern Syria.

Well, may be, may be not; ishell`s weakness is it`s TOTAL LACK of STRATEGIC DEPTH.............they have VERY LIMITED SPACE in which to hide stuff, meaning any large scale RETALIATORY bombardment will be far more likely to achieve a swamping effect.

An Israeli cabinet minister has warned that if the Syrians use their recently supplied advanced Russian air defense missiles to bring down Israeli planes over Israeli territory, the launchers would be targeted — even if that means endangering Russian military specialists at the launch sites.

Environmental Protection Minister (((Ze’ev Elkin))), who is also co-chair of the Russia-Israel Intergovernmental Commission, told Russian media Monday that it was a “big mistake” for Moscow to supply its ally Syria with the S-300 missile system, because the advanced missiles, which are considered a significant threat to Israeli air power in the area, “might lead to destabilization of the situation.”

(((Elkin))) cautioned that “considering the mess” that the Syrian army was in, the Syrians cannot be trusted to operate the equipment correctly and may end up shooting down an “Israeli military or commercial plane over Israeli territory.”

Over 60 civilians have been killed or injured by a US-led coalition airstrike on Syria's eastern province of Deir ez-Zor, Syrian SANA news agency reported.

Syrian SANA news agency reported on Monday that over 60 civilians were killed or injured by an airstrike, made by the US-led coalition on al-Sha'afa town in eastern Deir ez-Zor.

"More than 60 dead and wounded civilians as a result of an attack by the international coalition on the village of al-Sha'afa in the east of Deir ez-Zor province," SANA said, citing local sources.

The coalition's strikes in Syria have repeatedly come under fire for a large number of deaths among the civilians. In 2017, the strikes in Raqqa led to at least 1,400 civilian deaths, according to London-based NGO Airwars estimates.
