Only The Romans Could Have Built The Massive "Wailing Wall"
One of the stones at the Roman quarry at Baalbek. In the Old City of Jerusalem, a place of prayer and pilgrimage... It is the only remains of the Second Temple of Jerusalem, held to be uniquely holy by the ancient Jews and destroyed by the Romans in 70 ce. I've been to the wailing wall, and it is slowly being destroyed by the Jews who lean on it, and place paper messages in it's cracks. And "Wailing Wall" of course is meant to rhyme. But who built the present wall? The Sultan in 1535 who was Muslim? Herod or Hadrian? Herod was hired by the Romans to rule over Palestine, and he is said to have rebuilt the wall in 70 AD. Or could it be the remains of an old Roman fortress known as Fort Antonia. Who was Herod? This inscription shows he was not a Jew. |
