"Never before I have heard uglier songs than those of the Vikings in Slesvig (in Denmark). The growling sound coming from their throats reminds me of dogs howling, only more untamed." - Ibn Fadlan

As to that video, one of the quarrels I have with black metal is that some just use the rough vocals for their own sake instead of integrating them with the melody (see example). Additionally, many NSBM bands just ride coat-tails these days with a few notable exceptions. As to national socialism, I find it lacking as an ideology. Give me the words of Locke and Von Hayek over that any day, for that which governs best, governs least. Last edited by Cernunnos; March 22nd, 2009 at 05:25 PM. |

Christ, it would drive one to suicide listening to that. Music should be listened to in your own time and have nothing to do with our fight. How in the world Nationalists got into to this mess of combining music and our struggle is beyond me. We will fail if we attach any sub - cultures to our struggle, as their products of the sick society. Last edited by Joe Owens; March 23rd, 2009 at 08:17 AM. Reason: update |

Amon Amarth
The band bases most of their songs on Norse Viking Age, and the pre-Christian world. Originally emerged as an ideological off-shoot of black metal in a genre known as Viking metal in the early 1990s, made popular by such bands as Bathory and Enslaved. Lead singer Johan Hegg's sister sometimes contributes lyrics for the band.[citation needed] When asked to comment on the band's genre, vocalist Johan Hegg remarked: “ We play death metal. We write about vikings so, therefore, some refer us to viking metal, but I have no idea what that is. I can't imagine the viking’s veer into metal at all except on the swords and stuff. And musically, I guess they only played these strange lip instruments and some bongos or whatever. „ —The Metal Web's interview with Johan Hegg |

I do not see how it is possible to have a destructive music thread in the England section without even mentioning Cradle of Filth or The Sex Pistols.

A valuable attitude to maintain in the 70's when the kulture-kikes started ramping up the 'White guilt' agit-prop.

Led Zep are a brilliant band. Their personal lives or antics were of no interest to me as a youngster in the 70's. Although if I did have to say they inspired me musically along with AC/DC (and I am a musician by trade) they taught me that God sent us Les Paul and Excalibur was actually in the form of a Gibson SG and together gave us "a million fingers, learning how to play and you could hear those fingers picking and this is what they had to say............LET THERE BE ROCK!!".
I may be wrong, but I think historically Led Zep are famed for never having released a single which also meant that they were exempt from the money making chart music, which is and always has been a list of bands who have signed over their musical rights and in most cases talentless idiots who prance around to re-hashed 'golden oldies'. Music for me is not just a passion, its a way of life and I'm interested in the history, development and implication of music throughout the ages and when I was young the politics of music didn't really matter to me, if I liked it, I would listen to it. And best of all its music that used to get me laid alot and if it meant learning a few basic chords as a kid that guaranteed me some horizontal slam dancing then whats a bloke to do eh? Music is very inspirational but its the actions of the individual to decide what it means or what its message is. Anyone who may kill murder or maim and try to use the excuse that the song or music made them do it is a fucking fruit loop anyway. Take alot of murderers and serial killers.....they wasn't caught with an iPod full of ABBA's greatest hits, they were usually in the posession of a book (probably the most influential and history changing tool ever invented by man) and I think Catcher In The Rye was a significant title? |

"Whole Lotta Love" in summer 1997 was their only single. They were supposed to be releasing the Immigrant Song as a single after it was announced it was going to be in Shrek 3 but I don't think they ever did.

"whole lotta love" was more to do with the record company unfortunately cashing in 20 years after the song originally appeared. Ironically as well it was the theme tune for TOP OF THE POPS for years and eventually was replaced by Phil Lynotts 'Yellow Pearl'. Infact TOTP itself went downhill when they stopped using a 'rock' intro and decided to use the 80's style synth pop tune they used until its demise...the name of the tune escapes me plus it was shit so I have no interest in it.

Y'know, I'm sure I should have known that, in fact, I know I knew it but when I came to post about it, I didn't know it at all. I must have forgotten it because I can't even remember the TOTP theme at all now BUT I remember the Oh Boy theme tune which stopped even before you were born, never mind me. How spooky is that, guys and gals?
