Default Feds try to detect 'lone offenders'

Feds try to detect 'lone offenders'

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...ffenders_N.htm

Federal authorities have launched an effort to detect lone attackers who may be contemplating politically charged assaults similar to the recent murders of a Kansas abortion doctor and a Holocaust museum security guard.

The effort, known as the "Lone Wolf Initiative," was started shortly after President Obama's inauguration, in part because of a rising level of hate speech and surging gun sales.

"Finding those who might plan and act alone, the so-called lone offenders ... will only be prevented by good intelligence, the seamless exchange of information among law enforcement at every level, and vigilant citizens reporting suspicious activity," said Michael Heimbach, the FBI's assistant director for counterterrorism.

Secret Service spokesman Malcolm Wiley said the FBI is sharing information with his agency.

Agents from all of the FBI's 56 field offices have been dispatched on a range of assignments, said two U.S. law enforcement officials who were not authorized to speak publicly about details of the program. Among the duties:

• Reviewing records in domestic terrorism investigations that may point to more suspects.

• Analyzing records for suspicious purchases at fertilizer or chemical suppliers whose materials could be used in bombmaking.

• Checking rolls of prisoners scheduled for release or who have been recently released for past links to extremist groups.

One of the goals, FBI officials said, is to develop more comprehensive information on possible lone attackers to disrupt plots before they are launched.

ACLU policy spokesman Michael German, a former FBI agent, said the government effort resembles a form of "predictive policing" that can sometimes result in the improper profiling of people based on race, ethnicity or political leanings.

Yet former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff said the lone attacker has been a "persistent problem," primarily because information about those plots is very closely held.

Federal investigators spent years chasing Unabomber Ted Kaczynski and Olympic Park bomber Eric Rudolph before capturing them.

Hate groups have multiplied across the USA, from 602 in 2000 to 926 in 2008, reports the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks extremist groups and works to limit their activities. Mark Potok, director of the center's Intelligence Project, said the lone attacker is an extension of the "leaderless resistance" concept of activism advocated by white supremacist Louis Beam.

Potok cites the attack by James von Brunn, an elderly white supremacist charged with fatally shooting black security guard Stephen Johns at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in June. That attack came 10 days after abortion provider George Tiller was shot to death at his church. "No one in the world would have expected an 88-year-old man would do that," Potok said of von Brunn.

Sorry Fed-scum but you'll never see a true lone wolf coming because they work alone and don't open their mouths before they strike.

I don't think Ted Kazinski had internet access in his remote cabin.

This is just an excuse that will be used by our now communist govt. to round all up with differing opinions and make them disappear forever.

I wonder how many the commies will kill this time?....50 million? 60 million?
There will be shallow graves dug all across the nation I assure you, this is what the jews do best after all.

That's going to be rather difficult for Zog to pull off since most of white America is armed to the teeth. You can see the cracks already beginning in our jewish house of cards with these town hall meetings. Right now YT's pissed about losing his job. Wait until he can't get food to eat. Being a fed, cop or politician might be a slight more dangerous occupation in the near future.

Or they could simply collect all the posts an individual has made and get some psychoanalyst to say that this person posting on VNN or SF was about to attack a government building or something. They could say the probability for the attack was over 80% and then arrest the guy on a charge. Even though he never intended to do anything but rant. And if they search his house and find weapons or ammo that will just make their case stronger. ZOG can find "terrorists" even when there is none to find. They are now saying militia groups are gaining strength too.

Default Facecrime: Not just for Airports Anymore

How long until "silent insubordination" to a police officer will be a chargable, (and tazerable) offense?

TSA to punish fliers for facecrime

Posted by Cory Doctorow, January 1, 2008 10:31 PM | permalink

TSA screeners are learning to recognize set of secret, forbidden facial expressions. If your face slips into one of these during a TSA inspection, you will be taken off and given a thorough, secondary screening:

TSA officials will not reveal specific behaviors identified by the program -- called SPOT (Screening Passengers by Observation Technique) -- that are considered indicators of possible terrorist intent.

But a central task is to recognize microfacial expressions -- a flash of feelings that in a fraction of a second reflects emotions such as fear, anger, surprise or contempt, said Carl Maccario, who helped start the program for TSA.

"In the SPOT program, we have a conversation with (passengers) and we ask them about their trip," said Maccario from his office in Boston. "When someone lies or tries to be deceptive, ... there are behavior cues that show it. ... A brief flash of fear."

Making Light's Avram Grumer draws a vivid parallel to Orwell's facecrime:

He did not know how long she had been looking at him, but perhaps for as much as five minutes, and it was possible that his features had not been perfectly under control. It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself — anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offence. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime, it was called. (Nineteen Eighty-Four, Part 1, Chapter 5)

It's a complicated issue: on the one hand, this beats racial profiling (as the article notes). On the other hand, the penalty for wearing the wrong face is nigh-unlimited. We've all heard stories of screeners detaining people, forbidding them to fly, and so on, in a kind of bottomless expression of authority without oversight. I'd feel a lot better about this if the TSA would publish the forbidden faces (look, if it's peer-reviewed science, that means terrorists can just look it up in the damned journals, and if it's not science, why should we believe it works?) so that we can all verify for ourselves whether this actually works or whether it's just a bunch of hooey; I'd also feel better if the TSA acted as though the Constitution mattered to them, securing us from unreasonable search and seizure, being answerable to us as their tax-paying employers, and maintaining the presumption of innocence throughout our travelling experience. Good thing the boys in blue turn yellow in major crisis situations. Many pigs headed home during hurricane Katrina rather than dealing with the chimpouts. The main concern is military zogbots because they have the heavy armor and air support.

You're either an idiot or an anti trying to stir up trouble. No such things have been posted on VNN.

Just like when they find common household chemicals, including that can of gas mix for a weed-eater, and they charge someone with possession of bomb making materials.

"Democracy in action" (quote Arlen Spector at the town hall meeting)
Yes democracy in action, we hold these show "Town hall meetings" allow you the average american PEON to speak your mind, we politicians brush off any criticism as if it were dandruff on our suit, go back to DC and do as we please,....then record them for the jewish MSM to spin,...just more kike business as usual.

Harman really got an earful in that first clip another arrogant feminist California kike politician that could give a shit less about her constituancy.

Quite a lot of zionist filth hails from California as of late,....perhaps the San Andreas will slough off into the ocean and solve quite a lot of the nations problems in one fell swoop.

Hopefully Obama keeps on cutting their benefits too. The cops and military, that is.

Yes. I remember that.

On televitz in the UK they showed this interview with spiccy looking cop and the guy was just about to burst into tears explaining that other officers had deserted their posts to look after their families. A gun shot rang out (it was night), they all ducked and looked about crapping themselves. Some nigs out in the darkness were taking potshots at the station. Reminded me of Assault On Precinct 13.

Kwan kwaps are like schoolyard bullies, they're only bad-assed so long as they have the upper hand.
You should see some of the real life dash-cam cop shows they have over here, like Wildest Police Videos.
Whenever some perp is brazen enough to resist with force and the kwap doesn't have immediate back-up and he starts getting the shitty end of it he starts screaming like an hysterical little bitch.
It's a hoot.

They pretend to fear gunmen etc, precisely because they want people to think that the only way to resist is violently.

They know few people are violent, so this reduces resistance.

They are happy to encourage a violent response:
1) because when it occurs they can increase their control
2) because acting violently and illegally is meaningless and ineffective.
Violent types are bit players.

Consider how many violent acts occur each year. No goverment is brought down by them.
What in the greater scheme of things does the loss of a couple buildings or even a few thousand people mean to the sociopaths currently running things, who routinely kill thousands of people daily via their policies, abortion, wars around the globe etc?

The most effective form of resistance to tyranny always has been and is today, withdrawal of financial support.
Boycotts, sanctions, taxpayers relocating, these matter.

One has only to look at California, with one of the 10 largest economies in the world.
For all its Silicone valley, Hollywood, thousands of soldiers, police, bureacrats, nuclear weapons etc it has been brought to its knees simply by taxpayers relocating out of the state.

The core difference between a slum and an upper class area is service delivery, paid by taxes.
Ghettoes arise when the critical mass of taxpayers leave an area.

Without taxpayers finance and skills a critical mass of wards collapse, till the tipping point is reached and the municipality collapses.
When the critical mass of municipalities fails, the tipping point is reached, and the state fails.

For a while states shift money around between municipalities trying to prop up the system, but not for long.

The opposite also is true.
Municipalities and states attractive to taxpayers develop at a phenomenal rate.
The US, Australia and New Zealand used to be attractive, and grew in leaps and bounds.
Switzerland and other tax havens were also examples.

True secession and regime change are not brought about by violence.
They are brought about by financial support or the lack thereof, and by taxpayers physically and financially relocating into and out of municipalities and states.

There weren't any wmd in Iraq, there probably is not any Taliban, I thought they said we had killed 3,000 Al Queda after a month of the Afgan war, that was all of them,...and even most of them were just random jack-offs and peasants who liked to brag about this and that.

It's all a big show, you got Chertoff quoting these bogus reports, proven to be bogus by Patriotic Americans.

Fox News did a clip about ordinary US citizens researching into the DOHS report on 'Right Wing Extremism' and found out it was all bogus.

Americans for Limited Government, which is the parent group of NetRight Nation, had it's Research Department do some digging on the right-wing threat assessment released from the Homeland Security Department. What they turned up was very interesting.

The sources for the potential threats were actually from websites as well as some blogs. Essentially, this Homeland Security threat assessment was not based on any intelligence but on what someone found in doing some Google searches. You can see below that there are at least 20 websites that were used to compile this information. The report was completely based on someones search preferences. Nathan Mehrens from our Research Department was on Fox News discussing what he found out.

They all knew there were no WMD, ...and yet they re-elected George Bush #2. They need some sort of shock therapy I guess, NO, NO, NO REPUBLICANS

The Huffington Post has obtained a letter from Fox News to the Department of Homeland Security requesting they release the entire report on the right-wing extremists identified as a national security threat.

The letter, sent Wednesday from Senior Vice President of Legal & Business Affairs Dianne Brandi, was sent pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act.

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security issued a report saying that right-wing extremists could use the bad state of the U.S. economy and the election of the country's first black president to recruit new members to their cause.

Read the entire report here.

In the letter, Fox News requests "any and all documents that contain factual material or compiled factual material that the [Extremism and Radicalization Branch of the Office of Intelligence and Analysis] relied upon" to make the conclusion that right-wing extremists pose a national security threat.

"Given the vast amount of discussion and concern for domestic terrorism and the equal quantity of discourse over the possible compromise of America's constitutional rights, Fox News has a particular urgency to inform the public about the facts behind this much-discussed Assessment."

Evidence Supporting Claims in 'Rightwing Extremism' Report Lacks Depth, Group Says
Shortly after its release in April, Americans for Limited Government filed a Freedom of Information Act request with Homeland Security, asking to see the supporting evidence for a report on "right-wing extremist groups" that sparked outrage and questions. Apparently there wasn't much

While the Homeland Security Department's report on "right-wing extremist groups" sparked outrage and questions, it was not clear what was behind some of the details in the threat assessment, especially the infamous footnote focusing on "groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Look at how the Soviet Bloc collapsed.
People became apathetic to the demands of the State and the apparatus could no longer afford to enforce its will.

I heard Alan Colmes claiming black rappers singing songs about killing police officers and mentioning them by name is 'freedom of speech'. Obviously, it's all just a joke to them, they say things like this and laugh, it's not a real argument, it's might makes right.

what we really need is a program to detect government bullshitters and liars and criminals and arrest them for attacks on the American people. We need more democratic voters.
