5,000 illegal immigrants sent back last year
By Xie Chuanjiao (China Daily) Updated: 2008-02-13 06:49 Customs officers stopped 5,000 illegal immigrants from entering the country last year, a Ministry of Public Security official has said. Releasing the official figure, deputy director of the ministry's frontier defense management bureau Zhang Chongde said that another 5,000 foreign nationals had either overstayed their visa period or were found to have entered the country illegally. "The number is more than the previous years. But the situation is still controllable." In fact, he said, the crackdown on illegal immigrants had never been better in the last 15 years. On the other hand, 4,000-5,000 Chinese nationals emigrate to other countries and regions illegally each year, he said. [Ha, ha.] But illegal emigration by ships to the US, Canada, Japan and Australia has been negligible, Zhang said. "Not a single case of illegal Chinese emigrants taking the sea route to Australia has been reported for nine years." Zhang's remarks came at a recent seminar on how public security departments were handling proposals from members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top political advisory body. From 2003 to 2007, the ministry received 819 proposals on issues such as crackdown on crimes, intensifying public security management and taking preventive measures, enhancing road safety management, fire-prevention, as well as frontier defense and exit and entry management. "We always pay great attention to such suggestions," Assistant Minister of Public Security Sun Yongbo said. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2...nt_6450303.htm |

[Interesting discussion of the techniques China uses to censor the Internet.]
In America, the Internet was originally designed to be free of choke points, so that each packet of information could be routed quickly around any temporary obstruction. In China, the Internet came with choke points built in. Even now, virtually all Internet contact between China and the rest of the world is routed through a very small number of fiber-optic cables that enter the country at one of three points: the Beijing-Qingdao-Tianjin area in the north, where cables come in from Japan; Shanghai on the central coast, where they also come from Japan; and Guangzhou in the south, where they come from Hong Kong. (A few places in China have Internet service via satellite, but that is both expensive and slow. Other lines run across Central Asia to Russia but carry little traffic.) In late 2006, Internet users in China were reminded just how important these choke points are when a seabed earthquake near Taiwan cut some major cables serving the country. It took months before international transmissions to and from most of China regained even their pre-quake speed, such as it was. http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/20080...irewall?reddit |

Yeah, China owns Australia since everything in Australia is made in and owned by Chinese companies. For an example of this if you are in Australia look on your store shelves since 75% of the shit here is made in China and Australia has no manufacturing base at all these days since our governments over the last twenty years believe in a tariff free global economy. Our only industry is the primary industry which is seeing Australia become nothing more than a quarry for China. You can also add the over 7,000,000 non-Whites (aka coolie labourers) who have come here since the Immigration Restriction Bill was abandoned without the people of Australia having a say at all. Within twenty years Australia will be known as the People's Republic of Austrasia if nothing is done within the next few years.
