Jews pissing and moaning about an award going to a National Socialist doctor
London, May 26 : A former SS doctor accused of sending 900 sick children to their deaths under the Nazi euthanasia programme has been awarded a German medical association’s highest honour, even as Jewish organisations have been continuously pressurising Germany to put him on trial for murder.
He was given the Guenther-Budelmann medal by the German Federation of Internal Medicine for “unequalled services in the cause of freedom of the practice and the independence of the medical profession and to the nation’s health system”. The decision comes as Jewish organisations continue to press Germany to put 92-year-old Hans-Joachim Sewering on trial for mass murder. The US Anti-Defamation League, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and an independent committee seeking his prosecution claim Dr Sewering – who says he joined the SS for “social reasons” – was an enthusiastic supporter of the euthanasia programme, a secret Nazi policy of murdering handicapped people, which ran across Austria and Germany before the Second World War. The doctor has always denied sending children to Eglfing-Haar, a facility south of Munich where it’s alleged physically and mentally handicapped children were killed, The Telegraph reported. Despite allegations, Dr Sewering enjoyed a brilliant career and is a former head of Germany’s doctors’ association. The Nazis are known to have coerced doctors into reporting disabled patients during “Action T-4”. (ANI) http://www.topnews.in/jews-livid-ove...-doctor-244056 |

Germans eye ways to curb "anti-Semitism."
More must be done to keep anti-Semitism in check, a German parliamentary hearing concluded.
Meeting Monday at the Bundestag in Berlin, lawmakers and experts offered suggestions and described the challenges. Deidre Berger, the head of the American Jewish Committee office in Berlin, urged the German government to install a professional at the Bundestag designated to respond to the issue. Henryk Broder, a journalist and co-founder of the Axis of Good Web site, warned of "modern anti-Semites who have good manners instead of shaved heads." According to Heinz Fromm, the head of the German Federal Service for Protection of the Constitution, 20 percent of Germans have a "latent tendency to endorse anti-Semitic attitudes." More Germans reject the notion that they bear a special responsibility to guard against anti-Semitism because of the Holocaust, said Werner Bergmann, a professor at the Center for Research on Anti-Semitism at Berlin's Technical University. http://www.jta.org/cgi-bin/iowa/breaking/109086.html |

German synagogue vandalized
German police are investigating the vandalism of a synagogue near Hamburg. A stone was thrown through a window into the sanctuary on Tuesday, according to the president of the Pinneberg Jewish community, Wolfgang Seibert. Later, in an anonymous call to the community's office, a male voice said, "The same thing can happen more often. You've got no more peace." He concluded with the Nazi phrase of salute to Hitler, "Sieg Heil." Siebert noted an increase in right-wing propaganda and incidents in the area, including political stickers from the neo-Nazi National Democratic Party of Germany, anti-Semitic verbal attacks and an attempt to interrupt a Jewish wedding. The Jewish community of Pinneberg has 180 members. http://www.jta.org/cgi-bin/iowa/breaking/109102.html |

Holohoax liar faggot shrine vandalized
Berlin's memorial to gays and lesbians persecuted during the Nazi era has been vandalized less than three months after it was inaugurated, police in the German capital said Saturday, Aug. 16.
The vandals broke a viewing window and pushed over a fence, in the first time the memorial has been damaged. The damage was seen by a passer-by on Saturday. The simple grey rectangular stone across the street from Germany's national memorial to Jewish victims of the Holocaust was inaugurated on May 27 after years of controversy. More than 50,000 homosexuals are thought to have been convicted under the Nazis "because of their sexual orientation," with thousands of them sent to concentration camps and murdered. Current research suggests 54,000 men and women were convicted of homosexual acts and about 7,000 killed in the camps. The monument, designed by Danish-Norwegian artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset, contains a window that invites the visitor to look inside and see a film of a homosexual couple kissing. The image is to be alternate between two men and two women every two years. http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,...569232,00.html |

Lutheran church was forced to convert into a synagogue
Bielefeld, Germany - A new synagogue that opened Sunday in the German city of Bielefeld is the first in Germany to be set up in a former Lutheran church. The interior of the 1961 church was fully converted from a Christian to a Jewish space. Its church bells were removed last year and the top of the steeple was changed from a point to a dome.
The 300-seat synagogue serves a Jewish community that has outgrown its existing synagogue, increasing from fewer than 40 to 300 in the past eight years because of immigration from eastern Europe. Recalling how an earlier synagogue in the city in Germany's West was gutted by fire 70 years ago during the first wave of Nazi persecution of Jews, state rabbi Henry Brandt said, "And here we are dedicating a new synagogue. "Who would ever have believed that?" Juergen Ruettgers, premier of North Rhine-Westphalia state, where Bielefeld is located, said at the opening that the building project was a "sign of trust and hope" by German Jews. http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/s...er-church.html |

The BRD Boosts Financial Support for Jewish Community
Germany has increased its annual funding for the nation's Jewish community, in an effort to keep up with the group's expansion.
The country will increase funding for the Central Council of Jews in Germany by 2 million euros ($2.9 million) to around 5 million euros per year, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Gabriele Hermani said. In addition, the German government funds several Jewish university departments and schools, and contributes to the upkeep of Jewish cemeteries. In 2003 the German government struck a deal that committed them to spend 3 million euros per year for the Jewish community. They also agreed to raise the funding in five years based on growth. Growing community, growing needs Today an estimated 250,000 Jews live in Germany. Funding is expanding accordingly, the government said. In addition to the money paid directly to the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the government funds the College of Jewish Studies (HfJS) in Heidelberg, the Central Archives for Research on the History of the Jews in Germany, also in Heidelberg, the Abraham Geiger College at the University of Postam, and the Leo Baeck Institute. Moreover, the state funds half the security and upkeep costs for cemeteries of prior Jewish communities in the country. On Wednesday, Sept. 24, German president Horst Koehler wrote a greeting message to Germany's Jews ahead of the Jewish High Holidays, which include the Jewish New Year festival Rosh Hashana on Sept. 29 and 30. "Long roots" of Jewish history In his message, he said he thinks life in the country's Jewish communities is becoming increasingly diverse, colorful, and self-evident. "I'm very happy about that," Koehler wrote. He said he thinks it is a good sign that more and more Jewish museums are being created to memorialize the long history of Jewish life in Germany. "These long and deep roots have made Jewish life in Germany possible, even following the enormous and terrible rupture of the Shoah," Koehler wrote. He extended New Year's wishes to all Jews in Germany. http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,...669667,00.html Last edited by Robert Bandanza; September 25th, 2008 at 05:09 AM. |

Financial crisis hits rabbi training college in Germany
BERLIN (Reuters) - The global financial crisis is threatening the existence of the first rabbinical seminary to be established in central Europe since the Holocaust, staff said on Tuesday.
The Abraham Geiger College, which belongs to the University of Potsdam near Berlin, relies largely on American and European donors and sponsors to finance its programs. "In the face of the economic turmoil, many of our sponsors can't afford to support us anymore," Hartmut Bomhoff, a lecturer at college told Reuters. The college is short of at least 250,000 euros ($331,100) in donations which it needs to survive. "We are under immense time pressure and if the government doesn't respond to our appeal for state funding, I can't see a future for the institution," added Bomhoff. The college was founded in 1999 and in 2006 it became the first institution to train rabbis for ordination in Germany since the Holocaust, in which some 6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis. [They're hinting for donations] It relies on sponsors and donors for more than a quarter of its funding while the bulk of the college's costs are covered by the federal government, the state of Brandenburg and the Central Council of Jews in Germany. "Political talks are underway to see what can be done, but I see no solution as yet," rector of the College, Rabbi Walter Homolka wrote in a press statement. http://uk.reuters.com/article/lifest...49K5VM20081021 |

German financial crisis could lead to rise of Nationalism
Germany's financial crisis could lead to the rise of a far-Right political party, a leading analyst has warned.
Christoph Butterwegge said that "cycles" involving bankruptcy of financial institutions, plunging stock markets, and mass unemployment could ignite an extremist movement in the way that Adolf Hitler exploited the world economic depression of the early 1930s. Professor Butterwegge's warning comes after a study showed that 37 per cent of Germans felt that immigrants arrived in the country "to exploit the welfare state" and 39 per cent said Germany was "dangerously overrun with foreigners". The Friedrich Ebert Foundation's findings concluded that 26 per cent of Germans would like "a single, strong party that represents the German community". Predications by the International Labor Organization that the credit crisis could cost up to 20m jobs worldwide may lead to further disillusionment with democracy. "The competition for resources will get much greater when the state spends even a fraction of the 480bn euros in the financial injections and guarantees," professor Butterwegge said. "I am, of course, not prophesying that far-right extremists grab power like they did on January 30, 1933, but it is striking how similar the cycles are." A report issued by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development seemed to back his warning, showing Germany's gap between rich and poor increasing at an alarming rate with children and young adults 25 per cent more likely to be poor than the population as a whole. Stagnant wages for low-income families and limited opportunities for upward mobility were cited as key causes. The far-right National Democratic Party has called for a nationalisation of banks in the wake of the recent crisis, hoping to lure more young voters to its ranks. Though far-right parties exist in two German state governments, they have not gained enough support to be represented at federal level. Earlier this month police across Germany carried out raids on the Homeland-Loyal German Youth, a neo-Nazi youth group authorities accuse of being anti-Semitic and racist along Nazi ideological lines. Politicians on the left have stepped up demands to have the group banned. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/f...far-Right.html |

Nationalist "attacks" up in eastern Germany
Germany's eastern state of Saxony has reported a 19 percent jump in the number of neo-Nazi attacks in the first nine months of 2008.
Police said they are also worried that far-right groups could be growing more organized. Saxony's top security official Albrecht Buttolo says authorities have recorded 91 attacks against foreigners since January. Buttolo said authorities are particularly concerned that data released Wednesday shows neo-Nazis are increasingly networking beyond their localities. Saxony has been plagued by far-right extremists for years. In 2004, the far-right National Democratic Party won seats in state elections and is a member of the legislature. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull |

Stasi Germany
http://www.spiegel.de/international/...590875,00.html
German parliamentarian Lutz Heilmann asked a court to shut down the German version of the popular Wikipedia Web site, drawing a fast and furious reaction from users. Heilmann -- no stranger to controversy -- has beaten a hasty retreat. An investigation into his records after he was elected to the Bundestag in September 2005 revealed that Heilmann signed up to work for the Stasi in 1989 after a stint in the East German army. He was assigned to the division responsible for providing security and bodyguards for East German leaders and Communist Party officials. That made Heilmann, elected as part of his party's candidate list in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein, the country's first parliamentarian with a past as a full-time employee of the feared Stasi. The revelations nearly resulted in Heilmann's ejection from the party. Since Wikipedia's servers are located in the United States, Heilmann's biography stayed up over the weekend, accessible at de.wikipedia.com. "There's been no legal decision that the German association is responsible for international content," Wikimedia Deutschland lawyer Thorsten Feldmann said over the weekend. suit in the spotlight. The reference site, whose entries are written and edited by users, has almost 700 million visitors per year, and the German-language edition is the second-largest with more than 800,000 entries. |

Jewish German council slams Khatami visit
Sun, 23 Nov 2008 21:00:24 GMT
A Jewish council blasts German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office for welcoming Iran's former president Mohammad Khatami. In a Sunday statement, the Central Council of Jews in Germany launched a bitter assault on Gernot Erler, the minister of state, for welcoming Khatami during his Oct. 28 visit to the southern German city of Freiburg. Khatami, who served as Iran's president from 1997 to 2005, was invited by the University of Freiburg to deliver a lecture on 'Dialogue between the Islamic and Western World.' The Jewish council also attacked Freiburg mayor Dieter Salomon for hosting Khatami, accusing him of 'pure appeasement' toward the Islamic Republic. Salomon praised Khatami's tenure as Iranian president, saying he 'feels very honored by Khatami's visit' in a recent interview with the Badische newspaper. The co-head of the Central Council of Jews, Dieter Graumann said by hosting Khatami, Erler and Salomon have shown an 'obvious attempt to appease (Iran's) politics, economics, education and culture.' In response to the harsh criticism, Salomon told The Jerusalem Post that Graumann's statements 'take some nerve.' Erler said Berlin is determined to pursue 'the use of communication channels with important figures in Iran.' http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id...onid=351020604 |

BRD may not be able to fund every Holohoax liar because they are dying out
The "race" to catch major Nazis before they die has been "lost," Germany's Jewish leader, Charlotte Knobloch, said Monday at the national agency to investigate Nazi war crimes, dpa reported.
She was speaking at ceremonies marking 50 years of work by the agency, which was established on December 1, 1958. The agency's greatest achievements include compiling the evidence to prosecute the key surviving commanders and guards from the Auschwitz death camp between 1963 and 1965. At Ludwigsburg in south-western Germany where the agency has its office, German President Horst Koehler highlighted its contribution to restoring German honour in the world by ensuring that Nazis received their just desserts for Holocaust crimes. "We can thank these efforts to punish Nazi crimes for the fact that our nation is once again a respected member of the family of nations and is friends with former enemies," he said. Knobloch, president of the Central Council of Jews, praised the agency but said the German justice system had not done enough. "The race against time has been lost," she said. "An unknown number of grave crimes remains unpunished." She accused Germany of not giving the Ludwigsburg agency sufficient powers to act fast against the Nazis. Inquiries by its prosecutors must be handed over to prosecutors in the 16 German states once the cases are ready to bring to trial. The agency hopes to mount one last major inquiry, against John Demjanjuk, 88, the former Ukrainian member of the SS who was acquitted by an Israeli court. The Ohio man is accused of being an infamous guard at the Treblinka extermination camp. But even that inquiry was challenged last month, with state prosecutors in Munich saying it was not their business. Michael Stolleis, a historian of law, said the national office's foundation was preceded by foot-dragging among German politicians. He said it was largely because of the pressure from public opinion and other nations that the "National Office of the State Justice Adminstrations for the Investigation of Nazi Crimes" had been set up in 1958. http://news-en.trend.az/world/wnews/1360273.html |
