Smile Favourite retro tv-series

- - -

. . by retro-tv-series I mean not prevailing ones . .

- - -

. . when you look into the past, which series do you like which are no longer broadcast . . ?

- - -

A series I loved as a child . .

. .

'Super Mario Brothers Super Show'

For those unfamiliar with it . .

The character 'Super Mario' stems from an 80's video-game . .

. . the character first appeared for Nintendo entertainment and has been prominent since then.

In fact almost every new console which came on the market had a 'Super Mario'-game story featured. .

lol . .

The story summed up . .

Mario and Luigi , two Italian-stemming plumbers from Booklyn , magically are drawn into a fantastic world where there is a quarrel between the 'good' mushroom-people and an 'evil' species of turtle-like creatures . .

. . Mario and Luigi aid the mushroom-people against the 'evil' turtles.

lol

I wonder how one can come up with such an idea . .

- - -

. . but I loved the series . .

The series revolved around the same storyline I gave above , just that it was full of allusions to other stories , about famous movies , about famous music stars and so on . . .

The titles , "Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid" ,"Count Koopula" ,"The Ten Koopmandments" et al sure speak for themselves .

- - - -

So . . one of the first 'computer game heroes' set into a tv-series revolving around other famous tales . .

Funny . . to say the least . .

. . . oh , and by the way . .

So . . what are yours ?

I watched several episodes of Beauty and the Beast back then. It was the only other thing I saw Linda Hamilton in besides The Terminator.

I also liked M*A*S*H as a kid, but certainly not now. The Alan Alda Political Hour.

Yes, Michael Ansara. Also appeared in the Lost In Space episode 'The Challenge'. I didn't know he was from Syria.

Susan Howard, who played Kang's wife Mara in 'Day of the Dove' later played Donna Krebs on Dallas.

I liked The Avengers too, and Diana Rigg's bodysuit. More TV trivia: Patrick MacNee was the voice of the Cylon Imperious Leader on Battlestar Galactica and appeared in the episode 'War of the Gods'.

I'm really strolling down Memory Lane here.

And here's a scene from that episode. As you probably already know, the boy on the left went on to become a major movie star, in such films as Escape From New York:

Both his name and his semi-swarthiness tipped me off some years ago, so I Wiki-ed him.

I doubt I'm telling you much you don't already know, but Michael Ansara also starred in the TV series Broken Arrow, along with John Lupton. Ansara might be the first Syrian-born actor in history to play an American Indian, and did so over half a century ago. Even so, it was a poor TV copy of the movie version, starring James Stewart - an excellent movie:

Okay, this is not a favorite retro TV show. Like many other shows here, it came from the 1960's, and was created by the same jew who put together Gilligan's Island. Where he was successful with that, It's About Time lasted just one season, featuring two astronauts who get thrown back to prehistoric times where they meet a caveman and a cavewoman named Gronk and Shag - both played by jews:

Gronk & Shag

Two Hapless Astronauts

Funny thing about this scene, when looked through the lens of today's society: here's this nigger bitch pulling a blade on a faggot so it's hard for the Left to know which side to take - the nigger woman's or the homo gook's - each check-marking two minority boxes at once. Puzzling, it'z.

One of my all-time favorite retro-TV series:

Kimble meets the future Kirk in this episode, where the latter plays a former cop who also has one slight problem: he moonlights as a serial killer:

Plotting his next murder:

I thought the Airwolf theme music was one of the coolest ever for TV.
