French police arrest four over Lyon bomb blast

Algerian student, his parents and relation arrested after explosion leaves 13 injured

French police have arrested four people over a package bomb explosion in the heart of the south-eastern city of Lyon last week that injured 13 people.

A police raid was also under way in a building in the Oullins suburb just south of the city, authorities said. The suspected bomber, a 24-year-old Algerian IT student, was among those arrested.

The man’s parents were also arrested and taken in for questioning, as was a second Algerian student who is a family relation, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, which has jurisdiction over terrorism cases in France.

Algerian? Sounds like the umpteenth example of the multiculturalism that jews have been pushing in European countries.

France calls on Iraq to spare six of its citizens from death penalty

PARIS (Reuters) - Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Tuesday said France was intensifying diplomatic efforts to prevent six of its citizens being executed in Iraq after they were sentenced to death for belonging to Islamic State.

Iraqi courts sentenced two more French nationals to death on Tuesday, bringing the number of French Islamic State members facing the death penalty to six.

They're saying that the Algerian bomber is an ISIS terrorist:

Lyon Bomb Suspect Told Police He Pledged Allegiance to ISIS

PARIS — The main suspect in the bombing last week in the central French city of Lyon has told investigators that he had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, a French judicial official said on Thursday.
(...)
The suspect was arrested on Monday at a bus stop in Lyon and is still in custody, where he admitted to investigators that he had carried out the bombing. But his exact motivations — and whether he had direct ties to the Islamic State or to a wider network — remain unclear, the French authorities said.

It's easy to label opponent a troll and add hegative reps, but do you have anything to say in support for Stewart Meadows' delusions about pro-White yellow vests?

Turnout at France's 'yellow vest' protest hits fresh low

PARIS (Reuters) - The number of “yellow vest” demonstrators marching against high living costs in France dwindled on Saturday following several weeks of waning turnout, more than six months into the protests against President Emmanuel Macron.

Police fired teargas at some protesters in the southern city of Toulouse. But the demonstrations - on the 29th weekend in a row since they first erupted last November, leading on some occasions to riots - passed off largely peacefully.

Some 9,500 people took to the streets across France on June 1, the Interior Ministry estimated, with 1,500 in Paris. That was down from the 12,500 nationwide last Saturday, and a far cry from the close to 300,000 that first occupied roundabouts and blocked roads in what began as an outcry against fuel tax hikes.
(...)
That will provide some relief for Macron, who was forced to put some reforms on hold and make costly concessions to try and contain the unrest and find ways to boost purchasing power.

Even so the government is still on tenterhooks. A 5.9 percent hike in the power prices of state-controlled utility EDF - the highest increase in years - came into force on Saturday, after the government earlier postponed it due to the protests.

A second increase to French electricity prices in August cannot be ruled out but is not desirable, Junior Environment Minister Emmanuelle Wargon said on Friday.

French police have come under scrutiny from rights groups over the use of heavy duty crowd control weapons including “flash ball” riot guns that fire rubber ball-shaped projectiles.

'Macron, moron!': French priest to be taken to court for contempt

A French priest who criticized President Emmanuel Macron during a recent mass will be taken to court for contempt and for failing to respect the separation of church and state after a complaint was filed by local authorities.

Francis Michel, a priest in the Planquay church in the department of Eure, in Normandy, was filmed on June 2 leading dozens of Yellow Vest supporters in a chant calling the French president a "moron." "We're coming to get you," the crowd sang. "Even if Macron doesn't want us, we're here to fight for workers' honor and for a better world." The chant has been frequently taken up by protesters decrying growing inequalities in the country during the Yellow Vest movement.
(...)
Michel is accused of contempt of the head of state and of violating the separation of church and state, according to the French daily newspaper Le Parisien.

Michel is a well-known supporter of the Yellow Vest movement. He placed a yellow vest on a statue of a baby Jesus last year and planted crosses at a roundabout in the town of Bernay in memory of the protesters who died in the clashes.

From the British newspaper The Telegraph:

Quote:
In another troubling finding, some 44 per cent of gilets jaunes said they believed that there was a “planetary Zionist plot” to rule the world - twice the national average. The figure comes after protesters last Saturday daubed the words “Juden” (Jew in German) on a bagel shop in Paris’ Jewish quarter.

That prompted outrage from famous French cartoonist Johann Sfar, who denounced mushrooming anti-Semitism within the yellow vest movement.

I agree that 44 percent is troubling. It should be at least 90 percent, considering everything that the jews have done.

Minor clashes break out on 30th weekend of French 'yellow vests' protests

PARIS (Reuters) - Minor clashes broke out on Saturday during the 30th consecutive weekend of “yellow vests” anti-government protests in France, although the numbers of demonstrators remained well below earlier peaks.

French television showed a handful of protesters throwing objects at police vans in Drancy, a suburban town near northern Paris, while police also used tear gas and water cannons on demonstrators in the southern city of Montpellier.

The city of Dijon, in central France, also witnessed violent clashes. The local police force said some shops in the town center had their windows broken, and added that a riot police officer there was also injured by a slab of paving stone.

The French government said 10,300 people demonstrated across the country, up from 9,500 last weekend.

Nevertheless, those numbers were well below the peaks seen in November and December, when an estimated 300,000 took to the streets on Saturdays in protests
that often resulted in widespread violence and vandalism in Paris.

A famed French-Jewish philosopher is afraid to leave his home

By Cnaan Liphshiz June 11, 2019

PARIS (JTA) — As a French celebrity philosopher, Alain Finkielkraut belongs to a tiny group of VIPs who get to lead normal, paparazzi-free lives despite having film star-like recognizability here.
(...)
For Finkielkraut, though, this privileged existence has become increasingly difficult because he is a Jewish supporter of Israel.

Amid growing anti-Semitism and social unrest in France, Finkielkraut, a best-selling author and retired university history professor at the prestigious École Polytechnique in Paris, has been accosted repeatedly by street protesters in violation of the law and the unwritten pact between French society and its brightest minds.

“I can no longer show my face on the street,” Finkielkraut, 69, told the magazine Marianne in April after protesters nearly prevented him from speaking at a Paris university. His lecture was announced as canceled — but it actually was moved in a cat-and-mouse game designed to throw off far-left demonstrators.

While Finkielkraut is reviled in some far-right circles for his Jewishness and pro-establishment sentiments, he has become increasingly reviled by the radical left for his criticism of political Islam and support for Israel

Macron meddles in Spanish affairs: French President WARNS Spain with shock order

FRENCH President Emmanuel Macron’s government has been accused of making a “humiliating interference” after wading into Spanish politics, warning its Spanish centre-right ally in the European Parliament of "consequences" if it goes ahead with local alliances with far-right movement Vox in Spain.

PUBLISHED: 14:07, Fri, Jun 14, 2019 | UPDATED: 14:13, Fri, Jun 14, 2019

Ciudadanos, Spain's third-biggest party after national elections in April, agreed at the weekend to divide up senior appointments in the Madrid and Murcia regional assemblies with Vox and the mainstream conservative People's Party (PP), causing unease inside the party. Macron's party, Republic On the Move, and Ciudadanos are both part of the new centrist, liberal Renew Europe group that they hope can play a role of kingmaker at the European Parliament as parties seek alliances after last month's European elections.

"At the local level, alliances with the far right, whatever they are, are not in line with our values," a spokesman for French European Affairs Minister Amelie de Montchalin said.

"Consequences will have to be taken at the (Renew Europe) group level," he said.

French PM sets out "Macron II" reform drive

Michel Rose, Richard Lough

PARIS (Reuters) - France will reduce unemployment benefits for high earners and offer incentives to those who work beyond normal retirement age, two major planks of a renewed reform drive by President Emmanuel Macron after months of “yellow vest” protests.
(...)
The economic data may be pointing in Macron’s favor, but a combination of tax cuts for big business and the wealthy, reforms to loosen labor laws and the perception that he is arrogant have made the former investment banker unpopular among blue-collar workers and others struggling to make a living.

Philippe acknowledged that errors had been made. But he said it was time to relaunch Macron’s reform agenda with what he called an “Act II”.

France's Le Pen unveils new far-right European Parliament group

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - France’s Marine Le Pen unveiled a new far-right group in the European Parliament on Thursday, uniting eurosceptics from across the continent who aim to devolve power from Brussels back to capitals.

Calling itself the Identity and Democracy (ID) group, the new alliance brings together Le Pen’s National Rally, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini’s League party and Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) plus nationalists from Austria, Finland and Denmark, among others.

“We have changed the political chessboard of the European Union,” Le Pen said of ID, which will hold 73 of 751 seats and is the fifth-largest grouping in the newly elected Parliament, just behind the Greens.

Jew shitbag Sarkozy, who was responsible for the disastrous war against Libya, is to stand trial on charges of "corruption and influence peddling":

France's Sarkozy loses bid to avoid corruption trial

Emmanuel Jarry, Richard Lough

PARIS (Reuters) - Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Wednesday lost his final bid to avoid standing trial on charges of corruption and influence peddling, his lawyer said.

Sarkozy is accused of offering to help a judge win a promotion in Monaco in return for leaked information.

The case arose after investigators tapped the phones of Sarkozy and his lawyer Thierry Herzog to examine allegations that late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi funded Sarkozy’s successful campaign for the presidency in 2007.

As they eavesdropped on his calls, investigators began to suspect the ex-president had offered judge Gilbert Azibert a promotion in return for information on developments in a parallel investigation into allegations Sarkozy accepted illicit payments from L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt for the same campaign. Sarkozy was cleared over the Bettencourt allegations.
(…)
The setback for Sarkozy comes only a month after France’s Constitutional Council cleared the way for the former president to be tried over a case related to alleged illegal financing of his failed re-election campaign in 2012.

Emmanuel Macron torn apart by Le Pen's deputy - ‘Divide between patriots and globalists’

MEP Jordan Bardella, vice-president of France’s far-right Rassemblement national (RN) party, said on Wednesday that today’s Europe pitted “patriots against globalists,” as he described President Emmanuel Macron’s party as the “worst” of all political worlds.

By Romina McGuinness
PUBLISHED: 22:43, Wed, Jun 19, 2019 | UPDATED: 22:56, Wed, Jun 19, 2019

The French far-right has been energised by its win in last month’s EU vote, saying that the rise of the populist right shows that nationalists have changed the bloc’s “political chessboard”.

“Today, the political divide is between patriots and globalists,” Mr Bardella told France Info radio.

“It opposes those who want to continue transferring our powers [to Brussels], who do nothing to stop mass immigration, and who allow total free trade; against those who, like the RN, defend the nation, common sense, fiscal peace and the end of immigration,” he continued.

Mr Bardella echoed an earlier comment by far-right lawmaker Louis Aliot, a senior RN official, who also said that the new political battle was between “globalists and patriots” in an interview with Europe 1 radio.

In a separate interview with the news channel BFMTV on Tuesday, Mr Bardella, the rising star of the French far-right, lashed out at France’s centrist leader, accusing him of bringing together the “worst of the left and the right”.

After several months the yellow vest protests are fizzling out--it just won't go anywhere if the government maintains the monopoly on violence. People are probably getting bored with it.
